Chapter 47
"Honey I'm home!" Leonard announced as he walked through the door, wearing a goofy smile as Penny and Sarah looked at him, confused and puzzled.
"Why are you home so early?" Penny asked.
"What do you mean?" asked Leonard.
"Well, what happened at your bachelor party?" Penny asked.
"Oh I snuck out!" he said as he sat between his girls on the couch. "I figured I'd let them have all the fun tonight!" he added while kissing Penny and Sarah on the cheek.
"But honey, won't they miss you over there?" Penny asked.
"I don't care. It's my bachelor party and I could do whatever I want and what I want is to be at home with my girls!" he said.
Sarah hugged her father, sniffing at his shirt. "Daddy, you smell funny." she said. "Are you drunk?" Sarah added.
"I'm sorry honey but I had too much to drink tonight. I promise it won't happen again." he said while trying to console the little girl.
Penny decided to stand up and pull Sarah to the kitchen. "Come on sweetheart, let's make some coffee for your father." she said as Sarah followed her to the kitchen.
Leonard leaned his head back on the couch. "I love you honey!" he said.
After a few minutes, Sarah handed a cup of coffee to her father. "Here's your coffee daddy." she said as Leonard took the cup from her.
"Thank you honey." he said while taking a sip.
"So tell us, what happened at the party?" asked Penny while sitting beside him.
"The usual I guess, you know, the guys telling embarrassing stories about me, toasting to my happiness, that sort of stuff." he said.
"Besides the guys, who else was there?" Penny asked.
"Let me see, Stuart and a few guys from the comic book store, some of my colleagues from CalTech, oh and Howard invited Barry too!" he said smiling at Penny.
"Barry? Wasn't he the guy that I kicked in the nuts!?" Penny asked.
"Yeah but don't worry, he's still as sleazy as before." he said laughing a little.
"Why did you kicked Mr. Barry in the nuts mommy?" Sarah asked laughing a little with her father.
"Because he said something about your father that I didn't like!" Penny said. "He stood there with a smug smile on his face and then, BAM!, I kicked him right in the nuts. I'm telling you, the look on his face was priceless!" she added making Sarah and Leonard laugh.
"That is so cool!" Sarah said.
"Okay, I think your daddy needs to get some sleep." said Penny as she pulled Leonard to stand up. "Go and brush your teeth and go straight to bed sweetheart." Penny told Sarah.
"Okay mommy." Sarah said as she ran to the bathroom.
The couple also washed up in the bathroom after Sarah was done before going the bedroom to rest.
"I'm sorry you missed your bachelor party honey." said Penny kissing Leonard on the cheek.
Leonard gave her a big smile. "Hey it's no big deal. I'd rather be here than get drunk and do something crazy. And I already have a daughter so I have to be careful with what I do." he said.
"You are so great." said Penny kissing him again. "Tell me, did the guys hire a stripper?" she asked.
Leonard bowed his head. "Yeah." he said softly. "Hence, the only reason for Barry being there." he added.
"Aww, poor baby. Your last time at being a bachelor and you chose to stay home with us?" she said.
"Best decision I made honey!" he said while hugging her tight.
Penny then smiled at him and quickly locked the door before turning around to face him with a goofy smile on her face. "Well, you may have missed the best part of your bachelor party so I think it's only right to have your own bachelor party right here!" she said as she started to remove her robe while giving Leonard a lovely look.
"Uh, what are you doing?" he asked.
"Why, you wanna go back there to watch another stripper or do you want your own private stripper right here?" she said teasing him.
Leonard's eye widened as Penny removed nightshirt while playfully walking towards him. "Uh." was all he could say as Penny lightly touched his face, neck and arms, sending electricity all over his body.
"Hey Mr. Bachelor, are you ready for your surprise!?" she whispered in his ear. Leonard didn't say a word and just nodded his head making Penny squeal in delight. She quickly pushed Leonard on the bed, surprising him before straddling him. "You've been a bad scientist Dr. Hofstadter!" she playfully said while leaning on his shoulder.
"Uh, what are you gonna do to me?" Leonard anxiously asked.
"I am going to punish you!" she said giving him a stern look. "Do you have any last words?" she asked.
