Merely Hopeful Speculation

-----------------------------------------

DISCLAIMER- I don't own PotC...or anything really. Or this song, which is "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" by Panic! at the Disco.

NOTE- This is post DMC! Don't read if you haven't seen the movie.

Oh, well imagine; as I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor,

and I can't help but to hear, no I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words:

"What a beautiful wedding, what a beautiful wedding!" says a bridesmaid to a waiter.

"Yes, but what a shame, what a shame, the poor groom's bride is a whore."

---

I know what I saw. She kissed him… My love, my Elizabeth, kissed another man. Not just any other man, but Jack Sparrow. The same man who attempted to trade my soul to save himself. The same man who tried to use me as leverage… And I saw her. I saw the love of my life betray me… How could she?

---

I'd chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door!"

No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality

Does she still want to marry me? That kiss was filled with a passion that I've never seen before. Once we get Jack back, will she want him rather than me? Can I even marry her anymore…knowing that her lips have touched his? Knowing that she may be thinking of him every time she kisses me?

---

Well in fact well i'll look at it this way,

I mean technically our marriage is saved!

Well this calls for a toast, so pour the champagne!

I can't be near her, but that's all I want. I guess it's better for me to have found out now, rather than later that Elizabeth fancied Jack. They're an unlikely pair, which is probably the only reason she ever wanted me. She wanted me because she thought I was a pirate, and then she found out that I was…but now there's Jack. A true pirate…

Again.

He's more of a pirate than I'll ever be. I don't even want to be one. He lies, cheats, steals, and betrays…He would never settle down. But does she really want to? We were to be wed…but is that what she really wanted? She craves adventure, she always has… She craves the life of a pirate…

Or maybe she didn't kiss him because she wanted to, or to say goodbye…Maybe it wasn't a kiss of passion, maybe it was to make sure he'd stay behind. So that she, and us, would have a chance. Maybe she did it for me…because all I have now is hope. Hope that Elizabeth still loves me, and wants to be with me… Only hope…
