Chapter 17: A Day at the Beach

Author Note: Hello Everyone, I'm glad you all like what I have written for this story so far. Sorry for the delay, I had a lot of personal things happen IRL and idea planning to do.

In addition I was working on the first chapter of a Naruto x Akame Ga Kill crossover, which I have already posted. I would appreciate it if you were to check it out and leave a review.

It is about nine in the morning in Vacuo and a few days have pasted since Naruto and the others arrived at his hometown to get acquainted there or in Naruto's case reacquainted there. When Minato got home he and Arashi informed Naruto on a lot of things that have changed during the three years he was training with Jiraiya. Fortunately for Naruto while many buildings and certain rules have changed things aren't all that different from before.

Minato left to head to his office and Arashi left early to be around the Grimm Watch with Carmine (who is now Arashi's girlfriend). Naruto is now leaving his house to meet up with his friends for the beach today. However, he didn't expect Weiss to be outside his house. "Good morning Weiss." Naruto says.

"Good morning Naruto." Weiss says back.

"I thought I was supposed to meet up with you all at the hotel around 10. Did something happen?" Naruto asks.

"Nothing like that." Weiss begins to say. "This is something I need to do before heading to the beach and I need your help with it."

"What is it?" Naruto asks.

"Can you help me meet your father now?" Weiss asks.

Naruto raises an eyebrow. "Sure. I think he mentioned that today would be a slow day for him." Naruto says before the pair go to Shade Academy to talk speak to his dad.

After walking to the academy and a few minutes of waiting Naruto and Weiss got to meet up with Minato who was looking over a few documents before noticing the pair. "Good morning, what can I do for you two today?" Minato asks with a smile.

"Well here is the situation." Weiss begins saying in a more reserved voice then Naruto was expecting. "Before arriving here I had to get permission from my father to allow it. He let me go on the condition that he wanted me to find out why some of the inactive Schnee Dust Company mines and Dust refineries in Vacuo have been utilized without his approval, which is costing him Lien." Weiss finishes explaining things to Minato.

"I see, so that's what this is about." Minato says with a sigh. "Thanks for bringing this to my attention Weiss. I will be sure to call Jacques today to clear up this misunderstanding." Minato says.

"How is this a misunderstanding?" Weiss says with visible confusion not understanding how something so serious could be a misunderstanding.

"Well to make a long story short I bought those mines and refineries, so now they are property of the Vacuo." Minato says to the silent shock of the pair of teens. "Once again thank you for bringing this to my attention Weiss and thank you for bringing her here Naruto. You both did what you needed to do, so now go have fun with your friends." Minato says to the pair.

The pair let the academy and leave to meet up with their friends. They have been silent for a good while until Naruto decides to fix this. "You okay Weiss?" He asks.

"I'm okay, just shocked is all." Weiss said not expecting things to turn out this way. She knew that Jacques didn't really like dealing with Vacuo, but she finds it hard to believe he would actually sell the mines and refineries to avoid dealing with Vacuo especially since he said that Lien was being 'stolen'. All she does know is that Jacques will become very agitated at the future call from Minato.

"I hear you." Naruto begins to say. "Dad and Arashi didn't mention that to me either. But it's as my dad says we did all we could do at the moment, so all we can do now is have fun with our friends."

Weiss sighs. "I guess so." With that there conversation ends and they meet up with the others.

Some time later the group meet up and take an Air Bus to the Gossan Beach Resort where they will spend the rest of their vacation over. The group eventually made some small talk for a while until Blake speaks. "Hey Naruto, can you tell me something?" She asks her fellow Faunus, grabbing everyone's attention.

"Sure, what is it Blake?" Naruto says.

"A few days ago Carmine told us that Vacuo became a monarchy." Blake begins saying. "As a result your father got into power as the ruler of a kingdom. So does that make Minato a king and by association you and Arashi princes?" She finally asks getting some surprised looks all around.

