Early Morning

How did I get so lucky? Wrapped up in your arms, your steady heat beat lures me into a contented place.

Your not awake, your steady breathing eases me.

I'm awake, I watch you through adored passion eyes.

My body yearns for you, I snuggle closer.

My heart swells with the knowledge that you are the one and everything I have ever shunned about loved, devotion and ever after means nothing.

I've found you.

The sun tries to peep through our closed bedroom curtain,

Our bedroom, our life coming to light.

You turn your head towards me.

Is that a smile? I can't resist you, I never could deny you

I lean in for a kiss.

I love your lips; they glide smoothly under mine,

My heart gives a welcome jolt.

It's a simple kiss, a short kiss.

You look too innocent to be woken up,

I resettle myself, resting my head on your chest,

My wild long hair tickles your nose.

You mumble and you draw me closer still,

I'm waiting for our hearts to beat in sync

And there it is, two hearts mine and yours

But there not really ours are they?

We gave them to each other long ago.

Contented bliss
