No time had passed as they got to Asgard. Skye gasped when they got there. Catching her breath "Fuck. That was weird."
Thor chuckled "Ah. Yes. Humans do sometimes find it strange. Are you okay?" He asked
Skye nodded and let out a breath.
"Come. I will show you to my place." He said grabbing her bag and leading the way. Saying hello and introducing her to everyone who would come to greet him. Everyone there was aware of the situation and knew the girl needed protection and that her being there needed to be kept quiet.
Once they made it to the house they would be staying in she smiled at him. "You are well loved by your people." Skye said
Thor shrugged "Yes. Tis is true. I love them all too."
Skye smiled "I can tell."
Thor showed her to a bedroom "This will be your room." He put her suitcase on the bed.
"Thank you." Skye said with a smile.
"I will let you get settled. You can use anything in the room. Or in the house." Thor said before leaving the room.
Skye opened her suitcase and emptied it out before putting the suitcase away in the small closet. She figured she was going to be there for a few weeks she didn't want to be living out of the suitcase the whole time. She sat on the bed and took a good look at the room. It was a really nice room. It was on the smaller sizes of room. But Skye didn't care. It was really nicely decorated. She found it hard to believe that Thor had much to do with the decorating of the house but whomever did had good tastes. The room was a pastel yellow color. The bed was queen sized and had a thick patchwork blanket on top. The dresser in the room was a six-drawer dresser and was white. It matched the bedframe and the bedside tables on either side of the bed. There was also a white rocking chair in the corner of the room. There was only one small window in the room, but the view was beautiful outside. It was really cozy, and she felt like she would feel really comfortable there for the next few weeks.
She took out her phone and texted Steve.
'Did you expect me to tell you I am here safe?' she sent
'Expect it no. Appreciate it yes.' Steve sent back a small smile on his face.
"Who's texting you?" Bucky asked
"Skye. She wasn't sure if I expected her to text me that they got there safe." Steve said
"Haven't had the chance to really talk about it. How are you handling it?" Bucky asked
"Haven't had much time to think about it. Just been on auto pilot doing everything to make sure she is safe." Steve said
Bucky nodded. "Well she might not be here, but I think she is in the second-best place she could be."
Steve nodded "I agree."
"So. What are you thinking about it all?" Bucky asked
"Still sitting in the anger of the whole situation. That girl is my daughter. And I didn't even know she existed. She was here for six months, and I still didn't know. She has been through hell. And I wasn't there to protect her." Steve said
"But none of that is your fault." Bucky said "You cant expect to be able to protect anyone when you don't know they need to be protected or that they even exist. And you did everything you could to protect her in the past six months. Even before you knew your relation."
"She was being physically abused and I didn't know. She was to scared to tell me the truth about what happened Friday because she was afraid I would believe she used her strength against the other girls in the home. In six months I haven't been able to make her trust me to protect her and trust her." Steve said
"I think that has more to do with everything she has been through. I don't think she has ever been able to trust adults to be on her side. Not really to do with anything you didn't do." Bucky said
Steve nodded abit.
"Rogers. A girl who has spent thirteen years being told what to do and being given up on by every. Single. Adult in her life. Is going to take more than six months of weekends and a few other days here and there to be able to trust that they will not turn on her too." Bucky said
Steve nodded again. "I just thought she knew she could trust me."
"Give it time. And be there. Show her that you will be there. And never give up on her." Bucky said, "Do what I know you are going to do because I have known you since we were kids." Bucky said
"Thanks. And I know you have done a lot to help her too. So thank you." Steve said
Bucky raised and eyebrow.
"I was checking security footage for something. Saw you in the gym when she was punching at the bag. I could tell you two were having a pretty intense conversation. I don't know what about exactly. But I know you helped her. And I have seen the connection you two have had. Uncle and niece like connection." Steve said
Bucky nodded. "Well you are the closest thing I have to a brother so that makes her my niece."
Steve nodded and smirked "Yes. That is usually how someone becomes an uncle."
Bucky chuckled.
The two were quiet for a bit.
"Can't believe the trouble she got into in one weekend." Steve said
"Ah. But maybe she got in trouble because deep down she knew you wouldn't abandon her." Bucky said
Steve nodded abit "Maybe."
"And can you really be angry with her for the DNA thing. It reveled something pretty important to know." Bucky said
"Yes. It did but that was not the right way to go about it. However I didn't go very hard on her for that." Steve said.
