Disclaimer ~ I do not own Katekyo Hitman Reborn

Prompt: In the Hall Closet

Being a woman was hard. Being the only woman on a team of men was even harder. Luche didn't count. She was pregnant and didn't have to deal with half the shit Lal did. Most of the time Luche was away taking care of her famiglia, so Lal was left as the only female in a sea of sausages. However one of those sausages was a mystery, as she didn't actually know what Viper's gender was. For the sake of this argument though, Viper was thrown into the majority.

Anyway, Lal was irritated. When she woke up this morning there was blood on her sheets that she needed to clean. The cut on her leg had opened some point in the night and bled through the bandage. So first she had to deal with that issue. Then she had to go and wash her sheets, only to find that Reborn had all three washing machines going for his costumes. He said they were disguises but no, they were costumes. The world's greatest hitman had a cosplay fetish.

Lal left the sheets to be washed after Reborn was done. There was no telling how long that would take, so she went to hunt down some clean sheets. There was no point in leaving her bed bare when there were spare sheets somewhere in the mansion. She just had to find them first. The problem with this place being a mansion is that there was a lot of rooms and a lot of closets.

Lal must have checked seven different closets but still hasn't found one that contained the spare bedding. Three of the closets had cleaning supplies. Two of them were filled with towels, which while useful weren't what she was looking for. There was one closet filled with nothing but reams of paper. Every inch of that closet was packed full until it looked like a solid wall of paper. The last closet, which Lal actually liked the contents of, was a weapons storage. In this maze of a mansion, it was disguised as any other closet, but located in the center of the house. This made it so that if they were attacked, then there was a place for them to resupply quickly without having to go to the main armory.

But enough about that! Lal was reaching her limit. One more. She would check one more closet. If it wasn't the one she wanted then she was stealing from the nearest guest room.

Eureka! This one did have various bedding supplies. Pillows, blankets, pillow covers, and most importantly bedsheets. Honestly the only thing missing was the mattress.

'Not that it stopped Skull,' Lal thought with a smirk on her lips. Curled up among the pillows on the second from the top shelf was a head of bright purple hair. If Lal listened closely she could hear his soft snores, slightly muffled by the pillows.

All the irritation from today melted away at the sight. Asleep like this, Skull looked like a child. He was barely old enough to be considered an adult, and yet he was involved in the mafia of all things. He was forced into this world, and seeing him like this? Relaxed in a way Lal had never seen on him before when he was awake? It really put it in perspective for her.

Unable to help herself, Lal pulled out her phone and took a quick picture, capturing the moment. With that done, she quietly grabbed the sheets from the shelf underneath Skull, careful not to wake him. With her prize in hand, she closed the door to the closet and returned to her room. Skull would wake up soon enough, so there was no point to disturb him. She wasn't Reborn after all. Speaking of...Lal probably could have gotten him to wash her sheets if she had just offered to get him a coffee. Oh well. If she had done that then she wouldn't have that picture of Skull after all.

Bonus1: The next time Lal saw Skull, she asked if he had finally come out of the closet. This caused Fon to choke on his tea.

Bonus 2: The picture Lal took became Skull's contact photo on Lal's phone

Bonus 3: When Luche learned of the picture's existence, she gave Lal three rare guns for a copy. Lal would have given it to her for free but she wasn't complaining.

I wanted to wait until I had something new to add to this story before I posted the first chapter, which was the prologue. I wrote this in the slow periods at my theatre job, which at least gave me something to do. I'm going to try to keep busy there by writing when there's nothing else to do. Shockingly enough, working at a movie theatre is pretty easy.

I hope everyone enjoyed the chapter! I'll try to have something new for you all by tomorrow at the latest!
