Ainz looked into the room feeling somewhat strange; Maples was... okay? He break into the room in a bad way so Ainz felt complicated and uncomfortable, he wanted to try to talk to Maple but it seemed that it was not the best time since she was having fun whit that knight that she almost kill.

Enri, who guide him into the hood, peeked inside and noticed that both Maple and Gazef had sighed and were relaxing on the bed, Gazef affectionately caressing Maple's hair while she wrapped her wings around him and Syroup lay down next to them.

Enri and Momon stared at the image from the entrance somewhat awkwardly without saying anything instantly. Enri noticed that the bed had collapsed under a great weight and for his part Ainz noticed the chains that Maple was wearing. The initial confusion turned to anger which was assuaged by his emotion suppressor as Ainz made various assumptions, his black armor echoing through the room as he stepped forward.

Maple was the first to raise her head slightly followed shortly by Gazef, mistrust filling Maple's eyes for a second before she recognized her arch-nemesis's [Perfect Warrior] skill.

Before Ainz knew it, Maple jumped at him. On reflex he tried to stop time but [perfect warrior] didn't let him and even if he could do it without being limited it wouldn't matter much as Maple had resistance to time magic.

In a second Maple was on top of Ainz, climbing up his armor and hanging onto his back.

Ainz deactivated [Perfect Warrior] while preparing for a counterattack. He had fallen right into the trap! If he did nothing, he would soon receive a destructive impact from [Shield Bash]! That ability that scaled based on VIT was a meteorite in Maple's hands.

Re-equipping his items Ainz exposed his skeletal skull and began to cast [Skeleton Wall], however at that moment Maple's eyes widened with happiness and a kiss on Ainz's skeletal cheekbone completely unbalanced the Overlord. Ainz's emotion suppression seemed to work at 200% after that Maple's attack. The last time Ainz had checked Maple didn't have any attacks that disrupts castings or that influence into his mind! Was that kiss her trap card?! An attack capable of nullifying both his magic and his emotion-suppressing passive?!

"Momongaaaaaaaaaaaa!" The Overlord suddenly focused on the girl in front of him who yelled in his face. "Is that really you?! Wait what are you doing here? Were you isekai-ed too?" Maple's bright and excited face suddenly turned red with embarrassment. "Oh! Maybe I'm going a little fast?"

Ainz looked at Maple's shining face and sighed despite not having any lungs, what was he worrying about to begin with? Grabbing Maple by the collar of the armor, he took her off and left her by his side. Maple did not resist, her eyes were downcast in shame and she seemed quite shy but still excited, a shiver ran through Ainz as he remembered so what had happened in the last few days; The Overlord stood imposingly at least twice as tall as Maple before realizing the awkwardness of the situation. Bringing out his best role-playing gifts, Ainz cleared his non-existent throat before speaking.

"It's been a while since we last spoke in person, 'Knight of absolute obliteration '." Maple scratched the back of her head as she averted her head trying to remember the role she used to play as a guild leader.

"Right... A lot has happened since, hasn't it Momonga-dono?" Maple lost herself in her thoughts for a few moments before coming back to reality. "Oh! About the declaration to destroy Nazarick..." Ainz's mind began to plot defense plans at full speed. "Uh… Could you please forget about it?" As Maple exclaimed, she bowed to Ainz.

"...Huh?" Was the only thing that came out of the Overlord's mouth

"Please!" Maple exaggerated the bow a little more. "I don't want to fight Ainz Ooal Gown in this world, at least not now. I know this may be asking too much but could we make a truce?"

Ainz was somewhat confused by this until his mind fell on the declaration of war that Maple had sent him. Ainz nodded slightly.

"Oh, don't worry about that." Wait, Maple offered him a truce? To him, her arch-enemy? This didn't seem like a trap, yet... "What kind of truce do you have in mind?"

Maple sat up slightly. "Ehhhh..." She hadn't thought about it. "The one where we don't attack each other maybe?"

Ainz then questioned. "So you want a non-interference truce ? "

Maple quickly shook her head as she made an X with her hands.

"Wouldn't that mean we wouldn't talk to each other? Nope! Rather, can't we put our antagonism aside? I mean, this is a different world, right? Although it doesn't seem very dangerous I would feel much safer with someone as trustworthy as you; Besides, if we're both here, maybe someone else will come into this world" Maple suddenly got excited about seeing Sally again. "To all this, is there anyone else with you?"

