The girl dreamed.

Isle to the Far East. A legendary weapon. A tournament. A figure in violet armor using the weapon to cut through reality. From the void, a terrible skeletal monster crawls out, and roars. That same warrior from before faced the monster. A fish swimming up a great waterfall of monsters, and becoming a dragon, preventing a flood of monsters from entering the lands of Lore.

The hero faced the once kind hero of the yokai, now believing his kind to be superior to the humanity he so despised. Two heroes clashed atop a mountain, their swords locked together in struggle.

The horde of Grimm covering the skies of Vale howled together in its rage, scattering the people below in fear for their lives. The Wyvern, the Black Dragon, hovered in place, watching its brethren swoop down and enter the streets below, attacking civilians, soldiers, and terrorists alike.

It smelled something however, and turned its gaze on a Bullhead flying to the area where the negativity is most concentrated. It stared, but did not attack directly.

Behind the murderous gleam of the Wyverns eyes, are the cold, calculating, and intelligent gaze of a Witch sitting at her throne, watching the chaos proceed before her.

They were given the command to surround the VPD, but following that order had never been so difficult, especially with the flying Grimm now landing and trying to swoop and kill civilians from out of the sky.

Lieutenant Banks shot one with his rifle. The griffon turned its attention from a scared mother and child pair and looking at him. "Shoot it now! Someone escort the civilians away from the area!" He barked over the gunfire and the screams. The soldiers followed and one part of the barricade surrounding the VPD broke off to cover the fleeing people from the Grimm.

Another Grimm landed, a manticore this time. Using its huge weight, it slashed through the robot soldiers and officers around the perimeter and scattered them. It roared its challenge to the defenders of the city, who met it with the same fury it had.

As if things couldn't get worse for them though…

A shot hit his shoulder, and the blast knocked him back to his car. He looked to where the shot came from.

"Kill them all!" A voice shouted. "Kill the filthy humans! Ignore the Grimm! Burn VPD to the ground!"

The White Fang. The masked terrorists attacked in droves, engaging the soldiers and the police, despite also being attacked by the Grimm!

The Valean and Atlas forces now had their attentions divided. Protect the civilians, or protect the VPD. It was an easier choice in Lieutenant Banks' mind.

"Prioritize defending the civvies!" He shouted. One White Fang tried to run him through with a sword. He dodged to the side and kicked the faunus in the ribs, and before he could get up, placed a rifle bolt in his chest.

"And the building sir?!"

"Fuck the VPD building! You have your orders soldier!"

Lieutenant Banks kept shooting at the Grimm and White Fang both now tearing them apart. Him and his men stood their ground, hoping for a miracle that would come their way.

Cinder looked on in the shadows, intending to capitalize on the chaos to escape. Grimm? But how? She thought. The timing was all wrong! She was too far away from Beacon and Ozpin to get a chance to get the maiden's power!

She looked on and saw the White Fang arrive, and promptly started attacking the soldiers and officers of both kingdoms. Cinder saw the leader of the group. One black haired woman in pigtails with a wand tipped with a star. Beatrice Astraluna. She scoffed. The woman was unpredictable and too much of a loose cannon to use, unlike Adam Taurus. Even Cinder thought the woman was too insane to deal with.

And she was right. Fielded, Beatrice Astraluna immediately began using her semblance on all that stood her path that wasn't faunus. She touched a VPD officer's head, and the man began wasting away, screaming as Beatrice literally drained all moisture from his body, leaving him a dusty, lifeless husk. The soldiers around her, horrified, began shooting at her in retaliation. Beatrice smiled, and all the rifle bolts and dust bullets sent her way began rusting away, and she continued her march towards the imposing building before her.

Cinder turned away from the carnage outside and began stalking to the exit of the building. Someone was standing there however.

"You really are persistent Schnee." Cinder told Winter. Winter's hands tightened around her rapier. "Do you even have time to deal with me? Your men are getting slaughtered out there!" She taunted.

Winter grit her teeth but said nothing. She was conflicted. She knew what Cinder was pointing out. "Either deal with me, and not save your men. Or don't," Cinder smiled smugly at the specialist. "And deal with the White Fang and Grimm out there, who are now attacking White Fang, soldiers and civilians alike."

"Who says I can't just deal with you her now?" Winter said, pointing her rapier at Cinder. Cinder laughed. "Oh, I know you won't be able too." Her eyes glowed, the power of the maiden coursing through her. "I can just not let you kill me and stall for enough time for the Grimm and the White Fang to overcome your men out there, and I still escape. And every second I stall you here," Cinder paused, letting the screams of terror and the howls of the Grimm linger in the air for a bit. "Is one less insect I have to deal with outside."

