A/N There's the same characters except Sebastian is there as himself, Viola never came as her brother, and the dorms are changed around.
Disclaimer- I do not own She's the Man
"You got to be kidding me." Was all Stephanie could say. She was sitting in the main office staring at the secretary like the woman had lost her mind.
"Where's the headmaster? I want to talk to him."
"I'm sorry Miss Gavin, but he's in a meeting right now. If you could-"
"This is ridiculous! Isn't there a rule against putting girls in the boys dorm?"
"We put you with a responsible boy, and your dorm is one with the shower in the bathroom. I'm sure you'll be fine."
"Does my roommate know?" Stephanie asked hoping there was a slight chance he was gay.
"No, but he'll be in any minute from soccer practice. So I suggest you go and set up your side of the room." She said handing Stephanie the room key.
Shouldering her bag and picking up her guitar Stephanie left the office and began the long walk to the boy's dorms. The hallway was relatively quiet which made it easier to slip into her room unnoticed. About the size of her bedroom the dorm was nicely arranged with two beds, two small dressers, a computer desk with a TV on it, and the bathroom. Stephanie set her bag on her bed, slid her guitar case under the bed, and began to unpack. She was putting the last articles of her clothing when her roommate walked in the door.
She turned to greet him, expecting some meat head, or future fraternity brother, but instead found the most gorgeous guy she had ever seen standing in front of her.
"Wha- Uh…" he managed to get out.
"The girl dorms are that way." His friend who was standing behind him said.
"I know. They ran out of room there…So it looks like I'm your new roommate." The boys could hear her Texas drawl and it made her roommate smile.
She held out her hand, "I'm Stephanie."
With a nudge from his friend the dumbfounded boy put a sentence together. "I'm Duke."
"And we're Andrew and Toby," Duke's two friends told Stephanie, "See you later Duke." They said leaving the two alone.
"This is really awkward. I'm sorry. I don't know why they didn't just waiting till there was an opening…" She apologized sitting down on her bed. Duke just stood there.
He didn't know what to say. He had always had trouble talking around pretty girls, and Stephanie was no exception. She was fit, and a little tan. She had medium red curly hair that was parted on the side and pulled up into a ponytail. Her hair made her freckles and emerald green eyes stand out so you could take your eyes off her face. Don't just stand here staring! Say something! Duke scolded himself.
"It's okay. Really…So where are you from?"
"Texas. The accent didn't give me away?" Stephanie said with a smile.
Whoa. She even looks better when she's smiling.
"It's not that bad. It fits you." Duke answered returning the smile.
He looks like a God. And that smile only makes him hotter.
"I heard you play soccer."
"Yeah, I love it. What about you?"
"Football's more my style. I mean, I only play it for fun, like with my friends or something, but I love watching it. Personally, I suck at soccer."
Duke laughed and grabbed a change of clean clothes. But before going in he stopped and told his new roomy, "Welcome to Illyria."
"Thanks."
I think I'm going to like this school.