"Uh." Leonard muttered.
"That's good enough!" Penny said as she began kissing Leonard while trying to remove his clothes. Leonard didn't have a chance to fight back as Penny continued with her attacks while they buried themselves under the covers, making love.

A day before the wedding, the couple, along with their friends were busy with preparations especially in picking up the couple's family.
In Amy's car:
"I am so excited that Leonard is finally settling down!" said Sheldon's mother Mary.
"Well, we're all happy for them. They deserve to be happy, especially Leonard after everything he's been through." said Amy as she drove her car along the freeway.
"I know. When June got sick and passed away, I prayed to Jesus everyday that Leonard would finally find happiness!" said Mary. "I guess it's a blessing that his daughter is such an angel." she added.
"Yeah, Leonard really did great in raising his daughter. Even if she grew up without a mother, Sarah has been nothing but sweet and kind to everyone including me when I joined their social group." said Amy.
"Sheldon also told me that Sarah is going to this school for very smart kids?" Mary asked.
"Yes. Sarah has full scholarship from that school. I think they even give her a monthly allowance right Sheldon?" said Amy.
"You're right. They want to keep Sarah there, you know, for the school's reputation having someone so young who got a perfect score in their admission test." said Sheldon.
"She got a perfect score?" Mary asked.
"Yes mother, she did." Sheldon said.
"Well I guess it's a small reward for Leonard that his daughter is as smart as he is." said Mary.
"I couldn't have said it better myself." Amy said as she continued driving down the freeway.
In Penny's car:
"Mom, are you doing okay back there?" asked Penny as she looked in the rear-view mirror.
"I am. I guess I'm just a little nervous in meeting Leonard's parents." said Susan.
"Why would you be nervous about meeting Leonard's parents?" asked Wyatt.
"Well, they're all intellectuals and academics and we're just simple country folk and I don't think we could keep up with them." said Susan.
"Don't think like that mom. Leonard's father is kind and sweet and his mom has sort of mellowed down on the psychiatry stuff so you don't have to worry about anything." Penny said.
"She's right honey and besides, this day is about Penny and Leonard not to mention their daughter who's just a complete angel." said Wyatt.
"Yeah, I can't wait to meet the young lady. Didn't you tell me that she's smart?" Susan said.
"Well, smart is a simple way of putting it." said Penny.
"Yeah, I mean, how many six year old kids do you know who can solve algebra?" said Wyatt.
"Maybe Leonard taught her how to do it?" Susan said.
"No mom. She learned it by herself." said Penny.
"She learned it by herself? That is amazing!" said Susan.
"You're as surprised as we were when Leonard and I found out." said Penny.
"So, have you and Leonard talked about having children of your own?" Wyatt asked, slightly surprising Penny.
"Uh, we haven't talked about it dad. And, we're trying to focus on Sarah at the moment." Penny said.
"Why not? I mean, I'm sure you two would crank out beautiful babies!" said Wyatt.
"Your father's right sweetheart. We won't mind having more grandchildren." said Susan.
Penny took a deep breath, trying not to freak out. "Leonard and I are gonna have our own children when we're ready so could we please change the subject?" Penny said.
Wyatt tapped her on the shoulder. 'Don't freak out slugger, your mom and I are just happy for you and Leonard." he said.
In Leonard's car:
"Are you sure you guys don't want to stay in the apartment?" Leonard asked.
"Well, Penny called me the other day and she told me that they will book a room in a nearby hotel for us girls to use." said Cathy.
"Really?" he said.
"Yeah and I think she also booked the next room for her parents to stay in." said Cathy.
"Oh okay. I guess I'm a little surprised she didn't tell me about that." said Leonard.
"Relax dear and let us women handle everything." said Beverly.
"Fine mom." he said as he continued to drive along the highway.
"Are you excited for your mom and dad's wedding tomorrow?" Beverly asked Sarah.
"I am grandma. And I get to finally wear my tiara!" said the child.
"A tiara?" Cathy asked.
"Yes aunt Cathy! Uncle Sheldon did something to upset aunt Amy. Then me and mommy took uncle Sheldon to the mall so he could buy aunt Amy a present, you know to calm her down." Sarah said.