Cinder walked on, passing by Winter, frozen by her own thoughts. Winter did not move an inch to stop her, and making up her mind, dashed to the exit first, rage blazing within her as she left the criminal back at the building.

"I do so love when they just roll over for me." Cinder said, sauntering to the exit after Winter.

Johnny and Qrow landed in what seemed to be a warzone.

"Qrow!" Johnny shouted. "You find our culprit! Let me handle crowd control!" Qrow nodded and dashed through the area, going straight to the building.

The adventurer took out his katana. With one powerful strike, he caught a manticore out of the air, and split it in half with Nukiuchi. He raised his other hand. With the power of the Darkblood within him, he called to the storm, and lightning struck three more flying Grimm around him at once.

The Grimm were not the only enemies around however. Several White Fang charged him, and he quickly shot them down with Fire Bolts, tearing through their aura. He knocked them all out with quick whacks of his katana.

Thinning the hordes of enemies, Johnny made his way outside the perimeter of the barricade the soldiers had set up. Civilians were still mixed in the chaos, their fear being chased after by the Grimm overhead. Johnny took pot shots at the monsters with the fire bolts, chasing some away, and took out those that got to close with Combustion Blaze.

He took a look around. The area seemed to be with small buildings with smaller windows and stone walls. Less likely for the Grimm to break in. It wasn't a guarantee, but it was better than nothing. "Get inside!" Johnny shouted at the top of his lungs. He waved over the still panicking group of people, shooting at the Grimm and White Fang that got too close with his spells. "Inside the houses! Now! Get out of the streets!"

The people followed, quickly cowed by the sight of an authority figure and followed. Johnny guided the crowd of people moving inside the buildings in the street. Seeing threats in the air, the adventurer drew into the powers of the elemental dragons. He spread Astialo's Wings from his back, and soared through the air.

Any Grimm who dared to swoop into the crowd was quickly smashed apart with the speed of a dragon's charge, Johnny catching the Grimm from the air with slices from his katana.

"Tommy!" A voice shouted. Johnny turned to the voice. A boy was standing frozen like a deer caught in headlights in front of a huge Nevermore. It screeched, and brought its claws up and swung it down, attempting to crush the boy to death. It would fail, as Johnny swooped in first and grabbed the boy. The slam sent a shockwave of stone, and Johnny lost control of the Wings and crashed down. The adventurer held the boy close to his body, shielding him.

"Tommy no!" The man, presumably the boy's father screamed. Johnny stood up, and placed the cowering boy behind his back, his katana at the ready as he faced the Nevermore who shrieked at him in rage. Johnny snarled in answer. His other hand glowed, channeling the power of the sun, and he launched it at the Nevermore, Burning it with the Light. The beam tore through the darkness that made up the Grimm's body, instantly killing it.

"C'mon kid." He told the boy who was staring at him with awe-filled eyes. "Let's get you back to your dad." He crouched down. "Hop on up." He told the kid, and let the kid ride his shoulders.

Johnny dashed through the street, depositing the kid back to his dad, who hugged the boy, crying tears of relief.

"Are you a superhero, mister?" The kid asked with wide eyes. Johnny chuckled.

"No. I'm not that super." He told the kid. He turned to the father. "Get into the buildings, now." The father nodded and thanked him, and carried his child to the safety of the stone walled buildings in the street.

Around him, the Grimm growled, attracted by something in him. Johnny's eyes narrowed.

"Ice queen!" Qrow yelled. He used his broadsword to bash in some White Fang in the face, and kicked another in the nads. With a spin, he launched the poor terrorist with a roundhouse kick to the face. He dashed up to the Atlas specialist exiting the VPD building. "Someone with black hair, gold eyes. Seen her?" He asked Winter quickly.

"Gone. Last seen in the building." Winter said through gritted teeth. Qrow swore. "You're free to search for her if you wish. I have people to command." She said walking into the chaos of the battlefield.

"Damnit!" Qrow yelled. He charged back into the fighting. "I'll at least clean this mess up." He said to no one in particular. He turned his broadsword into its scythe form, slicing through the crowd of charging White Fang members.

Lieutenant Banks thought the day would turn for the better, but oh no. There just had to be a fucking psychopath on the White Fang. At least the Grimm had let up a bit; most of them are charging to the huntsman in the black cap. He shouted at his men to focus fire on the stream of flying Grimm charging at the man and the civvies he was covering for, thinning the horde a little bit.

