Kaze wouldn't mention it, but I saw what happened when she and him fought that monster.
To make sure that it wouldn't come back again, Lady Weiss blocked the attack with the katana. It broke. And then, she suddenly charge at it. Even with the broken katana, and in reaching distance of the monster, she slashed at it more times that when she attacked its back. And lastly, she jumped back, and then fire started coming from her mouth, burning the monster and any hope of it coming back from its wounds.
Who exactly were we trying to get back to Hoshido?
"Rinkah. There's one of our posts up ahead where we can rest for a bit."
"Good." I moved my shoulder to adjust Weiss. She was feeling heavy after carrying her for so long.
…
*pop* *pop* *crackle*
My eyes were still closed, but I woke to the sound of popping, the warmth of a fire, and the smell of smoke. I felt my arms behind my back, and my feet tied up by my ankles. I was still tired, but I stifled a yawn.
I opened my eyes. This was…a Hoshidan residence-there was that woman, tending the flames and a pot over the fire. "You…Where am I…? Where's Elise…?"
"She's safe. Back at that fortress."
Elise was safe. Thanks the gods. I was still very tired. "So…what will you do with me now? Am I to be your prisoner?"
"What we were supposed to do in the first place-return you home to Hoshido."
"My home…is with the Kingdom of Nohr."
Rinkah sighed heavily. "We are returning you home to Hoshido, to your birth mother."
I remembered the talk we had back at the interrogation. "Who is she?"
"I can't say."
"Can't, or Won't?"
"Both. Think of the lives that we had to lose in order to get you here."
"And you as well, Daughter of the Flame Tribe Chieftain. Your actions against my home, my house, and my family are on you and those that decided such."
*FWOOOSH*
The flames started to burn higher for a moment, but they calmed down. She then checked the food in the pot and sighed in relief.
"Rinkah." The ninja, Kaze. "How is she doing?"
"Your poison didn't work on her. I work better carrying unconscious bodies."
I was suddenly set upright from behind and turned to face the ninja, himself. He bowed lowly. "Lady Weiss. I am Suzukaze, a ninja of Hoshido. I am sorry."
"You were the one-"
He suddenly brought a hand to his lips and blew hard.
*zip*
This time, it was on my neck. Not…again…
…
That power of hers must have weakened the potency of the sedative. But it wasn't enough to fully resist it, and that would help Rinkah. "Are you content?"
She shrugged. "Thanks, Kaze. Food's ready."
"I sent a messenger on ahead of us. We're to be back in Hoshido just a few hours past sunrise."
Rinkah prepared me a bowl of what was in the pot. It…hmm…it is purple. A small sip-
*cough* *cough* *cough*
I wasn't coughing. Rinkah struggled a bit with her first spoon, but managed to swallow it down. She then smiled, nodded and then continued spooning the rest of the food into her mouth.
Huh. I continued with my first sip. "BLEAUGH!" Almost burnt! As if any energy I had was taken out in an instant!
"What's the matter? Can't handle the spices?"
"That, and more. I should've not let you cook." I took the pot and emptied it outside.
"Come on, I was about to finish that!"
"Rather that you not die of whatever poison you had me ingest, and decided to give yourself. Let's go."
"…Fine. But you give me some of your rations." Rinkah shouldered Weiss' body.
"Fair enough."

Another hour, another chapter.
Kaze's original name is Suzukaze. I decided to utilize that for this chapter, even for just a sentence.
End of the week, so I give myself Sunday off, as usual. This should give me the energy continue. Also, less than a week before I finish my graduate's degree!