"Okay, I'm listening." Cathy said.
"Uncle Sheldon bought two tiaras, one for her and one for me!" Sarah said making Leonard smile.
"That is so generous of him." said Beverly.
"Well, aunt Amy was pretty excited when she saw the tiara so they're all good now." said Sarah.
"That's good to know dear." Beverly said.
"Is grandpa gonna come too?" Sarah asked.
"He is honey. Your uncle Raj and Howard is picking him up right now." said Leonard.

Back at the apartment:
"What time are they going to arrive sweetie?" Susan asked.
"They should be here any minute now." Penny said as she gave the tea to her mom and beer for Wyatt.
As soon as Penny sat down, they heard a knock on the door. Penny stood up to open it and found Amy, Sheldon and his mother Mary in the hall.
"Hi! Come in you guys! I want you to meet my parents!" she said as the three stepped into the apartment.
"Thank you Penny, this is my mother Mary. Mom this is Leonard's fiance, Penny." Sheldon said.
"Hi Mary! It's nice to finally meet Sheldon's mom!" Penny said giving her a tight hug.
"Ugh thank you Penny. It's nice to finally meet you too!" Mary said hugging her back.
"I want you all to meet my parents, Susan and Wyatt. Mom, dad, this are my friends Amy and Sheldon and his mom Mary." Penny said.
"Hi! It's so nice meeting you!" Susan said as she hugged Mary and Amy while Wyatt shook Sheldon's hand as they settled around the coffee table.
"So you must be very proud that your son is a genius huh?" Wyatt said to Mary.
"I am so proud. He doesn't want to admit it but all his science and stuff comes from the Lord Almighty!" Mary said as Sheldon sighed and kept quiet.
"Amy, let's make some more tea." Penny said as Amy followed her to the kitchen island.
"So you must be excited for your daughter huh?" Mary asked Susan and Wyatt.
Wyatt smiled. "Well, we're just glad that our daughter is not pregnant on her wedding day!" he said making penny laugh a little.
"I'm sorry?" asked Mary.
Susan touched Mary's hand. "Her older sister's water broke on her wedding reception while Wyatt was dancing with her." said Susan greatly surprising Amy, Sheldon and Mary.
"Oh my god! That is so terrible!" Mary said.
"Well at least the baby was healthy." Wyatt said while drinking his beer as the door opened with Leonard, Sarah, Beverly and Cathy walking into the apartment.
"Hey guys! Welcome home! Please make yourselves at home!" Penny said to Beverly and Cathy while Sarah hugged her stepmother and Leonard kissing her on the cheek. "Beverly, Cathy, I'd like you to meet my parents, Wyatt and Susan! Mom, dad, this is Leonard's mother Beverly and his sister Cathy." Penny said as Susan gave Beverly and Cathy a light hug while Wyatt shook their hands.
"It's so nice to finally meet you Beverly. Penny told me many things about you." said Susan.
"It's nice to meet you too Susan!" Beverly said as she looked at Mary sitting on the couch. Mary looked at her without any expression in her face. "Hello Mary." said Beverly.
"Hello Beverly. How are you doing?" Mary said.
"I'm doing fine, thank you for asking." Beverly said.
"That's good to know." said Mary giving her a halfhearted smile.
Penny moved beside Leonard. "Uh honey, what is happening?" she asked as they sensed the tension between the two ladies.
"Uh, how should I put this, my mom and Mary had a little misunderstanding a few years ago." said Leonard.
"Misunderstanding?" Penny asked.
"Yeah, I'll tell you later." said Leonard. "So how was your trip?" he asked as he shook Wyatt's hand.
"It's fine I guess." said Wyatt as he looked down to Sarah. "Hey sweetie! It's nice to see you again!" he said as he gave the child a hug.
"Does this mean that you're gonna be my grandpa too?" asked Sarah making the adults smile.
"Of course! And here is your grandma Susan." said Wyatt as he pulled his wife to his side to meet the child.
"Hi sweetie! Your mommy told me everything about you. She told me you're a very smart girl." said Susan.
"I guess. My mommy told me you have horses back in Nebraska?" Sarah said making Penny laugh a little.
