A/N: Today is Thanksgiving in the US and in this fic….well, well, well, lookey here. I am thankful for you reading (I can hear your groans from here). I have had a chuckle reading your reviews about who Sarah met with…maybe we'll find out this chapter..

Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck

Devon found himself happy most mornings. Honestly, it was his default setting.

But today… today was just… well… Awesome!

His sister was coming to Thanksgiving. He was getting married in the spring to the love of his life. He was gaining another brother. All of that was great, but today… today, his sister was coming to Thanksgiving.

"Babe," he said, as he walked into the kitchen, seeing Ellie.

"Good morning, Devon," Ellie said with a smile, moving toward him and wrapping her arms around his neck, kissing him soundly. She grinned at him as she pulled back. "Excited to see your sister?"

"What can I say, El? She and I just hit it off from day one," Devon said with a shrug.

"It appears you're not the only one that hit it off with her on day one," Ellie said with a smile, turning to the stove to continue her preparations.

"Yeah, my entire family loves her," Devon said with a shrug. "She's one of us."

"Apparently my family is quite fond of her as well," Ellie said, her smile growing.

"Yeah, I am so glad that you and the Chuckster get along with Sarah," Devon replied. "It's always good when all of my family gets along."

Ellie turned to her fiancé, a smile on her face. "I don't think you understand, sweetie," Ellie said to him. "My brother seems to be quite interested in your sister."

"Oh, Ellie," Devon said, his face lighting up. "That would be awesome! Sarah deserves someone like your brother." He frowned at the look on her face. "Do you not think Sarah is good enough for your brother?"

"Devon, sweetie, that's not it," Ellie said shaking her head. "We need to stay out of this." Devon gave her a flat look. "I am staying out of it, but you need to."

"Me?" Devon asked.

"Yes, you," Ellie told him. "Devon, sweetie, you love that girl, as you should, and I know how you feel about my brother. If something between them is going to happen, you need to let it happen naturally."

"I can do that," Devon insisted.

"You also need to keep anything they share with you a secret, which we both know you cannot," she told him with a pointed look.

"Oh yes I can," Devon insisted.

"Devon," Ellie said, an amused smile on her face.

"Listen, if either of them say anything to me, which they may not because they might not be attracted to each other-"

"Oh, my brother is, and I get the feeling from some of the things Sarah said, she is as well," Ellie said with a smirk on her face.

"Awesome," Devon said. Ellie gave him an amused look. "I mean it's great for them, whatever they want. I am staying out of it." Ellie shook her head. "I swear I am."

"Fine," Ellie said turning back the food.

"But you have to as well," Devon added.

"Of course I will," Ellie said, still working on food prep.

"No, El, I mean it," Devon insisted. She turned to look at him. "Babe, I know, you've practically raised him, and you look out for him, as you should. But this, this is something we need to stay out of."

"Fine," she chirped. She pointed a spatula at him. "We both need to stay out of this."

"Not a problem," he said, crossing his arms.

"Not a problem for me," she replied, turning back to the food. Devon walked over to start his smoothie. He could do this. He wouldn't say anything to either, about anything.

God, he hoped they got together. They both deserved someone amazing.

Sarah was munching on a carrot from the appetizer trey, listening as Ellie, Honey, Devon, and Woody talked. Devon's other two brothers hadn't been able to make it home for Thanksgiving, so everyone coming was there, except for Chuck.

She was trying to act cool and collected, but she had to admit, she was nervous. Chuck hadn't called or texted since that night. She wanted to roll her eyes at herself. It had barely been over thirty-six hours. There were many good reasons why Chuck hadn't texted her, or called.

She could also think of many bad reasons why he had not.

"Did the turkey get a pardon?" she heard from the living room. She turned, and there he was, grinning at his sister. And then his eyes locked with hers. Those thoughts of the bad reasons why Chuck hadn't contacted her evaporated. No one could smile at her like that and permit her the perception that she had upset him. "Hey Woodcombs… Ellie."