Banks kept watch on the perimeter with the scope of his rifle, taking shots here and there with burst fire, felling any terrorists that came near the area.

The White Fang were merciless. They had killed on sight. One got lucky and stumbled on a wounded man being carried by his comrade. The White Fang had gleefully smashed both, crushing their heads with a mallet, until Banks had took the terrorist out with a shot to the head. He was too late on some counts, but he closed his heart to it. There were plenty of time for guilt later.

The fighting was rapidly devolving into a brawl. The sheer numbers of the White Fang turned the shootout into a melee, even with Banks' excellent marksmanship. And even then, he was also quickly running out of ammunition.

"Die! For the White Fang!" A punk screamed to his left, charging at him with a sword. Banks' swung his rifle like a baseball bat, smashing the terrorist in the face before, beating the back of his head in with the butt of the rifle.

"Fuck." Banks' swore. Replacing the clip of his rifle, he quickly shot out two rounds, killing two more before they even had the chance to get close. The others weren't discouraged though. His men started to shoot at the charging group, but got dragged into the melee anyway. They had started to use the guns as clubs against the blade wielding White Fang.

And worst of all…

"Well, well. Seems we have an officer here!" Someone from behind him said, Banks' turned, and was smashed in the face with a fist, sending the lieutenant sprawling on the concrete pavement. He looked up, and stared at a woman wearing the White Fang uniform, but without the mask. She had her hair on pigtails, and had deep blue eyes, that flashed with maniacal intent. Her smile was bloodthirsty, smirking at him smugly from her position above him. In her hands was a small wand or baton that was tipped with a star on the end.

Beatrice Astraluna smashed her wand across Banks' face. The lieutenant grit his teeth and pushed himself off the floor, using his rifle as a cane.

Other officers came to help him, shooting at Beatrice with their pistols. Their guns rusted away to dust in their hands, and their bullets turned to metal sand as soon as they even just neared Beatrice's breathing space.

Seeing what happened, the brave men and women of the joint forces of Vale and Atlas charged her. Banks' screamed at them to stop, scrambling to his feet. The terrorist jumped back, grabbed one by their heads, and began draining him. The officers looked on in horror as one of their own crumbled away, leaving not even a corpse behind, just dust.

"C'mon! C'mon! Who's next?!" Beatrice shouted gleefully. Banks' gritted his teeth in rage and shot at Beatrice, even knowing what would happen. "We got a brave one here!" She charged.

And promptly ran face first into a massive white paw swiping her way.

"Wha-?!" Beatrice shouted in surprise. A stinger stabbed where she landed, and Beatrice had to spin her body quickly away. With her momentum, she used it to flip back up and faced what just had attacked her.

A Schnee. Beatrice snarled. Winter Schnee rode atop the summoned Manticore, and roared its challenge at the crazed woman. "Seeing as you have been slaughtering MY men left and right," Winter spat in cold rage. "I'm not going to even bother arresting you and take you in. You die where you stand, right now." The Manticore spewed blue fire at Beatrice, who jumped back to avoid being incinerated alive.

"Can't actually stand up to someone who matches your own, can you?" Winter said. Beatrice seethed. The officers around them including Banks' wisely left it to the specialist to deal with the crazy terrorist.

As soon as the bullhead dropped them off, Team RWBY rushed to the VPD and saw what was happening. Tons of Grimm flying overhead, centering on someone, and the White Fang fighting with the police offers and soldiers. The negativity around them was intense, and the Grimm felt it. They almost went into a frenzy, if it weren't for the person drawing them all in, keeping them all off the civilians, the few that were still in the streets.

"Team! Knock out any White Fang that gets in your way. Blake, civilian duty. Yang, support Blake, knock out anything that gets in her way. Weiss, we go straight into that." The young team leader pointed at the Grimm swarming nearby. "Go team go!" Ruby shouted her commands and the girls scattered.

Blake zipped from person to person, assisting them to seek shelter, using her clones to cover her escape, while Yang bashed the heads in of whatever dared got to close to her partner and the civilians. Weiss conjured glyphs, and she and her partner ran up to the swarms of Grimm flying overhead.

