Note: The official chapter one of this story, and thanks for the pouring support I got for the continuation story. Unlike some, I won't put an unrealistic expectation like -it must reach this so so threshold of follows and reviews if this story needs to continue- instead, I'm going to say that if you like it, review and follow. I'll try to keep up the quality of this story as best as it can be as it progresses. Enjoy.

As the brightness of the day struck across the skies the following morning, the Sanchez duo of Naruto and Rick were having breakfast but rather than have it in their house, the pair, on Rick's dictatorial-like decision, were having it in the house next door.

The Smith's house.

And as everyone else was enjoying the meal prepared, the 'patriarch' of the Smiths family, Jerry Smith, was idling away on a tablet until he decided he was done and dropped it next to his plate.

He spoke shortly there after.

"I see there's a new episode of that new singing show tonight." Jerry stated. "Who do you think is gonna be the best singer?"

His reply, however…

*!SLAM!*

…was the sound of a drowsy Morty Smith suddenly dropping face first onto the table.

"Oh my god his head is in his food…" Summer Smith replied with a disinterested tone; she was messing with her phone as she spoke. "I'm gonna puke."

"Morty, are you getting sick?" Beth Smith asked, concerned. "I told you not to practise-kiss the living room pillow; the dog sleeps on it."

"I wasn't kissing a pillow, mom. I just… I didn't get a lot of sleep last night." Morty groaned tiredly. "Maybe my dreams were just too loud or something."

"Or maybe," Naruto munched on a piece of egg as he spoke. "You watched so much porn last night, you barely had any time to sleep after jacaking off?"

"Ha!" Rick laughed, ignoring the look of disgust by Summer as an 'ewww' escaped from her lips. "Nice."

"None of that dad..." Beth scolded, before turning to her brother who was giving the embarrassed, and stuttering, Morty a teasing look. "And I'm sure there's a better time and place for that kind of talk, Naruto; it isn't welcome on this table, especially when we're eating."

"They're boys, Beth, let them have their fun." Jerry commented in a tone laced with boredom. "It's not hurting anyone, as far as I'm concerned."

"Not if it involves hurling insults at each other." Beth shot back, frowning at her husband. "Words can hurt people too, Jerry, and Morty needs all the confidence and support he can get, right dad?"

"I don't care if words hurt or don't, sweetie, I'll call it like I see it..." Rick states, finishing his meal. "And if you're not tough enough to grab the truth by the balls and twist it painfully, then that just shows us how much of a pussy you really are." he pointed his fork at his daughter. "Other than that, I give absolutely zero fucks about this small talk."

"Alright, Rick, I'll give." Jerry states, pushing his now empty plate away to lean on the table with his shoulders. "What do you want to talk about? Aside from whatever it is you're doing in your free time?"

"What I do is none of your business." Rick deadpanned. "But know that what I do is significantly more important than whatever it is you do..." he paused. "I forget, what was that again, Jerry?"

"Oh you know I work in an Advertisement company, Rick." Jerry defended. "Don't act as if that's something new."

"Raise your hand if you think what Jerry does is important." Rick looked around and saw that his 'son in law' was the only one who did so. Even Morty, shyly, looked away from his dad as he tiredly ate his meal. "No one? Then I rest my case."

"Really?" Jerry looked at his family with a frown. "Gee, thanks a lot guys; at least now I know this family has my back in case things go south."

"That's what you get for trying to rope us into your pointless conversation, don't be a bitch about it." Summer states with an eye roll. "And unlike you, we're not sheep *glances at Morty who's dozing off* well, most of us anyways."

"Not bad Sum-sum, you made this old man proud-" Rick pointed his fork at the redhead. "-almost, though; almost. Don't want that head of yours getting too big, now would we?" he got up from the table, walked up to his daughter, and grabbed her shoulder. "This was a good breakfast, Beth. You really made the crap out of those eggs... I wish your mother was here to eat them."

Rick gives Beth a kiss and walks away.

Beth tears up in happiness. "Oh, dad…" she mutters.

"Ease up sis, dad's just sucking up." Naruto warned, not wanting to see his older sister get hurt by their father. "And you of all people should know what usually follows after."

