Cho & Marietta discussion Immediately after Jewelry shop heist.

Mr. Chang was repairing the front door to his shop when Marietta Edgecombe walked up.

"Hello Mr. Chang. I just heard what happened and rushed over. How is Cho and your wife?"

"Both will be fine; my wife is at St. Mungo's being treated for cuts and a bump on the head. Choo is just shaken. She is in the back room if you want to go in and see her."

Marietta walked into the back room. Cho was just sitting drinking tea and staring out the window.

"Are you OK Cho;" asked Marietta as she hugged her?

"I, I don't think I'll ever be alright after what happened. It was brutal. They battered the door in with a big hammer. Shattered the door, glass flew everywhere, then they rushed in and hit my mom. Just smashed her in the head to the floor. Then this big guy grabbed me by the throat and threatened me. They took everything we had in the safe, finished Jewelry, all the pearls dad just brought home and the money we had in there from the last week. I was so afraid."

Cho burst into tears. "They are savage. They were growling! Why would they do such a thing. My parents never hurt anyone!

"I'm so sorry Cho. Your dad said your mom would be OK. You're Ok. It could have been much worse."

"I guess so."

"I can understand why Were's are attacking and robbing people."

"What? What are you saying, Marietta?

"Just that I can understand why. Dolores Umbridge has been on a crusade for years to put restrictions on Were's. She pushes law after law that makes their life harder and harder."

"And that justifies them killing, robbing and attacking innocents and turning them into more Were's!"

"No, I'm not saying that, but we have made it so hard for them. They can't go to school, get jobs, they can't inherit, they can't have a vault at Gringotts, they cannot get married. We hunt them to kill them. The ministry classifies them as Dark Creatures! No one trusts them now."

"Well, I can see why. They should be hunted down and exterminated!"

"They are oppressed, and you won't see my point I'm trying to make. You are closed minded!"

"Enough;" shouted Mr. Chang. "Cho is upset enough. I don't want this going any further. It's best if you went home now. Cool off." He took her by the elbow and showed her to the door.

This is stupid. I'm out of here;" answered Marietta and she walked off in the direction of the Three Broomsticks Pub.

Cho joined her father at the door and watched her friend walk off. She wondered if this was the end to that childhood friendship.

Dad? Marietta said something that now seems strange to me. She said: I can understand why Were's are attacking and robbing people. But dad I never said they were Were's. How did she know?