"Not exactly. While my dad is the ruling leader of Vacuo he isn't really a king." Naruto begins explaining. "He knows he is only one person so he can't handle all of Vacuo's problems at once, especially since he is also the Headmaster of a Hunter academy which needs to deal with the threat of the Grimm as well. So his solution was to choose trusted individuals to help distribute the many issues the kingdom has like taxes, laws, food supply management, medical care, building construction, and diplomatic relations are some examples of this. While my dad does have the final say in all of these matters they all work together to help Vacuo thrive. Then before for my dad and the other individuals retire they teach their successors how everything is run so they can ensure things run smoothly for the future." Naruto finishes explaining.

This surprises a many members of the group, as it seems that Minato had laid out a system that is potentially better then the system the other kingdoms follow.

Gossan Beach Resort

"Wow." Ruby, Fū, and Nora say after the group arrives at Gossan Beach Resort. It was a new sight for them seeing all sorts of fancy looking building and a huge skyscrapers linking the mainland to the ocean.

"You can say that again." Yang says appreciating the location.

Weiss, Emerald, Blake, and Ren are speechless at the sight of this very fancy location in disbelief. It makes them wonder how something like this became possible I only a few years.

"So how exactly are we going to afford all of this Naruto?" Sasuke voices his opinion on the expensive looking location grabbing everyone's attention, as they didn't consider that.

"Don't worry about that." Naruto begins to explain. "Dad said he will pay for all of us as long as we don't go crazy with spending Lien. But if we are able to afford something then we have to pay out of our own pocket."

After explaining the group goes to the main hotel to get their assigned rooms and get dressed for the beach. The guys of the group got out first and wait the girls on the beach. Naruto is currently wearing an open orange t-shirt jacket with some black zigzags and black swim trunks with a picture of a fox on them. Sasuke is currently wearing an open black jacket with and black swim trunks. Ren is wearing an open gray jacket and gray swim trunks with both having the designs of grass and pink flowers on them.

After a minute the girls are about to arrive but… "Yang let go me!" Yells Ruby.

"Come on you sis you already have the swimsuit on you can't get cold feet now." Yang says trying to be encouraging.

"I knew this was a bad idea. Why did I let you talk me into this?" Ruby complains again.

"Relax Ruby you look fine." Fū says.

"Besides even Blake is here. You literally have no excuse." Yang says.

"Sounds like Ruby's making a scene." Sasuke says.

"Should we check up on them?" Ren asks.

"I'm sure it will be fine in a few minutes." Naruto says as he and the other guys turn around to see the girls arrive.

"We are here!" Nora says excitedly. She is wearing a pink an white bikini with pink hearts on it.

"Sorry for the delay we had to take care of something." Blake says. She is wearing a black one-piece swim dress with a small rhombus opening in the center. But the most surprising thing is that she is without her signature bow and showing off her cat ears.

"No kidding Ruby was being very stubborn." Yang says. She is wearing a red bikini bottom that is tied in ribbons on the side while her top has red and white stripes.

"Well this wouldn't be an issue if you just let me bring a jacket!" Ruby yells with a blush. She is wearing a red and white one-piece swimsuit.

"Lighten up Ruby! You have nothing to be embarrassed about." Fū says. She is wearing a typical orange bikini.

"Says you!" Ruby yells back.

"Fū has made a lot of energetic friends." Emerald says. She is wearing a white bikini with green straps.

"You know it!" Fū says to her sister.

Ruby turns to her partner. "You have my back Weiss, Right?" Ruby asks.

"We are already here, might as well make the most of this." Weiss says. She is wearing a white bikini with blue straps.

"No way." Ruby says in disappointment. After that the group set up their station at the beach and divided into different groups. Weiss, Blake, and Sasuke decided to catch some shade under the umbrellas, while Naruto (who is getting sunlight) decided to not go to the ocean just yet. Ruby (with some reluctance at first), Yang, Fū, Emerald, Nora, and Ren (because of Nora) went to the Ocean to splash water around and hit beach balls.

"I'm surprised to see you not at the ocean. Isn't being social your thing Naruto?" Sasuke asks his friend.

"I'm probability going to join them soon I just wanted to make sure Ruby was okay." Naruto clarifies.

"Yang is Ruby's sister. It was only a matter of time before things would get better." Blake says. She now notices that Naruto is looking at her. "Is there something wrong?" She asks.

"No I'm just surprised that you decided to ditch the ribbon and showing off the cat ears." Naruto comments.

