Chapter Eight: As Fire and Ice Turns
Saori Kido's Point of View
By: Lady Mochizuki
Dedicated to Virgin of Aquarius
I invited my Gold Saints to come to Japan to visit. The boys are overjoyed by the Gold Saints coming to visit, except perhaps Anja, my Reindeer Saint, who has been the butt of the jokes of the boys and the Gold Saints of late. She's the oldest of the Bronze Saints and also the weakest one. I also know she's crushing on an Ice Wielder named Camus.
I watched as Seiya and Ikki started poking fun at Anja, calling her a weakling and saying she should give up being a Saint and find someone to settle down with. Anja must, to her credit, ignores them. It didn't help much with Hyoga egging them on until Muse snapped at them to leave Anja alone, but by then, Anja had left the room and went outside, walking past Milo and Camus.
"Well, there goes the crybaby Anja- Milo didn't get to finish his sentence because Anja backhanded Milo, making him fall backward, and this is the first time I have seen Anja truly pissed off. I know I should say something, but I decided against it because, in a way, he deserves what he is getting as Camus shakes his head at his best friend. He didn't make a move to stop Anja, either.
Anja stalks Milo slowly as fire and ice whirl around The Reindeer Saint wildly, her cosmos flaring with power like Seiya's. Then it dawned on me Anja isn't weak, but I believe she's just afraid of hurting someone, so she holds back as her Master had told me. Oh dear, she's not holding back. I came out as she punched the ground seven centimeters away from an astonished Milo's head, leaving a massive crater in the driveway. I heard a snarl of frustration and anger,
" Asshole, insult me again, and I promise I won't hold back. Next time, the crater will be your damn head." with that, Anja walks away from the surprise. Milo and the other Gold Saints give way as she walks past them. It didn't help with Blizzard (Siberian tiger) and Inferno (Samoyed) snarling or growling at them.
Sighs.
This isn't going as planned now. Anja will most likely teleport to Iceland or stay away until Gold Saints leave. Darn it, I was trying to match her up with Camus, and Milo had to go and ruin it. Why can't that man shut his mouth or leave the girl alone?
I began chewing on my lower lip in deep thought.
Camus helps Milo up and smacks him upside his head. I could tell Camus was upset with Milo because he walked away from his friend as he said something the rest of us couldn't hear. I saw Millo turn beet red as Camus walked toward the mansion.
It was close to midnight as Anja walked into the foyer, and I greeted her softly,
"Anja, please come and join me for some hot chocolate?"
Anja looked like she was going to refuse because Milo and Camus were sitting on the couch. Milo looked uncomfortable, while Camus was always calm, relaxed, and collected.
Milo stood up; he walked over to Anja, dropped to one knee, took her right hand in his left, and mumbled something.
"Milo, louder so we all can hear you, or we are through," Camus stated rather calmly, but beneath the surface, I could tell how angry Camus was with Milo.
Milo cleared his throat and said loud and clear,
"Anja, I am sorry for upsetting you earlier today; please forgive me?"
I saw an eyebrow arch in suspicion as Anja looked down on Milo with cool pity and sighed softly as she said gently,
"Milo, stand up, please, and I forgive you."
Milo stood awkwardly, kissing her cheek and leaving the room soon after.
"Reindeer Anja, you are way too kind-hearted and forgiving for your good.," said a voice behind her.
Anja smiles fondly and turns to see her elderly Master Finn. Finn's slate gray eyes fell on Camus as he spoke in French to Camus, who turned beet red.
"So boy, when will you get off your young keister and ask my Anja out for a date? Lady Athena tells me about a pair of knuckleheads who likes each other, but neither is asking the other out?"
Anja fell on her knees, laughing softly, while Camus pulled her up.
Anja smiles shyly at Camus and although no words are spoken. The two held hands and walked upstairs together, smiling softly.
Finn and I only smiled happily at them.
They would have figured it out independently, but a little shove also helped.