"Well, what if that's not the case this time?" However, the older blond refused to let go of the praise she got. She crossed her hands over her chest and looked away from her younger brother. "What if he really liked my cooking?"

"Look I'm not denying your cooking's not good, 'cause it is," Naruto clarified, "Is just that-" However, when he saw that Beth wasn't even listening to him, he shook his head, "You know what? Whatever, I've said my piece." He got up from the table and carried his plate with him. "Summer, Morty, I'll be waiting to pick you up for school. Meet me at my garage."

Summer shrugged, and Morty snored.

"Now wait a minute, I'm their father." Jerry protested, or tried to. "Which means it's my job to take them to school."

"Take Morty, then, if that makes you feel accomplished." Naruto shrugged and looked at his niece. "Sum?"

"I'll be out in a few."

With that, the spiky haired blond left.

Chapter One: Cold Open…

.

The daughter of the Smith family leaned her head back and sighed in relief as the breeze licked her face.

"I don't think I'll ever get over how Rick lets you have a car even though you're younger than me." the red headed female commented. "I wish my dad's more like yours; he's way more awesome than dad is."

"That is true." Naruto agreed, nodding. "But trust me, that's not something you want. Don't let how peachy life looks from the outside fool you as to how things really are."

"What," Summer raised her eyebrow. "Is he like an abusive parent, or something?"

"Abusive? Far from it." the blond states. "No, Dad's more, um… toxic… is the right way to put it, yeah; he's toxic, and that tends to affect some things in the house, but I don't really let that bother me 'cause I'm smart enough to counter it, unlike some."

"If that's the case why aren't you doing anything about it?" Summer wondered. "If it's because you won't have a place to stay in, I'm sure mom wouldn't mind you living with us." At this point, her look turned sultry and she started trailing a finger along the blonds thigh. "I certainly won't mind sharing a room with you."

"It's flattering to see that you'll break societal norms just to try and get in my pants," Naruto commented, side glancing at the redhead as her hand squeezed his crotch, and she slightly pulled the top of her tank top to reveal more of the cleavage of her perky, low c-cups, and a hint of pink. "And while I definitely won't mind sharing a room with you if I end up needing a place to spend the night, like I said, I can handle dad, so I doubt it'll ever come to that." he paused. "Not now, Summer, maybe when we get home."

Summer pouted. "Aww…"

Eventually, the pair reached the school and after Naruto parked the car, and after making sure they were in the clear, Summer gave Naruto a peck on the lips, whispered sweet things in his ear, and left the car to head for her homeroom.

Naruto leered at her large derriere as she left until a green flash of light pulled his attention away from the retreating redhead, and to a very familiar portal that his father - with a bored look on his face - walked out of.

"There you are, Naruto, that's good." Rick started, closing the portal behind him as he spoke. "Because I've got an errand to run in a whole different dimension and I need an extra pair of hands; you're just the right guy for the job, I suddenly decided."

"Job?" the blond wondered. "What Job?"

"You'll find out when we get there." Rick opened another one just as quickly as he closed the one he came through. "Come on."

"What?" Naruto blinked. He frowned seconds later. "Fuck no. I'm busy… find someone else to be your errand boy; or better yet, why don't you just make an errand boy? I'm pretty sure that's something within your wheelhouse."

Rick stared at his son with a narrowed eye gaze for what seemed like hours.

.

Naruto glared at his father.

"Y' know what? I think I'll make my own portal tech." he decided. "At least then I won't be forced to be stuck with you if you suddenly make me go to some place I don't feel like."

"Good luck getting the resources to make one." Rick burped. "And even if you do, I doubt it'll be any better than what I have."

"We'll see about that, old man..." the blond muttered as the plans for making his gun already formed in his head. "Believe it." and with that thought, Naruto shook his head and looked around as his father led him. "What is this place?"

"This is Dimension 35-C, and it's got the perfect climate conditions for a special type of tree called a Mega Tree..." Rick replied. "There's fruit in those trees, Naruto, and there's seeds in those fruits. I'm talking about Mega Seeds; the-they're incredibly powerful, and I need them to help me with my research, Naruto."

