It was December 31st, today is New Years Eve and everyone was going out and excited to see the ball drop in New York City. Well, that wasn't going to be the plan for Amaria, because, she is going to be trying to get used to the loneliness that stung the air in and around the apartment. This would begin by Amaria staying to her routines and not feeling at a loss of what to do with herself. She was in the middle of cooking something in the microwave when her phone started buzzing, she picked it up it was, Chloe, who wanted to face time with her.

"Hey Amaria, we were thinking about you and wanted you to come hang out with us and see the ball drop.", Chloe said over face time.

Amaria was silent. This would be her first time that she would be out of the house since she broke up with Ethan. Amaria thought about it,

"Sure.",said Amaria.

"Alright, see you soon.",said Chloe.

She hung up and Amaria tried to get dressed in fresher clothes.

Few Minutes Later~

Amaria drove all the way to Times Square to meet her friends. She parked and began the hunt to find her friends. When she got there she ran to hug her three female friends, Sabrina, Amber and Chloe. They were ready to enjoy seeing the ball drop. After a few more minutes passed and Amaria was getting antsy, she couldn't understand why the ball was not going down.

"I'm going to get a drink.",sighed Amaria.

She walked off knowing that her friends didn't mind. Amaria found the nearest restaurant that was in Times Square. She went inside to sit at the bar. Amaria just wanted to get a soda. She had thought sitting at the bar was a good idea because she was not ordering food. Unfortunately, it did not turn out to be a good thing, the bartender handed Amaria a drink.

"Why are you giving me this?",asked Amaria.

"I thought you may need it.",said the bartender.

"But sir I don't drink.",said Amaria.

She was remembering stories from her mother about how her estranged grandfather used to drink a lot and would be very abusive. That was something that Amaria had told herself a long time ago to stay away from.

"Well since you looked down in the dumps, I thought to cheer you up." shared the bartender.

"Well, you're right. I have just broken up my engagement and I feel alone in my apartment.", confided Amaria.

"That's what I'm trying to tell you, don't you want it?", he asked.

Amaria was silent for a few seconds before taking a sip. Amaria felt that it was good.

"Bartender I would like another.",she said.