He smiled at Sarah. "Sarah Mae," he said.

Devon looked confused and turned to Sarah. "I thought it was Lisa?" he asked her.

"Ah ha!" Chuck said, his finger in the air like he had melodramatically solved a mystery. "So your name is Lisa Mae!"

Sarah couldn't stop herself from laughing at Chuck if she wanted. "No you, goof," she said, chuckling. "It's Sarah Lisa Walker." Chuck stood there nodding, a proud smile on his face. "So you approve?"

"It's not for me to approve or disapprove," Chuck said in a low voice. "But it does suit you." He started walking toward the kitchen.

"Nope," Ellie said, waving him away. "You, Devon, and Sarah, go watch TV or something."

"I can help," Sarah insisted.

"No," Ellie insisted, pouring Sarah a liberal glass of wine and handing it to her. "I know how much you and your brother love watching football."

"I don't love watching football," Chuck said.

"Yes, but you're a pest in the kitchen," Ellie told him.

"That's fair," Chuck admitted. "Harsh, but fair."

"Come on, Pest," Sarah said, walking over and taking his arm, leading him to the living room. "Let your sister cook in peace."

"Why are you calling me a pest?"

"Cause you keep insisting that my middle name is Mae," Sarah told him.

"Are they…?" Honey asked Ellie softly, pointing at Chuck and Sarah.

"I have no idea, and we're all staying out of it," Ellie told Honey, a grin plastered on her face.

"Can I go watch football?" Woody asked.

"No, you are going to grease that pan and start the rolls," Honey told him. Woody pouted. "What, you don't want to butter my rolls?"

"Oh, God, you two," Ellie groaned. "Please, I'm trying to make food, not throw up on it."

Back in the living room, Devon sat on one end of the couch, and Chuck sat in the recliner to let Sarah sit close to her brother. Sarah sat on the far end of the couch, near Chuck. Devon turned back to the kitchen, to find Ellie glaring at him. Devon quickly turned back around, grabbed the remote, and turned on the TV.

"Big football fan, Sarah?" Chuck asked.

"Eh," she said, shrugging. "When I first moved in with my family, Devon was finishing up his recovery from his football injury, and I watched some film with him."

"Watched film with Devon?" Chuck asked, with a low whistle. "Well, la-de-da."

"Not a football fan, Chuck?" Sarah asked, teasing him. Devon scoffed.

"Of course I am," Chuck replied. "Who do we have on the pitch today?" Sarah turned to him slowly. "What?"

"We are talking about American football, not soccer," Sarah told him.

"I know plenty about American football," Chuck told her. "More than you do about superheroes."

"What's that position?" Sarah asked, pointing at the screen.

"Oh, the guy rubbing the other guy's butt?" Chuck asked.

"Chuckster," Devon groaned.

"That's the point guard, he's going to get the ball and dribble it," Chuck continued. Sarah began to laugh. "In a minute, he's going to throw the sports ball to the shortstop for a three-pointer."

"Devon," Ellie called. "I need your help."

"Babe," Devon replied, turning to look at her. She widened her eyes at him, and thrust her chin. Devon stood up, knowing that she was trying to get him to leave Chuck and Sarah alone. "Yell if anything happens."

"Will do, Captain," Chuck told him, making Devon chuckle. Sarah shook her head at Chuck. He leaned toward her. "Your head okay?"

"Is that why you didn't phone or text me?" Sarah asked. "And yes, it feels fine."

"Well, that, and I know how important your work is," Chuck told her. He stopped, seeing the look on her face. "Did I say something wrong?"

"Please don't ever not contact me because you're afraid it will interrupt my work," Sarah said to him. "You're my navigator, and I meant all of that. I know in the past…" she trailed off.

"Hey, I didn't mean it negatively," Chuck told her. "I was hoping that you getting away from work gave you the inspiration you needed, that's all. I just wanted to give you space so you could heal up if your head hurt, or work if you had inspiration. I knew I would see you today."