Ainz was suddenly immersed in an aura of death as he thought. "No, no other members of Ainz Ooal Gown came along with me, I'm the only one" Ainz sighed again. "So you're thinking of an Alliance?"

As Ainz was asking, a message came to his head. 'Ainz-sama, we have the town surrounded and we are ready for the assault, shall we begin?' Albedo's voice reminded him that he had not come to the village without first taking precautions in case this was an ambush. However that seemed unnecessary now. 'Albedo, stop the operation, I'm negotiating an Alliance with Maple although stay in your positions for now in case it goes wrong' Ainz actually doubted that Maple would attack him now if she hadn't before.

Maple for her part was going over the word Allies in a whisper.

"Allies!" she yelled before jumping up and hugging Ainz, trying to shake Maple off Ainz yelled in the [message] 'How the hell do you have that much grip strength with STR 0?!'

Albedo seemed alarmed by Ainz's mental complaint, 'Ainz, are you alright?! I'm coming to your rescue!'

For her part, Maple happily clung to Ainz. 'You're great Momonga!' I hadn't thought about that yet.

Ainz finally shook off Maple. "We have to talk about this more calmly and in detail, also stop hugging me, this could be considered sexual harassment in my place of work! And don't think I'm going to forget that the knight of absolute obliteration was the biggest Yggdrasil heteromorph hunter."

Maple was hanging from Ainz's skeletal body. "I didn't knew they were player characters! I thought that all monsters were generated by the game, besides your guild was a PK specialist for human guilds!"

Ainz slightly averted his gaze. "And what about the massacre you did to get all these world items and gain the upgrade for your shield? Wasn't [devour] a broken enough skill for you?!

Maple laughed. "Don't talk to me about broken abilities with all your super level spells and world items!"

Ainz took a step forward. "And who was the person who fed all of her guild's world items to a skill?!"

Maple looked away before resuming the attack. "Well... Well... You'll never know the taste of a world item!"

Ainz sneered. "And you do? As far as I know you only fed your shield with items and you didn't eat any yourself. Or did you eat the last world item you had?"

Ainz suddenly felt a chill run down his spine while Maple's gaze focused at the red orb of Ainz of his "No, I didn't eat that one; I had my eyes on another world item."

Ainz closed his robe to hide his red orb, but Maple's mouth wouldn't stop salivating. Covering as much as he could Ainz shouted "I already hid the red orb so stop looking at me as food!"

Maple wiped away the spit and pouted. "I may have eaten one or two, or perhaps more than a thousand skeletons. But you are my rival and I could never eat you!"

Ainz suddenly drew back in surprise. "You won't deny that you see me as food?!"

Maple was silent for a second before looking away. "I swore I was going to go on diet" she muttered under her breath like a puppy.

Ainz looked at Maple and although he wouldn't admit it, suddenly he didn't feel so alone in this world anymore, talking about things in the game and complaining about the other's broken abilities, this was truly nostalgic, although being seen as food still made him uneasy, but just a little uneasy.

Ainz's happiness suddenly was dampened by the suppression of emotions, so he asked the question.

"Do you want to come to Nazarick with me to end up setting the Alliance?' I'm sure you'll love meeting the NPCs in person, they are just like their creators."

Maple looked at Ainz curiously. "The NPCs?

"Yes, all the NPCs came to life." Ainz declared confidently.

Maple drew back in admiration. "Whoa! How cool! Do you think they remember me?' Ainz opened his mouth and then closed it, putting a hand to his jaw as he thought. If they remember her may be...

At that moment, before Ainz could reply Albedo entered the room through the broken door with her black armor and ax in hand.

"Ainz-sama!"

Seeing Maple inside, she suddenly remembered the monster that led the invasion of Nazarick during her time in Yggdrasil and was blinded by fury.

She was the enemy of the Supreme Beings, she and her human army killed Shalltear, Cocytus and a bunch more of the Supreme Beings creations during their assault on Nazarick. That enemy was dangerous and should be eliminated now.

"Obnoxious human, die in the name of Ainz Ooal Gown!"

Okay! I cut a part of this chapter to get it out sooner (in the end I said that this would be short chapters!) And I don't have much to comment other than maybe Maple's personality in the chap was a little more... rebellious than I think she would really be with a friend, but her rivalry-friendship relationship certainly justifies it although I'll explore this later, for now I think it's time to move a little further into the story.

Also, as a personal taste I decided to make an illustration for the story, (Who would say that there are no illustrations of Maple together with Ainz?)
