Ruthie Camden is a tenth grade student at Kennedy High School in Glen Oak, California who is running for Prom Queen in the junior/senior prom. Her boyfriend is Martin Brewer and is running for Prom King. The story follows them during the last few weeks of school, through all the stuff that occurs up until the last day of school for them. High school is supposed to be one of the best times ever, meant to be filled with great times with best friends that will be remembered for the rest of your life. But for Ruthie and her friends, this year will be filled with good and bad memories.
