Inspired by parts of 'A Girl in the Fireplace' but not Madame de Pompadour. I liked the general idea of the episode but it was unnecessary for the doctor to apparently fall in love. Anyway, the doctor does have a new assistant but it's not the French Mistress. This is just one of those weird ideas you get at twenty past one in the morning, hope you like.

Disclaimer: I use my power as… umm… ok, well then, they aren't mine and no profit is being made.

'Has anyone seen him around?' The Doctor asked poking his head round the door into the main control room, where Rose was watching the television screen. The doctor shook his head, what was it about Eastenders?

'No.' Rose grumbled, still slightly annoyed at their latest guest. 'Check the kitchen, he's always hungry.'

The doctor froze for a moment perhaps thinking it wasn't such a good idea to let his new companion roam freely around the TARDIS. He started jogging down the corridor nervously.

Rose smiled to herself as she heard the footsteps die away. She sighed. Maybe sometime she'd get him to see sense and she would almost have shared a sympathetic glance with the time ship if she could, it was her rooms which were getting messed up after all.

'Aw now look what you've done and you just know who's going to have to clean it up – Mickey the tin dog…'

The Doctor heard Mickey Smith's disgruntled voice as he turned the corner to look at the kitchen. His jaw dropped as he saw the gourmet alien food he kept spare strewn all over the floor and plastered across several of the TARDIS' curved cabinets and even the ceiling which was a couple of stories high. He'd clearly just taken packets of his alien delicacies and shaken them everywhere, the Doctor looked mournfully at his fried crussalian chips before he raised an eyebrow as he saw Mickey.

Mickey looked like he'd just had a bag of Gargallinax Sugar poured over him (blue crystals great for going with the tea the doctor liked) and he stood there pushing away Arthur who had dug his nose into packets of the stuff.

'Look Arthur I told you if you don't behave-' He was interrupted as Arthur snorted and trotted over to him.

'Ah… the Doctor finally met someone who can beat him in the battle of the wits.' Mickey said cheerfully, waving as he left the room. 'I'll leave you two alone to work this out.'

The Doctor muttered something under his breath in reply, stroking his new companion's mane. Arthur, a magnificent white stallion, was the latest addition to his adventures in the TARDIS and he was quite useful too, after all, he never started moral arguments about the best ways to deal with humans… excellent get away as well, guaranteed to make an entrance.

Apologies that I got the name of the horse wrong, it is in fact Arthur, not Philip if anyone read it before and I have now corrected it. (No idea where I got that one but I did write this very late at night, which is my excuse)

Well hope you like. I might continue with stories about Arthur if the feedback is good but it all depends on the readers so please let me know by review, thx.
