Chapter 25: Legal Loli

"Welcome, Itsuka-chan, and Itsuka-kun." Editor Yamada in the office stood up and greeted the "sibling" with a smile. "Please have a seat."

Shido and Natsumi bowed slightly before sitting down. The office was nothing new to Shido, but it was for Natsumi, who gripped Shido's hand tightly due to nervousness.

"Relax, he's not gonna eat you." Shido teased Natsumi a bit, but he patted her head with his other hand, reassuring the manga-loving girl.

"He's right, I don't bite at all." Editor Yamada showed a warm smile, before holding out a pile of documents. "I really like your draft, Itsuka-chan, so do you wanna make a debut?"

His meaning was obvious: He accepted Natsumi's work and wanted her to be one of the mangaka representing his company! That was a huge acknowledgment coming from him.

Natsumi was flabbergasted, not knowing what to respond in such a situation. She had dreamed of this moment several times, yet she lost her train of thought when it really happened.

Suddenly, she felt a grip on her hand, and it was Shido applying strength to her. Recognizing his encouragement, she took a deep breathe and responded:

"Yes, I'm happy to work for your library."

At this moment, she felt more confident than she had ever felt before.

"Thank you, Itsuka-chan." Editor smiled and handed out a contract to the girl. "Would you please read the contract with your brother and sign it if you accept the terms and conditions?"

On the contract, it said that she would be required to publish a chapter of her work every month on the serial manga. Once she fulfilled her task, she would be paid a certain amount of commission depending on her popularity.

(Manga artists are mostly paid by the page. New mangakas earn between 10,000 and 15,000 yen per page.)

Unsatisfied with the terms and conditions, Shido stepped in and did some negotiations, which improved things for Natsumi quite a bit. In the end, both parties reached an agreement, and Natsumi signed it without worries.

Finally, the deal was done, and the couple left the office happily.

"Thank you, Shido! I can't believe the deal got this good!" Natsumi exclaimed excitedly, barely containing her joy.

"Of course, anything for my Natsumi." Shido affectionately squeezed Natsumi's cheeks, making her blush.

"But lunch break is almost over, and you haven't eaten yet." Natsumi shook her head and changed the subject, clearly she was concerned for Shido's belly.

"Don't worry, let's go home and eat." Shido took Natsumi to a corner on the street, and after he made sure no surveillance cameras were on their tails, he activated the powers of Michael and teleported again.

Once they reached home, Shido quickly opened the fridge and took out two bentos that he prepared beforehand.

"I knew today's schedule would be tight, so I made some food for us." Shido smiled as he put the bentos in the microwave, heating them up. "Let's wash our hands and get ready to eat."

Natsumi was amazed by how prepared and organized Shido was. It was one of the many traits that she loved him for. But of course, she was too shy to say it outloud.

The two only had 10 minutes left to eat before the afternoon classes began, but they were unfazed by it. They solely focused on the good time they shared together at lunch.

After fulfilling their bellies, Natsumi decided to stay home and work on her manga a little bit, to which Shido agreed.

Shido teleported back to the men's bathroom of his school right before the bell rang for class, and he made it to his classroom just in time.

It was such a convenient method, saving a lot of time for him. Maybe he should utilize it more often. But on second thought, it would be risky to do it every day, so maybe he should just be normal like everyone else.

After school, Shido found Eriri and Utaha, leaving the school together. They walked to a nearby shopping street and found a cafe, where Natsumi was already waiting.

"Eriri, Utaha..." Natsumi shouted happily. It was clear that she liked these two girls very much.

"Hello, Natsumi-chan." The two nodded, feeling happy to see her after separating for a while. Natsumi was so cute, they naturally wouldn't forget about her.

"Order whatever you want! My treat!" Shido said with a smile. Although it was Natsumi who invited them, she currently had no money in this world, and the approval of the library would not grant her money so quickly, so he paid on her behalf.
