Attention

Iruka put up his best angered glare. However, this was futile; Kakashi was not deterred. The jounin leaned closer to his fellow teacher, the grin on his face large enough to be seen through his mask.

"Don't you dare," said Iruka quietly. He was trying not to attract the attention of the people on the street.

Kakashi gave a semi-fake pout. "But you said I could earlier..." he trailed off, leaving the rest of the arguing to his glistening puppy eyes (or rather, eye).

Iruka could feel the blush on his face and decided it would be best if he glared again. "When I said that, I was not referring to a time that we would be in public."

"Please?" Kakashi whined, his tone reminding Iruka of his younger students. The pair (and their bickering) were beginning to attract the attention of passers by.

"Only if you want to lose something rather important to your masculinity." That threat seemed to work. Kakashi sighed and backed off a good distance to walk behind the chuunin.

Iruka gave a quiet sigh. He felt a strange sense of guilt for what he had said to Kakashi, but at least no one was giving them funny looks now. Iruka decided that he kind of (maybe in the back of his mind) missed the jounin's pesterings. After having Kakashi whining to him all day, his absence left Iruka feeling a little bit empty. Maybe he should go back and apologize for the things that he'd said.

There was a slight tug on the back of his head and almost instantly his hair was down and brushing his neck and cheeks. Iruka felt his eyebrow twitch; Ok, no apologizing now.

"Kakashi!" he yelled, turning around to face his assailant. "I said no!"

Kakashi seemed to cower a little, but his grin remained. He spun Iruka's small hair-tie on one finger. "But you look cuter like this." The jounin seemed to offer this statement as an apology.

Iruka quickly glanced around, but he didn't need to. Everyone on the street had now gone quite and was now staring at them. He sighed and hung his head in defeat; so much for not attracting attention.

Kakashi grinned.

.end.

So, I wrote this on sticky notes whilst waiting for my computer to stop having spaz-fits... don't ask where it came from.
