Haven't written a BH fic in yonks...years even...one would hope my writing has improved somewhat. Sadly, I am still stuck on the 'Maggie isn't dead' storyline. Hoping people are still interested in reading...if so, pleaase leave some reviews.
Once A Distant Memory – Part 1
Everyone had wanted her to walk through that station door for years, but when she had, no one suspected a thing.
"Can I help you?" Joss asked the blonde woman in the suit.
She smiled politely at the young constable, "I'm Detective Louise Ramsay, here about the arson attacks"
"I can't believe they sent a big wig up from the city!" Joss whined. He couldn't believe that head office had sent up a city detective when Mt Thomas had two very capable detectives at work on the case.
"Come through," Joss said with a sigh.
"Yes well obviously your detectives aren't able to crack the case, which is why I'm here," Detective Ramsay stated with a grin as she came further into the station.
Joss just nodded and went along with what Detective Ramsay was saying. He knew her type. She was one of those city detectives who thought they knew better than those out in the so called 'sticks'.
"Joss," PJ came out of his office. "You checked out those rego's yet?"
"Nah, I'm working on it though," He told PJ. "PJ this is detective Ramsay. Reckons she's here to investigate those fires"
PJ looked up from the file had been skimming over. He stared in disbelief at the woman before him, unsure of whether he was hallucinating.
"Mags?" Her name rolled off his tongue easily, even after so many years.
Joss looked at PJ strangely. What the heck was he on about?
Clearing his throat, Joss corrected him, "No, it's Louise… Detective Louse Ramsay…"
An eerie silence fell upon the three of them as the two detectives' eyes connected. PJ knew there and then that he wasn't hallucinating. He knew that the woman in front of him was in fact Maggie Doyle.