"Actually I was wondering about that as well." Weiss begins to say. "Why the change of heart?"

"Well for one thing I didn't want to lose my ribbon." Blake begins to explain. "And two we are in the kingdom that literally doesn't care about the Faunus vs. Human debate. So I thought why not."

"Fair enough." Naruto says before joining Ruby's group for a bit of fun noticing Ruby is arguing with Yang again.

Some time later Ruby decided to get some space from the others but Naruto decided to follow her. "Why are you following me Naruto?" Ruby said.

"I just wanted to know if you were okay considering you arguing with Yang a lot today." Naruto says.

"I'm okay, Yang was just teasing me on my lack of hand to hand combat skills. Really it's nothing new." Ruby says with a sigh.

"Why?" Naruto asks.

"Because I'm not good at it. Yang tried to teach me multiple times but nothing works." Ruby begins to say. "But it got real stupid today because I made a bet about it and I basically shot myself in the foot." Ruby finishes explaining.

"Do you want me to help you with that?" Naruto offers.

"You would really help me?" Ruby says hopeful.

"Sure. If a friend needs help I will assist them." Naruto says.

"That's great! When do we start?" Ruby says with excitement.

"Now if you want." Naruto says with Ruby nodding her head. "Okay, but before I can truly help I want you to show me what Yang has taught you first." Naruto says in a more serious but still friendly voice.

As Naruto and Ruby spar the other members of the group look on to the fight. "Whoa never seen Ruby this motivated before about hand to hand combat before." Fū says.

"Yep and it's all thanks to that bet I came up with. Maybe Ruby will finally convert to the Xiao Long School of Badass." Yang says with confidence. "Dad taught me I and I taught Ruby."

"You say that but…" Blake begins to say with hesitation.

"But what?" Yang asks in confusion.

"Ruby's moves are sloppy and they look like they aren't doing much." Sasuke says noticing that Ruby has been trying to punch Naruto, but it results in Naruto blocking or dodging with ease. "I can tell Naruto's Semblance isn't triggering from here."

"Yeah Ruby is a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to this." Yang says. Then the spar

ends with Ruby being frustrated again and kicking the sand. "Oh boy here we go again." Yang says. "Well it's time for some sisterly advice."

"Hold on a minute Yang." Weiss begins to say. "Maybe you should let Naruto handle this."

Yang then looks at Weiss. "Are you implying I don't give good advice?" Yang asks her teammate.

"All I'm saying is that another 'and possibly unbiased' perspective might be good for Ruby." Weiss says thinking about the negative thought.

"Alright lets calm down everyone." Fū says getting between the two girls. "Yang I get that you want to protect Ruby and have your sister bonding time. Weiss you want Ruby to strive to be the best she can be and make her more independent. You both want what's best for her so lets take a deep breath and…oh my." Fū begins to say before seeing something. The group turns to see something that surprises them and makes Yang's eyes turn red.

A few moments before Yang's eyes turn red Naruto and Ruby finish the spar. Before Naruto could say anything yells in frustration and kicks the sand. "Are you okay?" Naruto asks.

"No." Ruby says begins to say in frustration. "I already knew I sucked at this, but I embarrassed myself a lot today. First with the swimsuit now the spar. I made a complete fool of myself."

"I wouldn't say you made a fool of yourself. But that doesn't mean you suck at hand to hand fighting." Naruto says.

"What are you talking about?" Ruby says confused.

"I have an idea, but it will require you to trust me completely even if it makes you feel embarrassed. Are you okay with that?" Naruto asks seriously.

Ruby stays silent for a bit before speaking. "I trust you." Ruby says with certainty.

"As long as you are sure." Naruto begins to say. "First I want you to take a stance that reflects you about to swing Crescent Rose and stand completely still."

Ruby raises and eyebrow in confusion but complies. She brings her arms up and makes her legs stand a small distance apart. 'This actually feels like a fighting stance.' Ruby thinks starting to see some benefit in doing this. "So what's EKK!?" Ruby begins to say before squeaking with a blush. The reason is that Naruto is currently touching and feeling her left leg. "Naruto what are you-"

"Sorry about this Ruby, I'm almost done. Please stay still a bit longer." Naruto interrupts her before moving to her right leg. After a few more seconds Naruto stops. "Sorry about that Ruby, that must have been difficult for you." He says to his friend.