With a flip, Ruby used her sniper rifle's recoil to launch herself higher in the air, then shifted her weapon to its scythe form. She spun around in the air, slicing the Grimm to shreds like a rose colored blender, catching herself on the platforms Weiss made with her semblance. Weiss herself skated on the platforms, slicing apart the Grimm that charged at her out of the air. She jumped up, and caught herself in the shaft of Ruby's scythe, and launched herself higher in the air, beyond the swarm. Switching Myrtenaster's chamber to wind, she launched a huge gust that forced the flying Grimm to be grounded a moment. Ruby, caught in the gale, used the platforms to steady herself, before launching herself back to the grounded Grimm, leading to…

"You guys?!" Johnny said. Ruby flashed him a smile and a peace sign. Johnny shook his head. "Cover your ears." He told the girl, who followed. He raised his hand, and a mighty thunderclap boomed through the area, destroying all the Grimm grounded by Weiss attack.

"AAAAAGH!" Blake suddenly shouted, clutching at her ears. Yang was blasted by the attack nearby. Weiss, being so high up and surrounded by the winds from her dust, was not affected much. The nearby White Fang and unfortunate Faunus soldiers within a few meters radius of him screamed as the sound assaulted their ears.

"Blake!" Yang scrambled back to her feet. Ruby zipped back to their faunus friend, Johnny and Weiss following close by. The adventurer saw Blake tearing up and her ears bleeding. "Oh, sorry?" Johnny said sheepishly as Ruby, Weiss, and Yang glared at him. "I'll heal her up, no problem." He said, already muttering the Hymn of Light, restoring Ruby's, Yang's, Weiss' and Blake's health and endurance back to peak condition. Blake's pain went away, and she pushed herself up from Yang's arms, shaking her head, dizzy from the massive sonic blast.

"Alright, noted. No massive Thunderclaps with Faunus nearby." Johnny said, with Blake glaring at him. "Stop being angry at me and start killing Grimm, kids! Go, go, g-!"

A roar. Everyone in the area stopped fighting. The winds picked up, swept by the beating of black and red bat-like wings. The wyvern stood atop a building nearby overlooking the small plaza everyone was fighting on, and roared its rage. Black tar spilled through its maw, dripping down the street. It pooled slowly, and where it pooled, smaller terrestrial Grimm took form.

Everyone looked on in horror as from the pool emerged tens of dozens of new limbs writhing out. Jet-black, clawed, clad in white armor, and a red gaze.

A new Beowolf stepped out, and howled. A celebration of its birth.

"Okay. So it does that." Johnny said, still staring.

The adventurer shook himself out of the stupor first. "You four!" He shouted at Team RWBY, shaking them out of staring. "Keep the other Grimm of me. Or subdue the White Fang guys. Up to you. Divide your work." The adventurer shouted vague commands, which he internally hoped sounded cool. Thankfully, their team leader nodded affirmatively. "You heard him! Move out!"

Yang and Blake dove back in to the White Fang and soldier melee. Ruby and Weiss stood together with Johnny against the wyvern, who growled at the four, watching them. Despite the situation, Johnny can't help but smile.

"You guys ever experience Dragonslaying?" He asked the two teens beside him. Both Ruby and Weiss looked at him from the side. His smile turned into a full blown chuckle. "It's pretty great. Lemme show you some of Galanoth's tricks."

Qrow left a trail of disarticulated and dismembered corpses behind him, out for blood. He could just feel himself getting closer to Amber's attacker. He burned inside, feeling the guilt of failing the girl already saddled with a destiny she couldn't control, dragged into a war she didn't want to be a part of. The least he could do, was avenge her to her attackers. Tracking the steps from the exit of the VPD, it muddles into the crowd, and Qrow had been haunting the perimeters of the fighting, trying to find something, and destroying every enemy that dared to cross him, Grimm or otherwise.

A squad of three ambushed him, and with a shot from his sawed-off shotgun and a slash of the broadsword, there were three less of the terrorists stalking the streets. He kept his eyes open for anything out of place. A stray hair out of place, a footstep in the wrong direction, and in this case, ashes blown in the wind. He wasn't the scout and spy of the circle for nothing.

Sure, fires burning wasn't uncommon in the fight right now, he thought as he followed the trail and his nose. But melted guns and armor? It just screams one thing to him.

"You." He told the figure standing at the alleyway, preparing to climb the fire exit ladder to escape to the rooftops. "Cinder Fall." He called out, and the figure froze a little, before turning to him with a smirk. The black haired woman stepped forward to face him.

"Well, well. Qrow Branwen." Cinder smiled at him. "How's your little ward doing? Doing healthy, I hope?" She taunted.

Qrow had no such patience for false pleasantries. With a flash, Qrow smashed his broadsword from above, and Cinder had to block with her two black swords.

"Not even going to read me my rights?" Cinder continued to taunt, but Qrow just snarled.

"I'm going to gut you like a pig, Fall." He said through gritted teeth. "And you'll pay for what you did!"
