Note: Remember, fanfic writing is something I do in my spare time, and my buddies coughNTAGcough should know that sometimes I don't always manage that time all that well. Even in the event that I do, fanfics are low on my lists. But I do hope that you'll enjoy and look forward to my fanfics!
Chapter I
Sasuke had awoken to the 9th day of October. The 9th, of course, was the day before the 10th.
'Naruto's birthday...' Sasuke thought, with a sigh.
(The previous day...)
Sakura was happily walking down one of Konoha's many hardened, dirt streets. She was, much to her excitment, on her way to the outskirts of Konoha to meet with Sasuke. She'd been so happy, and yet nervous, when he'd said they needed to meet.
What could Sasuke-kun possibly want? Sakura wondered to herself.
Cha! He's finally coming around, eh? Ino would be so jealous! her Inner Sakura thought.
---
"Sakura?" Sasuke said to his pink-haired, kunoichi teammate. Sakura and him were strolling through a thin, little forest of trees on the edge of a much thicker forest.
"Hm?" Sakura was blushing excessively, and Sasuke could only imagine why.
He sighed before continuing. As much as he hated it, Sakura was the only one he could stand asking. He also figured she might understand more than anyone...
"I-I... I don't know how to say this..." Sakura saw him begin to blush slightly on his cheeks, and his eyes darted to everything but her.
"Oh, that's okay, Sasuke!" she told him warmly. "I definitely understand. You can tell me anything."
"A-are you sure?" The Uchiha was trying to keep his cool, his... manlyness? ... Somehow, what he was thinking wasn't very 'manly' of him.
"Absoloutely! You should know that!"
"Well," he paused, clearing his throat. "How-how would you address to someone that you... had feelings for them? I mean, you know," he added quickly," to someone who couldn't take a hint if it kicked their ass!" He had a hint of annoyance glowing from his face as he spoke his last sentence.
What? Sakura thought. That definately couldn't be her. Or Ino, much less! Now she was curious. Who could this girl he had 'feelings' for be? Was she from Konoha? A different country? Was she cute? Or nice to her Sasuke? The Hokage had recently turned up many events with Konoha's allying Kage's, involving genin from other countries to help form new alliances and such. Sakura could only put two and two together, but the questions kept piling up, her mind now racing.
She quickly snapped out of this, not wanting to embarrass herself with an awkward silence. "Well... Like Naruto, for example."
Sasuke felt his stomach fall to his feet. Had he been to obvious? Of course not... could he?
"He's just too dense to realize that Hinata likes him. She's not what I'd call subtle about it, whether intentionally or not, but the best way to get his attention would be to just say it straight forward!" Sakura emphasized this with a fist pounding into her other palm.
"And... and how would you do that?" Sasuke had tried 'hints.' Big hints. Subtle enough for no one, save for a few people like Neji or Shikamaru, to know, yet obvious enough for the person it was directed at to notice. But 'dense' was just the word...
(Back to the present...)
The Uchiha rolled lazily out of his bed and made his way to the shower. This is going to be Hell, he thought.
So, would Sasuke be buying anything for Konoha's resident unpredictably obnoxious blonde? Of course... if he could find out what to buy...!
Chapter II coming soon!
