Vạn Thư looked at Yukari with an angry look. Yukari just said everything about her scheme with a straight face. Vạn Thư roared in pure anger as she pointed her blade at Yukari, she now could understand Yukari dragged her into a part of her plan regardless of her opinion.
Vạn Thư: YOU ARE DISGUSTING! HOW DARE YOU CONTROL THE FATE OF MY NATION FOR YOUR SELF INTEREST!
Her next line was a death threat instead of a warning
Vạn Thư: This is my last warning: STAY OUT OF HAKONIWAN AFFAIR AND STOP BOTHERING ME!
Vạn Thư flied away smashing the whole ground from above. Her rage was so great that she didn't care about what will happen to Yukari anymore. Yukari simply looked at her with an unmoved expression.
Yukari: Hmmm…
Vạn Thư sat down to a tree on top of a hill to calm herself down. She couldn't think straight anymore, the resident of Gensokyo didn't want her to have a peaceful retirement. Hakoniwa meanwhile stopped caring about a Librarian like her. It made her unable to know what to do next.
Vạn Thư: Huh?
She looked at the far away location and found out a spark of flame on there. Something is burning.
Vạn Thư: The capital of Hakoniwa…is burning!?
Vạn Thư tried to fly again but she suddenly fell into the soft grass below. The enhancement spell stopped working. She became a normal person again!
Vạn Thư: No no no NO! This can't happen now! Damn it Yukari!
She realized she committed a fatal mistake by letting her anger getting control of her. Yukari had been freed from the spell earlier when Vạn Thư flied away. By disabling Vạn Thư power Yukari pulled the plug as she decided giving Vạn Thư power was a mistake, Vạn Thư refused to be a part of her plan and Yukari refused to help Vạn Thư anymore.
The scroll that Yukari gave her could disable her power at any moment Yukari wished for. This means Vạn Thư couldn't regain her power unless she begged Yukari for it.
Yukari: Let's see how would you deal with the new chaos called Second Hakoniwan Warring States
Yukari looked at Vạn Thư through her gap, Ran and Chen ate the popcorn in silent while watching the scene as they wondered how she would handle the situation without their help. Vạn Thư had to walk by foot to the nearest village asking for information. Everyone told her that the young Emperor Iruka had been assassinated by an unknown threat. Every general blamed each other and proceed to restart a new Warring States Era to claim the throne for themselves
Vạn Thư: So that's how it was…why everything has to happen in the worst possible moment!?
Vạn Thư pulled her hair in frustration. Not only she couldn't regain any of her power but there was nobody in here that could help her, her only hope of getting any help was Yukari's gap but her rage at Yukari earlier ruined her relationship with her.
Vạn Thư: Geez…
Soldier A: Is that the legendary Librarian!?
Soldier B: I though she were dead?
Soldier C: So the rumor was true, she is alive!
A group of soldier gathered around her as they kneel before her in happiness. She could recognize their face as she knew their leader.
Vạn Thư: General Itsuki is around here wasn't it?
Later on at Itsuki's camp
Itsuki: It was a great honor to serve you again, Hakoniwan Librarian.
Itsuki bowed in a solemn manner, Itsuki was the honorable general who treated Vạn Thư as a potential leader if it wasn't for her fate of being a Librarian. It was a great luck that she managed to meet him instead of other. Vạn Thư put her hand onto his shoulder and said calmly
Vạn Thư: No need for such formality, I am no more a Librarian the moment I retired.
Soldier: But you can't abandon us now! Everything is on fire out there!
A soldier protested as he begged her, other soldiers also agree with him as they couldn't accept her retirement.
Itsuki: They got a point, Vạn Thư. I knew you and your personality, you don't want to be dragged into another war after Sengi turned against you but I beg you. Please help us stop this new Warring States Era before it get worse!
Vạn Thư looked at the sky filled with smoke and burning flame. She knew how dire the situation was. Losing the Emperor will open up a huge power vacuum and there was no heir for the throne so far.
Vạn Thư: What do you wish me to do? I got no army or magical power, most of the scrolls had been burned by the time this event happened.
Itsuki: Become our leader! Become our Empress! People had been hailing you as a hero ever since you withered away inside that burning imperial library. You must claim the throne for yourself when there was no legal heir to continue it!
Every soldier bowed before her, even the villagers from the outside bowed before her as they treated her as a true hero. Vạn Thư was moved by their great respect for her as she wiped her tears. Still, the situation forced her out of her hibernation and she couldn't walk away from its path anymore.
Vạn Thư stood in front of her clearing her throat as she made her speech before everyone.
Vạn Thư: Truth to be told, I already lost my will to fight the moment Sengi betrayed me. I set the imperial library on fire and went into hibernation because I got sick of everything. Yet everything we fought for are on fire again! This is not how it should be! Hakoniwa must have its deserved peace!
Everyone nodded in agreement. She could see the determined look from all of them
Vạn Thư: Hence why, we must walk into the path of violent again. Those dirty plotters are trying to claim power for themselves at the expense of people's life. I hereby declare myself as the new Empress of Hakoniwa! I will set everything right by putting an end to this chaos! Hakoniwa can only regain its peace by the fury of its own people!
Vạn Thư raised her blade onto the sky. Everyone raised their fists onto the sky roaring in determination.
Vạn Thư: A WAR TO END ALL WAR!
