The Benifit of Color. by Liv

Ryan sat on the hood of his car, starring out into the ocean, the sun bouncing off the water as it set.

Ryan's phone rang, knocking him back into reality, checking the i.d. not surprised to see that it was Maxine.

Happy. But not surprised.

"Hello Valera," said Ryan, pulling his knees up to his chest like an inpatient child.

"Wolfe, do you see this sunset?"

"Always," replied Ryan turning his head to see Maxine Valera leaning against her car door.

"You look like you're going into shock," shouted Maxine, closing her phone and heading over to him.

She leaned against his car hood, starring at him. "What's up Ryan?"

Ryan shrugged, looking down at her, watching the sun make her hair sparkle. "Who'd you find me?"

"Well duh, I followed you," Ryan chuckled and motioned for her to sit next to him. She obliged and climbed onto his car, leaning against him and watching a yacht meaner across the surf.

"Do you do this all the time?" asked Maxine after about half an hour of listening to the waves and faint music from what the two silently deemed as a yacht party.

Ryan shrugged and looked down at Maxine. "Only when I can't hear myself think"

Maxine grinned. "So all the time then?" she had a pretty smile.

"I think I could get used to this," Ryan laughed.

"The ocean or being with me" Maxine paused.

"Both."

Ryan looked down at her, didn't say anything, just wrapped an arm around her and looked back out at the orange and black colored ocean.

End.
