Kagome and Inuyasha walked down the dirt path, silent. Tears streamed down Kagome's face as she walked slightly ahead of him. HEr mind wandered to the argument between them. He had gotten mad at her for disobeying him when he told her to stay out of the fight with Seshomarou. Yelling that he had needed help. Inuyasha had retorted that he needed no help from an insolent human. His words hit her deep. Her love for him outweighed any insult he could ever throw towards her, but it still hurt her pretty badly.
She looked back at Inuyasha, who was staring at the ground as they walked. More like glaring, actually... She turned back to the road, walking slower and slower. Inuyasha walked up beside her, and took her hand in his. "Kagome, I'm sorry." he whispered softly. Her head snapped up and she glared at him suspiciously. This was unnatural for him. The arrogant hanyou had never apologized for anything, especially not sincerely. He looked at her, his deep eyes full of sadness. "I can't stand having you mad at me." he said, "Please, forgive me." Involuntarily, Kagome smiled and nodded her head. "Ok." was all she said.
Inuyasha smiled back and swooped her up in his arms. "I love you, Kagome." he whispered, then kissed her softly. Kagome was so in shock, she felt like fainting, but she kept her conciousness, feeling a warmth in her heart spread throughout her body. When Inuyasha ended the kiss he looked at her again. "I love you, too..." Kagome managed to say.
