Chapter 7: All Strung Up

The day started out like any other. After breakfast, Cody set to work on his first day. The toy shop was bustling with activity. It was crowded with children and parents, laughing and excitedly looking for toys.
The rides were in full swing, with children riding on the carousel, bumper cars, a bouncy castle, a small choo-choo train and a small Ferris wheel. Cody noticed Gwen, the Gothic Lolita wind-up doll, dancing a stiff, jerky dance while surrounded by smiling and laughing children.
"The kids love her." Phil pointed out, grinning as he approached Cody as he watched her dancing for the amazed children while making silly faces, causing them to laugh. "Yeah, she is." He murmured.
"So, you ready to start your first day?" Phil asked. "Sure." Cody replied. "What should I do?" "Well, you'll be in charge of the arts and crafts classes for the children." Phil explained. "Your lessons will be from 8am to 1pm."
"Sure, I can handle that." Cody replied. "My grandad taught me everything about woodworking." Phil placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sure he would be mighty proud to see how much you've grown up."
Cody blushed. "Yeah, though, I think he would have passed out if he had ever found I've got a harem of living dolls." He added. Phil chuckled. "Well, time to start your first day." He replied with a smile.
(5 hours later...)
"Woah...you look like a rutt." Phil pointed out to a tired Cody who was covered in clay and paint. "It started out so well..." Cody grumbled. "The kids were doing well." "Until, one of the boys started a clay fight."
"Well...things will always be better in tomorrow." Phil assured him. "What you need is a fresh change of clothes and a shower to fix you up." "Sure thing." Cody replied, rubbing his dirty face before trudging upstairs.
Phil watched him go with a smile. "I hope he likes the surprise I prepared for him." He thought as he chuckled to himself.
(5 mins later...)
Cody gave a sigh of relief as he emerged from the bathroom, refreshed after a nice long bath and a towel around his waist. "That's better." He mumbled as he approached his bed to change his clothes. It was then he noticed a note on his desk.
"What's this?" He muttered as he picked up the note and read it. It said:
Dear Cody,
Since you had such an exhausting day, I figured you would need something to brighten up. She's waiting for you in the playroom, so you better not keep her waiting.
Love, your uncle Phil.
Cody sighed. It was probably Gwen waiting for him to play. "Hold on, Gwen." He chuckled as he put down the note and began to change. Once he had a fresh change, he headed into the playroom.
He found the large stage nearby with his work bench on the corner and noticed the spotlights were shining on the stage. Smiling, he stood up on the stage and faced the curtains. "Gwen, I know you are back there." He called.
The curtains parted and to Cody's surprise, he found Izzy behind, wearing her jester costume and all strung up in her marionette strings. "Hey, Master Cody~!" She cooed, giving him a wink. "Surprise~!"
"Izzy?" Cody asked in surprise. "I thought you were Gwen." "Oh, Master~" Izzy pouted. "Are you so in love with Gwen that you forgot about your other doll~?" With that, music began to play.
"Maybe this will convince you~" She replied before she began to dance, her strings tugging and moving. Ironically, her movements were just like a real marionette, with her legs doing most of the moving while her arms dangled from her sides. The numerous bells on her costume jingled as she danced.
Then, her arms rose upwards and dangled in that position while her legs were made to skip about. Suddenly, Izzy's left leg rose upwards, and she started jumping. Her right leg repeated the action. Cody's face blushed brightly, and his eyes grew wider, trying to look away but was too entranced by Izzy's dance. It was like watching a real puppet dance.
Suddenly, the wires attached to her arms stopped moving so they dangled at her sides again while her legs continued to kick up one after another in rhythm of the music. Her right leg rose while her left leg stood on tiptoe as the crossbar made her spin around, which afterwards made her anti-clockwise on the opposite legs. Her arms flopped around during this sequence.

He approached the jester marionette and nudged her shoulder gently. There was no response. He nudged one of her arms, only for it to swing side to side like it was boneless. "Master~" Izzy cooed softly.
Cody cupped his hands on her face and lifted it up so she was looking at him. "Master, kiss me~" Izzy whispered, fluttering her eyes at him. Cody gulped and blushed. "Should I really?" He asked. "Please, Master~" Izzy replied, looking at him with desire. "Kiss me."
