Chapter One

When I was younger people always made choices for me right down to what I had for dinner. I was never my own person I just let people wash over me easily. I didn't want to fight back.
I guess I just wanted life to be easy. I obeyed the rules and did my chores. I went to church on Sundays and went to school with no objections. Mum and dad would give me there famous shortbread biscuits after dinners on Sunday. Two if I were lucky. But I knew there was something missing. My first love. I asked dad if I could start dating but he started yelling about 'Sex' and how I was to young for it. I didn't even bother to explain that I hadn't even shared my first kiss let alone lose my virginally. I still sobbed that night. Mum came up and hugged me and explained that I was to young for boys. I was a little hurt by that comment I was fifteen and went to a girls school where I had to wear kilts and blouses in the summer and winter. It was even worse when boys came right up to the gate and wolf whistled, I wouldn't look twice at them but there was one boy I did like. He was always in my dreams with his friends, Sora and Kairi. They talked about building a raft and escaping from the island they were on, Destiny island that's what they called it. I would sigh every night thinking of how much freedom they had. They were like normal people, a bit wild sometimes but still very normal.

But last night everything changed. I didn't know what happened but I felt cold and the beach was no longer a place of freedom it was like a prison. I could hear cries and screams as I approached the three friends who were running. Kairi laughing as she ran behind the two boys. But something was odd I could feel it coming from all three of them. And then I was roughly pulled out of the world and into a dream. When I woke up I feared I would no longer see. Sora, Kairi or Riku but I was wrong.

I didn't think that night was going to be any different. It was dinner time but I couldn't be bothered to go down. I just sat there on my bed listening to some very old music. It was raining hard and suddenly a loud bang was heard and the lights went out. I sat there in the dark feeling slightly weird.

The door has opened

Suddenly the lights came back on and I fell back onto my bed.
"What was that!" I yelled as the lights went off again.

The door has opened, Sora!

I felt something grab onto my arm. "Get, get, get…"

Once we step through, we might not be able to come back.

I felt something grasp my neck and darkness began to eat at me.

We may never see our parents again. There's no turning back.

Tears flew down my face and I began to lose conciseness.

we can't let fear stop us!

My eyes wided and I screamed letting whatever the feeling was crawl into me.

I'm not afraid of the darkness!

But I am.

"Hey girl! Girl? Wake up!"

"Five more minutes mum." My eyes suddenly snapped open and I found myself gasping for breath.
"Hey your…?"

"…a keyblader"

"A keyblader" I gasped. I looked up at this stranger. She had green eyes and long brown hair with a pink ribbon tied into it. She wore a pink dress with a small red coat covering it. She smiled sweetly then helped me up.
"thank you." she smiled at me then turned around and walked away.
It was just then that I realised the large bronze key in my hand.
"Huh?"
