Words Kept to Myself

-

I stand here now in silent wonder,

At the splendor before the balcony.

My mind drifts back to the gentle promise,

Made on bended knee.

-

A promise made I tried to keep,

My mind a hopeless mess.

Mind racing of your pleasant beauty,

Yet I treated you like the rest.

-

I can't say a thing here now,

My heart pulsing through my ears.

Mind swaying with all the words,

I know you can never hear.

-

I shake my head,

And sigh in my disgrace.

No of course you'll never just quite know,

What I see when I see your face.

-

Your silent call of my name,

Makes me sure to turn.

I'm not one worthy of protecting you,

As I'm sure you will learn.

-

I sit here now with friends at bay,

Scold me, go ahead, that's right.

I deserve every word I hear,

Still not worthy yet to fight.

-

I can't compete with royal guards,

And princes with good blood.

Remember our false marriage?

How I thought I was a stud.

-

None of that matters now,

For I know without a doubt.

I'll always be your friend sweet princess,

But love you'll have to live without.