"Please tell me you figured something out." Ruby says with a huge blush on her face still feeling a little tense.

Naruto smiles at her. "I did you see-"

"OH HELL NO!" Suddenly Yang yells and interrupts him with a punch to the face. She then quickly turns to her sister. "Are you okay Ruby? Did he do anything bad to you?" Yang asks her sister.

"No, Naruto didn't do anything." Ruby said blush gone from her face.

"OW! What the hell Yang!?" Naruto yell.

"No Naruto, Yang is completely justified." Weiss said as the rest of the group approaches. "Frankly I'm disappointed in you."

Naruto is shocked at this. "What did I do?"

"Don't play dumb!" Yang turns to Naruto with red eyes. "You were feeling up my sister you pervert!" She yells.

"I'm not a pervert! I was helping Ruby with hand to hand combat." Naruto defends himself.

"How does touching Ruby's legs help!?" Yang says not believing him.

"It helped me realize you don't know anything about Ruby's body." Naruto counters.

'Dumbass.' Sasuke thinks realizing that Naruto had worded his answer the wrong way.

Yang grits her teeth. "Would you like to rephrase that comment?" Yang asks.

"You mean by telling you that you are a bad teacher." Naruto says back as Yang's anger increases and the rest of the group (except Sasuke) is starting to get confused by this conversation.

"Hey Dumbass instead of letting your anger talk and give one sentence answers, how about you explain things in detail." Sasuke yells.

"You were about to tell me something before Yang punched you." Ruby says.

Naruto takes a deep breath. "Right sorry about that." Naruto apologizes before continuing. "Let me explain. Yang you were trying to teach Ruby how to fight like you correct?" Naruto asks.

"Yeah what about it?" Yang says eyes still red.

"That fighting style works well for people that can give a good forward punch and purely offensive like you and me." Naruto begins to explain. "However, that kind of fighting style won't work for Ruby."

"What do you mean? I thought I was just bad." Ruby asks confused.

"Ruby, your body type is more speed oriented and your strongest physical attribute is your legs. Yang's body type is more power oriented and her arms are her strongest physical attribute. So you see Ruby it not that you are a bad fighter, you were just taught a fighting style that didn't suit you." Naruto finishes explaining.

"Then you touching Ruby's legs were to?" Yang says now her eyes turning back to normal.

"It was to confirm the Ruby's leg muscles, which I already had a theory about considering the kind of Semblance Ruby has." Naruto explains.

This surprises the group (except Sasuke) and realized that they made a mistake of accusing Naruto of something immoral and they all apologize. After a few minutes the sun begins to set ending the day at the beach.

My goal for this chapter was to have Weiss deal with the situation she was given and the others having a good time at the beach. I also wanted to show more bonding between Naruto and Ruby.

1. The Gossan Beach Resort is a custom location I created. It is based on Dubai a standout desert city in the United Arab Emirates.

2. Naruto's outfit is a modified from Ichigo Kurosaki from episode 228.

3. Ren's outfit is based on Robin Hood's costume 1 from Fate Grand Order with some modifications.

4. Nora's outfit is based on Gareth (Saber) Stage 2 from Fate Grand Order with a modification.

5. Blake's outfit is based on Artoria Pendragon Alter (Rider) Stage 1 from Fate Grand Order with a modification.

6. Yang's outfit is Nero Claudius (Caster) Stage 1 from Fate Grand Order.

7. Ruby's outfit is Nitocris (Assassin) Stage 2 from Fate Grand Order, but the colors are reversed.

8. Fū's outfit is Oda Nobunaga (Berserker) Stage 3 from Fate Grand Order.

9. Emerald's outfit is Okita J Sōji (Assassin) Stage 3 from Fate Grand Order.

10. Weiss's outfit is Artoria Pendragon (Rider) Stage 1 from Fate Grand Order.

11. The Naruto and Ruby scene was based from a scene from an anime called "Chivalry of a Failed Knight" only less intense.
