INTRODUCTION TO:

Once apon a heart

Once apon a time, a phrase that strikes child like desires into the bravest of hearts.

Into mine it only strikes fear, the hero won't always be there.

Neither am I.

My life was revolving around a strange world, not my own, not entirely someone else's. This was the world of Final Fantasy X-2.

A game was controlling my life. The way I lived, breathed, ate, dreamed, played and died was governed by the imaginary.

This is not your story, it is mine.

The three men stood before us and poured their hearts and souls out to Spira, I felt my heart thumping louder and louder until the drumbeats created a strong tribal rhythm. The words rippled from the mouths of the men and into the beat of the strange sonnet. The building pressure in my head constricted my thoughts and blinded my vision, letting out a cry I felt the pressure become too much. And it stopped.

I-impossible! The words of the speech were not the beloved freedom that they once were to me; it was a desperate whisper of warning.

"Rapier, rapier, rapier, rapier, rapier…." They whispered desperately, panicking I fumbled for the switch to my PS2. I found it but wasn't quick enough.

More is the pity.

My hero's reached out from the screen and grabbed me with cold clammy hands and pulled me with them. Into their world.

Into hell.