"Going soft already?" Bucky asked with a smirk.
Steve shook his head at Bucky.
Morgan ran into the room. "Don't tell daddy where I am!" she whispered and ran and hid behind the couch.
Tony came into the room. "You seen Morgan?" Tony asked looking frustrated.
Steve and Bucky looked at each other and smirked.
"Nope. Not at all." Bucky said nodding his head towards the couch.
"Me neither." Steve said also indicating to behind the couch.
Tony smirked. "Well. I guess she doesn't want ice cream after she gets dressed and ready for the day." Tony said as he started to leave the room.
"No Daddy! I'm here!" She said jumping out from behind the couch.
Tony curled his finger for the little girl to come to him.
Morgan went over slowly biting her lip.
"Go." He said sternly to the little girl.
Morgan quickly went to her room.
Tony shook her head and followed her.
Steve and Bucky chuckled before going about the rest of their day.
Skye finished getting settled and went into the main living area of the house. Thor was in the kitchen with a bright pink apron on at the stove cooking something. She smirked and took a picture with her phone before going over.
"Anything I can help with?" Skye asked
"Ah. Nope. Almost ready. I am making you a traditional Asgardian dish." He said
Skye smiled "Smells good. What is it?"
"It is a traditional dish that is made with mutton." Thor said
"Mutton?" Skye asked
"Sheep meat." Thor said
"Oh. Okay. Don't think I have ever had that." Skye said
"Yes. Not a type of meat used often where you have lived." Thor said
Skye nodded
"But I do think you will like it." Thor said
Skye smiled "Always willing to try new things."
"Ah. A food adventurer." Thor said with a smile
"Of course." Skye said, "How can we know what are favorite things are without trying new things?" Skye asked
Thor nodded "Agreed."
"I like your apron." She said holding back a giggle.
"Yes. Not mine. I had a black one somewhere. Not sure where this one came from." Thor said
Skye nodded "I'm guessing someone else cooked here before."
"Ah yes. Jane Foster." He said a smile on his face.
"Jane Foster? She your girlfriend?" Skye asked
"I'm not that lucky." Thor said
"Pft. Her loss." Skye said
Thor chuckled.
He finished making the meal.
Skye found the dishes and silverware and set the table and they both sat down together to eat.
"How is mini America feeling?" Thro asked
Skye smiled abit and shrugged
"Ah. You don't want to be called that. Right." He said
"I just don't feel like that right now." Skye said
Thor nodded "Well. How do you feel Skye?" He asked
"I don't know." Skye said
Thor nodded "Feelings can be hard."
Skye nodded
"But I am told feeling are important." Thor said
"When I figure out what I'm feeling I'll let you know." She said with a small smile
Thor nodded "Okay. Good."
"So does Jane live around here?" Skye asked
"No. She live in London." Thor said
Skye nodded "I figured she was Asgardian."
Thor shook his head and told her how they met.
Skye listened and smiled. She could see even if he tried to hide it how much he liked this woman.
"So why aren't you two together?" Skye asked
"We are never in the same location." He said
"That's an excuse. You could use your axe and take you anywhere in a matter of seconds." Skye said
Thor raised an eyebrow.
"Am I wrong?" Skye asked
Thor took a sip of his drink and shook his head.
"Sorry. None of my business." Skye said
Thor smiled and shrugged.
"Do you have someone you like?" Thor asked
Skye shrugged and shook her head "Haven't really been around anyone I could."
Thor nodded. "You are young. You do not worry. You will find someone."
Skye smiled and nodded. She finished eating. "It was really good."
"Good." Thor said getting up and started to clear. Skye got up and helped him clear the kitchen. Once it was done she went to the bedroom and scrolled through social media. She sighed. It was quiet. Even if the group home sucked. There was always something to do people to hang out with. And at the compound always things to do. Here was just her and Thor. And it was quiet.
She went out into the living room where Thor was watching TV.
"Would you like to watch a movie?" Thor asked pointing towards a stack of movies.
"Sure." Skye said looking at the stack. She pulled out Star Wars.
"Ah. A classic I am told." He said
"Have you never seen star wars?" Skye asked
Thor shook his head.
"Well that needs to change now." She said going over to the blue ray player and put it in and sat down to watch it with him. They watched the first few movies till they were pretty much asleep.
"Okay. Its late. Time for sleep." Thor said
Skye agreed and they both went to bed.
