They sat in silence, Cindy driving them to Hammerhead.
As it turns out Cindy got a call from a hunter about an abandoned black car. The one they were driving in, the blonde thought it was the regalia. She was worried. She hasn't heard anything about Noct besides Lunas wedding. Then to hear what's happening in the capital of course she's worried.
Cindy looks over to the brunette. Her face is heavily beat, her knuckles are covered with dirt and dried blood, can even see bruises forming under the knuckles, her legs are covered with dirt, scratches, and bruises. She was in a tough fight and seeing as the baby and boy are scratch and dirt free the blonde will conclude that she fought for them. When they get to the garage it might be best to clean them up. Don't want the scratches to get infected. She's got questions though.
"What are ya'll doin' without your parents?" Cindy asks as they cruise down the road.
"I only have- had my grandfather." Talcott answers, head down, hand clutching onto his pants. Cindy furrows her eyebrows. Maybe she shouldn't have asked.
"My dad is the kings shield." Iris answers, putting her hand on Talcott shoulder. Trying to comfort him silently. Cindy nods. Yeah, she shouldn't have asked.
"Why are ya headin' to Hammerhead?" she asks. Talcott looks at Iris.
"We need to go somewhere safe but far from the camp. We weren't safe there. Prompto and Gladio told me about Hammerhead so I thought we'd go there to." Iris says.
"That's some good thinkin' I'm sure Paw Paw wouldn't mind. But don't get comfortable I'll be puttin' ya'll to work." Cindy looks at them with a wink. Talcott smiles with a nod. Iris nods. "Whose the baby?" she then asks.
"He's Astrum. Prompto's baby." Iris says.
"And Nocts son." Talcott adds. Cindy almost swerved off the road.
"Prom and Noctis? Together?" Cindy asks shocked. The other two nod.
"That's why we are running." Iris says. Cindy understands the situation more now but still can't wrap her head around Prom and Noctis having a baby.
"Hit me upside the head and call me Shiva," Cindy mutters under her breath. "we'll need to tell Paw Paw about this." Cindy tells them. Prancing around with the princes baby in the open is not good.
It takes them a little longer to get to the garage, the sun setting, but the garage busy with cars. Since people are fleeing from the crown city peoples car are breaking down. Or they need gas. Cindy parks them into an empty garage on the side, away from the main garage.
Cindy turns to the two, "follow me," she commands them. They all get out of the truck, Iris and Talcott sprinting around to get to Cindy. She leads them to a mostly empty room, full of tires and car parts. On top of a pile of tires is a small modern radio. About the size of a football, a small screen on one side with the mobs and speaker on the other side, antenna poking out. Not that modern, but called that because of it having a screen. "Wait here." she tells them, but the two zero in on the radio. Picking it up to see nothing has changed. On the bottom of the screen flashed evacuate and the Citadel looking more destroyed than before, other than that nothing else. They can hear Cindy shouting for her grandfather.
"What are ya shouting' for? I'm old not deaf-" Cid grumbles as he walks in pausing when he spots the two by his radio. "Who'd ya pick up?" he wonders. Happy his granddaughter has a good heart but not everyone is to be trusted so easily.
"This is..." she starts but realizes something, "I'm afraid I didn't catch ya name." she says closing the door.
"I'm Iris Amicitia, and this is my charge Astrum Lucis Caelum." Iris says pulling out her fathers badge to show. Cid stares at it for a while before nodding. She puts it away.
"I'm Tacott, my grandfather served the Amicita house for generations." he says.
"Astrum is Prompto and Noctis son." Cindy points out, his name going over Cid's head the first time. His eyes widen in shock.
"Prompto and the prince?" The older man asks shocked. Iris and Talcott nod.
"They aren't officially together but they do love each other. Just couldn't do anything about it until now." Iris adds so they can understand.
"Are they okay? Haven't heard a peep from them." Cindy wonders, eyes furrow in worry.
"Prompto was taken in Niflheim so Noct and the others are working to get her." Iris explains.
"Then I'm sure they are tryin' their best. You three look like you could rest. Let's fix ya up Iris then see about getting ya somethin' to eat." Cindy says.
Cid, Talcott and Cindy leave going to get things. Iris staying to protect Astrum.
Cindy comes back first with a potion. Iris smashes it on her and feels her body quickly healing itself. The sensation very odd, her whole body heating up, then her body ache from the force of rushing her body to heal. This is her first time using one, she didn't know it felt like that. She's seen her brother use it when he trains. Now she's hungry and wants a nap. She hands Astrum to Cindy then lifts her shirt, Cindy gasping, the large bruise she felt is now significantly smaller than before. She covers herself then reach forward to hold Astrum.
Cid comes in with Talcott, his back pack gone, as they walk into the room with warmed food. They gather around sitting on tires. They eat their meal in silence.
"What's goin' on in Insomnia?" Cid wonders.
"Kingsglaive are rebelling against the crown. The crownsguard are fighting them." Iris answers finishing her meal. She moves around to get a bottle for some formula to feed Astrum.
"So people are evacuating." Cid nods now knowing what's going on. "Guessin' ya'll be stayin' here till it's over." he looks at the brunette taking care of the baby. Iris nods.
"Dad said he'll tell us when it's safe." Iris says.
"Till then ya can help around here." Cindy smiles. Talcott nods. Iris reluctantly nods. She doesn't want to be a freeloader but she doesn't want to be away from Astrum. They will be safe right?