"I mean you didn't know," Sarah said with a grin.

"Yeah I did," Chuck said, turning back to the game, with a confidence that made Sarah's stomach do flops, and feel a heat inside of her she didn't know that she had ever felt. "You promised Devon you'd be here." She let out a quiet breath, bothered, yet thrilled how much Chuck's words had affected her. "Uh-oh," Chuck said.

"What?" Sarah asked, looking at the TV.

"Receiver in motion, Jet Sweep," Chuck told her. Sarah's eyes widened. "Called it!" he said, slapping his hands together as the ball was handed off from the quarterback to the wide receiver that had been in motion. "Jet Sweep, Awesome!" Chuck yelled out.

Devon let out a whoop and came back into the living room in time to see the replay. "Man, look at that blocking down field," Devon said, beaming. "I love college football!"

"Never know what you're gonna see," Chuck agreed. "One minute it could be the Pistol formation, next minute Maryland I, the next minute the Wishbone, and then for giggles, line up in a Pro formation and run some RPO." Devon pointed at Chuck, grinning madly.

"Sweetie," Ellie called with a honey in her voice, covering the tone underneath it that screamed "GET IN HERE." Devon headed back to the kitchen.

"I thought you were a professional football fan?" Sarah called after him.

"I've always liked college, but Chuckster really turned me on to the college game. There's nothing like a little late night Saturday Hawaii football to end your night," Devon replied. Ellie took him by the shoulder and led him further into the kitchen.

Sarah turned to Chuck. "So you do like football," Sarah accused.

"Nah, not really," Chuck told her. "The brain damage being done…" he shuddered. "But, Devon didn't have anyone to watch it with him, so I learned the game."

"You what?" Sarah asked, stunned. "Get over here," she said, pointing to the spot beside her on the couch. Chuck got up and sat down beside her. Neither noticed Ellie quietly celebrating in the kitchen. "Also, what is RPO?"

"Run-Pass Option," Chuck replied. Sarah nodded. "Both of his brothers were gone, his parents go antiquing every weekend. Ellie is usually working, on call, or sleeping on most Saturday afternoons, and Devon would find himself alone on this couch, on dreary fall afternoons, by himself. He's been amazing to me, so I started watching football with him. In the spring, we watch different sci-fi series. He loves Star Trek Deep Space Nine."

Sarah stared at Chuck like he had grown a second head out of his shoulders. "You don't like football, yet watch it with him so he's not alone?" Chuck shrugged and nodded. Suddenly she was hugging him, and Chuck found himself confused. "Thank you."

"I did it for him," Chuck told her.

"That's even better," Sarah said, squeezing him tightly.

The two of them watched TV until halftime, and again, tried to get permission to help out in the kitchen. Ellie needed a few things from the store, and Chuck offered to go get them. He started to ask Sarah if she wanted to go with him, but saw she was talking to Devon. He grinned, loving the smiles on both of their faces from being reunited.

"So, Chuckster said you had a business deal go south on you?" Devon asked her during the conversation.

"Not go south, just took a really strange turn," Sarah admitted. "You ever hear of a place called Constellation Electronics?" Devon took a drink of his water, praying Sarah didn't see the surprise on his face.

"Yeah, yeah," Devon replied. "Is there a problem there?"

"I met some weird guy named Morgan Grimes," Sarah told him. "I need to get another meeting with him."

"Sarah, sweetie," Honey called out. "Can you come here a second." Sarah grinned at her brother and went over to see what her mom wanted. Devon quickly moved over to where his wife was, by herself, preparing a dish.

"Ellliieeeeeee," Devon said in a low voice. "Did you know that Sarah is here on business?"

"I did," Ellie replied.

"Did you know it was with Constellation Electronics, and she met with Morgan Grimes?" Devon asked. Ellie's head whipped up.

"You have to warn him," Ellie hissed at Devon.

"I thought we had to stay out of it?" Devon asked, confused.

