Quests and Questions
The sun crept over the hills as the Great Cats slept. Tigers, lions, panthers, cheetahs, cougars, and other Great felines slept, relishing the comforts of sleep.
Over all of the Great cats, only two of each had been chosen to live on and journey to New Territory and live there. There had been a great famine over at Old Territory. They were forced to leave. All the other Great Cats had died. Miraculously, two of each species had survived. It was a wonder, really.

Goldenmane opened his eyes. He saw the sun creeping over the unfamiliar land that they were traveling through.
Long grass stalks waved back and forth by the wind that was blowing in different directions every few heartbeats.
He sat up immediately. Something was not right. He looked up. The sun was pushing away stars...this was a sign! They were not meant to be here! StarClan could not find them!
Then a flash of cold white light engulfed him in an instant. Letting out a howl of surprise and shock, a voice fearful and pitiful sounded and vibrated in his rounded lion ears. "The Great Cats need to leave...to let the new cats in..."
As the voice faded, Goldenmane remembered who's voice that belonged too.
"Smallgrowl!" Goldenmane gasped, "Smallgrowl, no! Come back!" Smallgrowl only sighed, and as the sigh faded, Goldenmane's vision slowly came back.
Panting, he woke up. Smallgrowl was his brother that had died in the famine. He missed him dearly.
Goldenmane closed his eyes as he remembered his younger brother. He had been the runt of the litter. Other lions had made fun of him cruelly, for he had been about half the size of a full grown lion when he was fully grown.
Goldenmane had defended his brother by saying that his size was due to the lack of food.
But then Smallgrowl had died. That was the most miserable day of Goldenmane's life. No one had ever mentioned his brother again.
Tears trickled slowly down Goldenmane's face at the memory.
He quickly wiped them off, then stood up. He was leader of the Clan now. He would soon receive his name StarClan always gave to leaders. "Goldenmane," Smallgrowl's voice echoed in his head, "You are Goldenstar now. StarClan hails you now for we cannot follow you any further. We must help the New Cats...Good-bye, my dear brother..."
Goldenstar roared his farewell to StarClan and his brother. He knew The Parting would happen soon. Now he must lead the Great Clans to their new home.
The sun had fully risen now, and the Great Clans were rising from their own dreams. Goldenstar ran up onto a rock slanting up from the ground. He looked over all of the Great Cats and vowed that he would lead them to their new home, even at the cost of his life.
