Willy Wonka was in his Inventing Room working on some of his new inventions. Suddenly, Charlie burst into the room. "Hi, Willy!" he said cheerfully. Willy, who had been engrossed in checking on a new flavor of gobstopper, jumped about a mile, nearly falling in the gobstopper tank in the process!

"Charlie, you have to stop sneaking up on me like that! You almost made me contaminate my own gobstopper tank!" Willy exclaimed. Charlie just shook his head. He stopped by the Inventing Room every day after school to say hi to Willy, and every day he ended up startling Willy when he did so.

"So, got any new candy ideas?" Willy asked Charlie. In fact, Charlie usually DID have new candy ideas every day, but on that particular day, his mind was on something else. "Willy?" Charlie asked, suddenly looking very nervous. "Yeah?" said Willy. "I…um…" he stammered. "Charlie, what have I told you about mumbling?" said Willy.

Charlie took a deep breath and asked, "Willy, what do you think love is?" Willy looked surprised. "Charlie, you know what love is! You love your p-p-p- oh, you know, THEM, and they love you. You've even told me you love me like a brother," said Willy. "Willy, I mean the kind of love like how my parents love each other," said Charlie.

Willy was shocked, to say the very least. Why would Charlie be asking him, of all people, about THAT kind of love? "Why do you want to know, Charlie?" he asked. "I just do. I'm curious," said Charlie. Willy sighed. "Well, you see, Charlie, all of us have a chemical called Endorphins in our body," he said. Suddenly, Charlie remembered Willy's little speech from the tour. "They give you the feeling of being in love, right?" he asked.

Willy felt proud. His "hair" was learning fast! "Bingo!" said Willy. "Willy, I've noticed that my parents often kiss each other. Even my grandparents kiss each other sometimes. Why do people do that?" Charlie said to the Chocolatier (he was at the age where most boys find kissing disgusting).

Willy groaned. Did Charlie really have to mention that? "It's those crazy Endorphins. They cause us to completely lose our minds and do icky stuff like that," he said. "Um…Willy, my mom says that when people have babies, it's usually because they really love each other," said Charlie. "She's right, Charlie," said Willy, not liking where this was going.

"How do people have babies, anyway?" asked Charlie. "Well, Charlie, you see…When a mommy and daddy want a baby, they share a special kiss," said Willy. "A special kiss? Are you sure?" asked Charlie. Willy giggled. "Of course I'm sure! Now, if you don't mind, we need to get back to work! The candy isn't going to invent itself!" he said.
