And here we are with Chapter 32. I promised more chapters this week and I intend to keep it that promise. There will be a lot happening in this chapter but I hope that you do enjoy how the chapter goes.

Chapter 32 Vs Dark Signers! A Hero is Born!
Friendship Cup Finals – Netherworld Highway
Rin was falling towards the ground fast. "Damn it!" Rin shouted and her bracelet glowed one more time to create a cushion of wind, allowing her to get back on track. However, she didn't get out without an injury as she started bleeding from her head.
"Tch, she survived…" Roget cursed.
Rin made it back to the pits. "Rin, are you okay?!" Crow ran to his little sister with Yuya and Rua behind him.
"I'm sorry…I can't continue." Rin panted as she took off her helmet and blood kept on coming down her head. "But at least I can leave you something." Rin took her Shinatsuhiko card and held it out to Rua along with their team sticker.
"Didn't I tell you? I make the rules." Roget spoke. "And when one Duel ends, the field is reset. All cards that remain on the field are banished!" The Shinatsuhiko card disappeared in Rin's hands.
"Hey, why can't you guys do something about this?! He's clearly cheating!" Sawatari shouted at Melissa.
"Th-There's nothing we can do. Roget has complete control of the Duel System, and he's locked all administrators out. What he says goes." Melissa sadly revealed.
"Hey, hurry up!" Everyone turned to see Demak on his D-Wheel. "I have twins to turn into corpses!" Rua glared at him with anger.
"Rua, can you hear me? Rua?"
"Ancient Fairy Twilight Dragon?" Rua heard the dragon.
"I'm glad that my voice was able to reach you. Listen, you must lose this match. This man is reason Ruka is the way she is." Ancient Fairy Twilight Dragon said.
"I know…I'll defeat and I'll save Ruka." Rua answered.
"How I wish it was that simple." Ancient Fairy sadly stated.
"What do you mean?" Rua asked.
"The only way to save Ruka is to defeat the Earthbound God in both the Human World and the Spirit World. Even if you defeat that Duelist before summoning the Earthbound God, it won't reverse the curse on Ruka." Ancient Fairy revealed.
"I see…I know what I have to do." Rua accepted his fate. Rua put on his helmet and tightened his shoulder and knee pads before getting on his D-Board. He placed the team sticker on his arm and prepared to take off.
"Rua, be careful." Asuka said with worry.
"That guy is serious about taking you out." Rio glared at Demak.
"Same here. I won't forgive him for what he did to Ruka and my parents!" Both Rua and Demak then exited their pits and headed to the highway.
"Now, the next match is about to begin between the Second Wheelers, Rua Godwin and Demak! Due to Roget's rules, the field is reset but the Speed Counters will remain what they were last turn!" Melissa informed the audience.
Rua looked at his Signer Mark. "Crimson Dragon…please…help me save my sister." Rua and Demak soon made it to the highway.
"So, you've come to die along with your sister?" Demak turned back.
"No, I'm here to save her!" Rua declared. "And save all of Neo Domino City, because that's what heroes do!"
"But not all of them have happy endings. Let's begin!"
"Duel!" Rua and Demak declared.
"My turn! Draw!" Rua drew his card.
Demak LP: 4000, Hand: 5, SC: 5→6
Rua LP: 4000, Hand: 6, SC: 3→4
"I summon Deformer Magnen U (DEF: 800, LV: 3) in Defense Position!" A magnet appeared on Rua's field. "Next, I activate the Speed Spell: Summon Speeder! When I have four or more Speed Counters, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower monster from my hand! I Special Summon Deformer Boardon (DEF: 1800, LV: 3) in Defense Position!" Rua summoned his skateboard.
"I set one card and end my turn!" Rua finished. "The only way to save Ruka is to defeat the Earthbound God that this guy possesses. As much as I want to go on the offense, this guy is an assassin and its suicide to attack head on. I have to be careful."
"My turn! Draw!" Demak drew his card.
Demak LP: 4000, Hand: 6, SC: 6→7
Rua LP: 4000, Hand: 2, SC: 4→5
"I summon Fighter's Ape (ATK: 1900, LV: 4)!" An ape wearing pants and a helmet appeared. "Battle! Fighter's Ape, attack Deformer Boardon!"
"That's not gonna work! Deformer Magnen U's effect activates! When it's in Defense Position, you cannot select any other target then Magnen U!" Rua shouted.
"Either way, your monster will be destroyed! Go, Ape Fighter!" Fighter's Ape changed his target to Magnen U and punched it.
"Deformer Boardon's effect! When it's in Defense Position, all other Deformer monsters cannot be destroyed in battle!" Magnen U remained on the field.
"A double defense…impressive. But in order to win you have to attack. I set one card and end my turn!" Demak finished his turn.
"If you want me to attack you got it! My turn! Draw!" Rua drew his card.
Demak LP: 4000, Hand: 4, SC: 7→8
Rua LP: 4000, Hand: 3, SC: 5→6
Rua looked at the card he drew. "Kuribon…" Kuribon appeared in spirit form next to Rua. "Kuribon, I have an important job for you. It's to help Ruka." The moment Rua said that Kuribon was more determined to do the job.
"There you go, that should do it." Crow tightened the bandage on Rin's head. "How does that feel."