"Oh yeah?" Naruto crossed his hands over his chest. "What research? What research requires you to get seeds all the way from another dimension?"

"Important research, Naruto." Rick rolled his eyes, unamused. "You're going to have to learn to stop questioning me and do as I say because 9 times out of 10 what I tell you to do, I tell you to do it for a good reason."

"Uh-huh…" and disinterestedly, Naruto rolled his eyes. "Like I'm supposed to believe that."

Despite that disagreement, the blond still followed his father until they came to a stop at the edge of a cliff that looked over some oddly looking trees.

"You see what we just stumbled upon, Naruto?" Rick states, waving his hands over at the various trees. "Do you have any idea what's down there?"

"Is it the Mega Trees?" the said blond deadpanned.

"That's right, Naruto, the Mega Trees with the Mega Fruit on them and that's what I'm talking about, Naruto." Rick continued, ignoring the disinterested tone in the reply he got from his son. "And that's where my seeds are; if we'd have done what you wanted, I would have never found them, because you were so boring."

"Alright, alright." Naruto sighed. "So what's special about these seeds anyways?"

"You ask a lot of questions, Naruto, not very charismatic." Rick replied. "It makes you kind of an *burps* under- *burps* underfoot figure." He then gives the blond a pair of shoes that he brought with him. "Just take these shoes, Naruto. They're *burps* special grappling shoes.." Rick explained. He was putting on his own pair while doing so. "When you're wearing these babies, you can basically just walk on any surface you want, Naruto up, down, below, turn around to the left. These things really bring it all together."

"Yeah, I don't need that, dad." Naruto shoved the shoes back at his father and ran to the edge. "See you at the bottom!"

"What the, no!" Rick yelled as he rushed to the cliff, only to pause as he saw the smirking face of his son looking up at him while looking as if he was casually laying on an invisible bed that kept him where he was in the air; the old man twitched with annoyance. "Cocky little shit!"

Naruto grins as he gives the older scientist a double flipping off. "Love you too, dad!"

Eventually the two safely made it to the bottom of the mountain, with Naruto flying down, and Rick sliding down the mountain with his shoes; when Rick dropped to the ground, his son returned with the fruits he'd gone to pluck while the old man was taking his sweet time to get down.

"Half a dozen Mega Fruits ready for whatever crap you wanna use them for, pops." Naruto reported. "Can we go now?"

"Not yet, son." Rick stated. "Because *burp* because now we have another issue to deal with."

Naruto narrowed his eyes.

.

Minutes later, in what seemed like an airport that was filled with creatures of different shapes and sizes, an announcer spoke through a speaker.

"The glarp zone is for flarping and unglarping only."

Naruto and Rick walked through the bustling environment with an air of uninterest around them.

"Y' know something, dad? I don't buy that story about your portal gun." the blond stated, "Like, at all. Pretty sure we didn't need to come all the way here to go home; this kind of stuff's the thing that makes me wanna build my own portal gun more and more. What is this place, anyways?"

"Inter *burp* interdimensional customs. It's like an airport, only the planes are a poor copy of portal tech, and the passengers are aliens from all over the universe." Rick replied. "A very reluctant Plan B if things ever turn south with my preferred way to travel. Di-did you do th-the thing?"

"No, because there's no way in hell I'm putting anything up in my butthole, never mind six, extremely pointy, pine cone-looking seeds." Naruto raised a finger that stopped Rick from his protest. "Aand I have a better idea, one that I'm utilising right now."

"Let me guess," Rick scowled. "It has something to do with your powers."

"Yup!" Naruto grinned proudly. "I put the seeds in a ball and bent the light around it so that it can look invisible. After all, what's the point of having them if you don't abuse the fuck out it from time to time?"

"Um, how 'bout the fact that it'll make things less fun?" Rick countered. "Look at me for instance: I don't have any power and yet I'm the most feared, and respected, being in the entire universe."

"Your Genius is your quote-unquote power, dad, and you abuse the fuck out of it whenever you feel like." Naruto retorted. "It's what got you this far, after all, and if you can abuse your gift, why can't I?"