"Well yeah. We have all sorts of animals in the farm. We have horses, goats, pigs, we have cats and dogs." said Susan.
Sarah then turned to Penny. "Mommy, when are we gonna visit Nebraska?" she asked.
"Uh, we can visit after the wedding sweetheart." Penny said.
Sarah's face lit up. "Really!?" she said.
"Of course!" said Penny. "Now why don't you take a seat while your aunt Amy and I make some tea alright?" Penny said.
"Okay mommy." said Sarah as she sat beside Beverly and Cathy.
A few minutes later, they heard a knock on the door. Leonard went to open it, seeing Raj and Howard with his father Alfred.
"Come in! Welcome dad." Leonard said as he shook Alfred's hand. "Let me introduce you to everyone. These are Penny's parents, Wyatt and Susan." he said as Penny's parents stood up to shake his hand.
"Hi! I'm Penny's father Wyatt." he said.
"I'm Alfred, nice to finally meet you!" said Alfred as he shook Wyatt and Susan's hands.
"The pleasure is ours Alfred." said Susan.
"Okay, dad why don't you take a seat. Penny's preparing some tea." said Leonard as Alfred took a seat while Sarah ran up to Alfred.
"I missed you grandpa!" Sarah said while hugging her grandfather.
"Aww, I missed you too little princess! Are you excited for the wedding?" said Alfred.
"I am grandpa." Sarah said.
"Dad, this is Sheldon's mother Mary." Leonard said.
Alfred shook Mary's hand. "Hello Mary! It's nice to finally meet you!" he said smiling at her.
"It's nice to meet you too!" Mary said smiling back at him.
"Hi Beverly! How was your trip?" said Alfred while giving her a light hug, surprising Leonard, Penny and Sarah.
"Hello Alfred. My trip was fine I guess, thanks for asking." said Beverly. "How about you? Are you doing okay?" she asked.
"I'm doing fine as well." said Alfred making Penny and Sarah smile at each other.
Alfred then turned to Cathy. "Hi sweetheart!" he said while hugging his daughter.
"Hi dad!" said Cathy as they all settled around the coffee table.
They continued to catch up and share stories with Sarah right in the middle of it, telling everyone about school, her friends and their Christmas vacation in New York. After a couple of hours, the girls had to pack-up their stuff so they could spend the night in the hotel to prepare for the wedding the next day while Wyatt and Alfred decided to stay at the apartment with Leonard.
"Do you have everything you need?" Leonard asked Penny.
"Yeah. A certain young lady is just so excited and can't wait to go to the hotel." said Penny as Sarah came out to the living room.
"Okay. Have fun you guys!" Leonard said as he kissed his girls.
"Bye daddy! You and grandpa behave okay!" she said making them laugh.
"Don't worry sweetheart, I'm gonna make sure your dad behaves himself." said Wyatt as Penny hugged her father.

After the girls left, Leonard took three beers from the fridge and gave each to Wyatt and Alfred.
"Thanks son." said Wyatt.
"Your welcome Wyatt." said Leonard.
"So are you excited? Nervous even?" asked Wyatt.
"A little bit of both I suppose." said Leonard. "I'm just glad that Penny said yes when I asked her to marry me." he added.
"Well I can see that my daughter is very happy with you." Wyatt said.
"Really? How can you tell?" Leonard asked.
"Leonard, I think I know my daughter longer than you've known her." said Wyatt. "And look at your daughter. The first time I met her, she was very shy and reserved, but now she just lights up the room!" he added.
"He's right Leonard. Sarah really came out of her shell." said Alfred. "Penny really had a positive influence on her." he added.
"Well, she grew up mostly without a mother so I guess she's just making up for lost time." said Leonard. "I know it eats her up every time we go to the park and she sees the other kids with their moms. She doesn't say it but I can always tell." Leonard added.
"Well at least now you have Penny to help you with your daughter." Alfred said.
"You can say that again. After all the things we've gone through, I'm just thankful that Penny stuck with me along the way." said Leonard.
They continued to talk until they decided to turn in and rest for the night. Leonard decided to sleep on the couch while Alfred slept in their bedroom while Wyatt took Sarah's room.