"No, not Chuck… Morgan!" she said through clenched teeth.

"Ohhhh," Devon replied. It was then the door opened. Both Ellie and Devon's eyes went wide.

"You," they heard Sarah say in a low voice.

"Hey Morgs!" Devon yelled, making his way quickly across the apartment. Sarah gave Devon a look. "Have you met my sister, Sarah? Sarah, this is Chuck's best friend, Morgan. Morgan, you and I need to have a convo outside." Devon pushed Morgan out the door, started to close it, and stopped, turning back to his sister. "When Chuck's parents left, Morgan was there for him. He's been Chuck's best friend for nearly twenty years, Sarah. Please, no business today. Please?"

"I won't," Sarah promised. Devon nodded and shut the door. He walked Morgan away from the apartment.

"What is going on?" Morgan asked.

"Long, drawn out and complicated?" Devon asked. "Or short, to the point, but I'll probably miss a few details?"

"Do the short one, chances are I'd miss a few details in the long drawn out one," Morgan admitted.

"Okay," Devon said, nodding. "My sister, Sarah, is here to buy Constellation Electronics. She's met Chuck, pretty sure both have a thing for each other, and Ellie and I are staying out of it, which means you are staying out of it, which means…"

"She can't know everything?" Morgan asked.

"Right," Devon told Morgan. "And, she wants another meeting with you."

"Devon, I… you know his rules," Morgan protested.

"Morgs… that's my sister," Devon pleaded. "Chuck is… Chuck is talking to her."

"Oh," Morgan replied, nodding. "You want them together."

"Of course I do!" Devon told Morgan. "Two of my favorite people, and they seem perfect for each other!"

"Her?" Morgan asked.

"You only know who she is in the business world," Devon told Morgan. "She thinks she is cursed, or some nonsense like that, and will be alone because all she will care about is money." Morgan widened his eyes and didn't say anything. "Is she really that bad?"

"Oh, no," Morgan told Devon. Devon blew out a breath. "She appears to be worse. She plans on ripping the company apart."

"Oh God," Devon groaned. "Meet with her, please?"

Morgan nodded and sighed. "Okay. Next Tuesday?"

"Awesome!" Devon said, grinning. He looked up, and the grin fell from his face as he saw Chuck returning from the store. "Go talk to him, okay?" Morgan nodded. "I'm gonna have to do something I said I wouldn't."

"Got it," Morgan told Devon. "Hey buddy!" Morgan yelled to Chuck, as Devon headed back inside. "Let me help you with those bags." Devon walked back in, and found Sarah sitting on the couch, watching the game.

"Hey," he said, sitting down beside her, quickly. "Just so you know, Chuck… he doesn't care much about business, so if I were you, I wouldn't talk about you and Morgan meeting, and the deal." Sarah gave him a look. "He's more about helping people, and some of that stuff… he just doesn't care about."

"I get that from him," Sarah said, nodding. "I promise, I won't say anything to Chuck."

"Good," Devon told her. "I got you a meeting. Morgan's doing it as a favor for Chuck, but don't say anything."

"Thank you, Devon," she said, hugging her brother. This was it, she would get the deal done. "What can I do to make it up to you?"

Devon shrugged. "Just enjoy life," Devon told her. The door opened and Devon stood up to help Chuck and Morgan with the supplies. Sarah beamed, thrilled that she was going to pull this off.

A/N: I mean….she is….it's just gonna take a minute. Next time:

"I don't do Christmas," Sarah said with a shrug. Chuck turned to Devon, who shrugged. He turned to Honey and Woody, who both shrugged. "I mean, I get them gifts." Chuck turned back to her. "I do," she insisted.

"But… but… Christmas isn't about gifts. At least, not physical ones you can buy," Chuck told her.

"It's not?" Sarah asked, looking around the room for help.

"Sorry, girl, you're on your own with that one," Ellie said, waving towards her brother. "Be gentle with her, Chuck."

Thanks for reading.