"Because things get boring and predictable." Rick sighed, brushing his spiky hair. "Look son, I'm not going to deny the appeal of having an awesome power, like moving things with your mind or turning invisible, but relying too much on that instead of your own physical strength severely limits your capabilities, and like I said, things will become predictable. That's part of the reason why I strive to be the opposite… because you wouldn't want to be on the bad side of being predictable, trust me."

Naruto paused as he mentally contemplated the words of his father and remained silent even as they eventually came up to a line that led to a detector of some kind.

It was being protected by an anthropomorphic, bug-like being armed with a blaster and despite the look of distress his father gave the bug with a gun, the Sanchez duo was able to go through without any issues and after the coordinates of their destination was given to the portal operator, the Sanchez pair walked up to a large, blue swirling portal.

"Not exactly impressed with the lack of chaos on this mission." Rick stated. "But all in all, I'd say you were… meh."

"Well, I say I did awesome." Naruto stopped. He looked at his father with a pair of narrowed eyes. "Unless you made up the whole thing with your portal gun running out of juice 'cause you were hoping to kill some of the bureaucratic robots here."

Rick didn't respond to that statement.

Instead, he jumped into the portal and after looking at the disappearing form of his father, Naruto rolled his eyes and leapt after the old man.

.

In front of the home of Rick and Naruto, a blue portal appears, and after Rick jumps out of it, landing in front of his garage, Naruto follows suit, landing behind him.

"Home Sweet Home." the blue-eyed blond cupped his hand to the sky and aimed it at his dad. Seconds later, the seeds appeared in an orange, transparent sphere of light the size of a beach ball. "And here are your ultra-important Mega Seeds; next time you want a mission to have a little chaos in it, go get Morty. Heck, with the experience, who knows? He just might unlock the Sanchez half of his brain. God knows that'll help him out with school more than the Smith part."

"Sorry Naruto, but the last thing we need is a confident, self-assured Morty…" Rick replied as he contained the gathered seeds in his own energy sphere; this, however, was made by a gun he pulled out from his coat. "I've seen what that leads to, and trust me, it's not a good thing."

"I think your definition of good, and bad, is different from mine." Naruto deadpanned. He shook his head. "Whatever; see you later dad." he paused. "Oh, and next time, try to kidnap me from whatever I'm doing at the time, I'll kick you so hard in the nuts you'll feel less of a man."

He took to the skies in flight, heading off to a seemingly random direction.

"There you are, dad, I need to talk to you about Morty."

And with a groan escaped from the lips of Rick Sanchez, we bring this chapter to a close.

.

Note: Okay, with that, the official Chapter One is done with. It focuses more on Naruto and Rick but that's because in this course of events, Rick has his own house which means that Jerry won't be able to complain about sending him to a retirement house, which would prompt his arrival to Beth's office and because Morty has been in school more in this version of the story, the principal didn't call his parents to complain to them about his lack of attendance. So that scene's a bust. And unlike Morty, Naruto was born with powers, so with that type of advantage, all the issues that he had with Rick in episode one will be avoided. Plus, he's smarter and more capable than Morty so even if he didn't have powers, he'd still be able to get the job done better than Morty.

.

.

.

Note II: This is just Chapter One so remember, not much will be revealed in terms of relationships, but as you can see, Rick's already showing more care for Naruto than for Morty and it's pretty obvious to guess as to why. Curious as to what else will be revealed in this story? Read to find out. Follow, like and review if you wish for me to continue on with this story.

.

.

PS: It's common courtesy to at least give credit to what inspired you to write a story, especially if it's another story with the same god damn premise! You know who you are. And the fact that the opening chapter of your version nearly mirrors mine is a huge give away as to what motivated you to write it. If I see that Chapter two of your version is a 90% rip off of this, then I'm reporting you.

.

PPS: Thanks to the good folks at Aizen the Goat's Discord server for helping me out with my work, especially my good friend, Mustard, who helped me by providing ideas as to where to take this story. Look forward to Chapter 3 prior to the end of the year, and once more, to show support for this work, review, follow, and fav it.

Peace.
