Chapter 28: Conquering The Sea Shark! Round Of 64 Vs. Gura!
The next day during breakfast, Michael and Gura saw that their battle wouldn't be till after lunch. Soon the time for their battle arrived and they took opposite sides on the battlefield.
Tim - "This will be a 6-on-6 Knockout Stage battle between Gawr Gura of Alola's Heahea City and Michael Masi of Pokémon Island. The battle will continue all Pokémon on one side are unable to continue. Are both trainers ready?"
Both trainers activated their battle disk.

Michael crossed his arms, signaling no.

Leaf Shackle's Current Power: 1,353.6/4 = 338.4
While Gyarados made herself stronger, Decidueye attacked, but his combo attack wasn't as strong due to his attack stat being cut.

Michael silently grimaced as Gura's Gyarados kept making herself stronger, while Decidueye's attacks were slowly doing next to no damage at all.

Due to making herself stronger AND faster through the two Dragon Dance's, Gyarados had more than enough strength to knock out Decidueye.

What most people had failed to realize, was that while Gura's Gyarados had been fighting Decidueye, she had taken a good amount of damage. But due to how weaker Decideye's combo move had gotten during that three-turn battle, everyone except Michael had completely forgotten about it. Michael then decided to make Gura pay for her grave mistake. Sceptile then attacked the weakened Gyarados, quickly knocking her out.
Tim - "Gyarados is unable to battle! Sceptile wins!"
Gura's Remaining Pokémon: 4 – 1 = 3
Gura returned her fallen Gyarados.
Gura - "Thank you for the effort Gyarados. Go Drednaw!"
Tim - "Will you change Pokémon Michael?"
Michael crossed his arms, saying no.

Tim - "All six of Gura's Pokémon are unable to battle. So then the winner of the battle and moving on to the Round of 32 is Michael Masi!"
The crowd roared for Michael's victory. He and Gra waved to the crowd then left the stage to the locker room.
Michael - "Thanks for the fun battle Gura."
Gura - "You too Michael. I totally thought I had you after knocking out Decidueye."
Michael - "I did too actually. Too bad you weren't paying attention to how much your Gyarados was taking damage from Decidueye despite my attacks being weaker."
Gura - "Yeah i got too confident there and underestimated how much damage Sceptile was gonna due once he was brought out. Oh well."
She held out her hand.
Gura - "Good luck to you and whoever else is remaining."
Michael grabbed Gura's hand and shook it.
Michael - "Thanks."
The duo then joined the others for dinner.
