This a poem about how gruelling and tragic a transformation that the Aeons went through as they faded away and became Dark Aeons... FFX category or FFX2? I wasn't sure.

Dark Aeons

The Hymn fades away

Never to return

And as we turn to grey,

Our souls begin to burn

We fight the silence

With all our might

But in our defiance,

We are cast from the light

So dim the world is, now

So faint is the Hymn

So cold is our hearts, now

But we can't give in

Unable to make a sound

We weep in pain

And to the mortal's ground

Our tears become rain

We regard the world below

And see the changes take place

Still, to the darkness we say "no"

Alas, we are to die in grace

So dark the world is, now

Faint is the Hymn

So cold is our hearts, now

But we can't give in

We start to change

Our spirits locked inside

Darkness expands it's range

We can do nothing but hide

One by one

We succumb to the darkness

Our control is undone

As faith in us turns to nothingness

We begin give in

We watch the world through different eyes

Faith from mortals, gone

We have given into to a stone grey demise

Of our former glory, there is none

Once the temples symbolized faith

Now people have forgotten what they stood for

Like us, the beliefs once abundant are now wraiths

Twisting in darkness eternally never to rise once more…

Dark the world is, now
