1963Jack Twist and Ennis Del Mar come down off of Brokeback Mountain and go their separate ways. Jack heads to Lightning Flat to see his folks sporting a new shiner trying to forget Ennis Del Mar as best he can.
Ennis heads to Riverton and then to Texas trying to forget Jack Twist as best he can.
Jack marries his fiancée Alma Beers in a traditional wedding ceremony Ennis still very much on his mind.
1964
Jack and Alma's first child, a daughter, is born. They name her Lisa Ann after one of Jacks grandmothers.
1966
Jack and Alma's second child, a boy, is born. They name him James Allen after Alma's late father.
Jack and Alma move to Riverton so that James can be nearer to the doctor for his asthma treatments.
Ennis Del Mar meets and marries Lureen Newsome in a ceremony to which her parents are not invited.
1967
Ennis and Lureen have a daughter naming her Lureen jr.
Ennis sends a postcard to Jack and receives a reply.
Ennis shows up at Jack and Alma's for their four year reunion. Jack introduces Ennis as his cousin. Alma catches her husband and his 'cousin' underneath the stairs and thinks so, that's what's meant by the term 'kissin cousins'. Jack and Ennis start their few times a year trips into the mountains.
1975
Jack and Alma divorce. Jack moves back to Lightning Flat seeing his kids every other weekend. Alma slams Jack hard with child support.
1983
A few 'good ole boys' decide to teach the 'faggot' Del Mar a lesson and end up getting one of their own instead. Ennis and Lureen divorce after he finds out she was the one behind the 'lesson'. Ennis gets custody of Junior. Ennis and Junior move back to Wyoming.