"Better." Rin admitted. "But the damage is worse than when we fought Divine and Shinji. I hope Rua can endure it."
"He's fighting for his sister, Ruka. That's all he needs to overcome any obstacle that gets in his way." Yuya said.
"Kuri kuri!" Kuribon appeared in front of Yuya and Rin.
"Whoa?!" Yuya was surprised. "A Duel Monster?"
"That's Ruka's monster." Rin recognized Kuribon being a part of Ancient Fairy's group of Duel Monsters.
The marks on Yuya's and Rin's arms the glowed brighter, catching everyone by surprise and then in a flash of light, both of them disappeared.
"H-Hey, Yuya?! Rin!" Crow called out.
"What the hell just happened?!" Yuzu exclaimed. Who could blame her as her two best friends suddenly disappeared out of the blue.
Rua saw the flash of light from the distance. "Sorry, guys. But please understand." Rua faced Demak again.
"I summon Deformer Radion (ATK: 1000, LV: 4) in Attack Position!" Rua summoned his radio to the field. "When Radion is on the field, all Deformer monsters gain 800 Attack Points!"
Radion (ATK: 1000→1800)
Boardon (ATK: 500→1300)
Magnen U (ATK: 800→1600)
"Next, I switch Boardon to Attack Position!" Boardon switched modes and prepared to do battle.
Boardon (DEF: 1800→ATK: 1600)
"Boardon's Attack Position effect allows my Deformer monsters to attack directly! Battle! Boardon! Direct Attack!" Boardon charged past Fighter Ape and struck Demak hard.
Demak LP: 4000→2400
"Alright, he got the first hit!" Dennis cheered.
"Keep it up, Rua!" Serena shouted.
"Radion, it's your turn! Direct Attack!" Radion charged towards Demak.
"I activate my Trap Card: Drain Shield! This card negates your monster's attack and I regain Life Points equal to its Attack Points!" A barrier protected Demak from Radion's attack and he gained Life Points.
Demak LP: 2400→4200
"Oh, come on!" Sawatari growled.
"Now he has more Life Points than before." Aki got worried.
"You will have to do a better strategy to defeat me. But that's impossible, I've defeated Pros with more complicated combos than you could ever pull." Demak stated proudly.
"I end my turn." Rua finished.
"My turn! Draw!" Demak drew his card.
Demak LP: 4200, Hand: 5, SC: 8→9
Rua LP: 4000, Hand: 2, SC: 6→7
"I activate Netherworld Highway's effect! By removing 4 Speed Counter, you take 800 points of damage for every Magic Card in my hand! I have two, therefore, you take 1600 points of damage!" A dark flame shot out of Demak's D-Wheel and struck Rua. Rua then screamed in pain as the flames burned him.
Demak SC: 9→5
Rua LP: 4000→2400
"Rua!" Jonouchi, Asuka and Rio cried out.
Demak laughed as he heard Rua's screams. "This is power of the Dark Signers; the pain is beyond what you can imagination!"
Rua panted as he tried to recover from the strike. "This pain…is this what Rin experienced in her Duel. It's really painful, if my Life Points hit 0..." Rua then shook his head. "No, don't think about that. You can't afford to lose. You have to save Ruka and the city!"
"Oh, you can still fight. Well, it would be boring to win by default. I summon Magician's Ape (ATK: 800, LV: 3)!" Demak summoned an ape in magician's robes. "I activate Magician's Ape's effect! By discarding one card from my hand to the Graveyard, I can take control of one monster on the opponent's field! My target is Magen U!"
"No!" Rua cried as his monster switched sides.
"Battle! Fighter's Ape, attack Boardon!" Fighter's Ape charged towards Boardon.
"I activate my Trap Card: Deform! When a Deformer monster is targeted by an attack, that attack is negated and it switches battle position!" The trap negated the attack and Boardon switched back to Defense Position.
Boardon (ATK: 1600→DEF: 1800)
"I set one card and end my turn!" Demak finished his turn. "You can only rely on luck for so long. Sooner or later, you will fall."
"I will never fall…not until I achieve my goal." Rua panted.
Spirit World – Forest
Yuya woke up and he found himself in a forest. "Huh? What's this place?" Yuya looked around before he noticed something different about him. "Huh? My clothes." Yuya's clothes had changed into his Odd-Eyes Armor outfit. "Hello?!"
"Oh, good, you're awake." Yuya heard Rin's voice.
"Rin, you're here too? What's this place?" Yuya asked.
"This is the Spirit World. It's where Ruka fought with the Duel Spirits a few years ago. It's also where she's cursed to losing her life force." Rin answered as she poked her head out from behind a tree.
"Okay, so why are we here?" Yuya asked.
"Kuri kuri." Kuribon appeared in front of Yuya. "Please, you must help us."
"Whoa, I can hear you. Like I can hear Odd-Eyes and the others." Yuya was surprised.
"We need your help to save Ruka. She's almost out of time." Kuribon said.
"In that case, tell us everything on the way. Come on, Rin!" Yuya said.
"You…you go on ahead." Rin said shyly.
"Why what's wrong with you?" Yuya approached the tree.
"No, don't look at me!" Rin hid behind the tree.
"What is wrong with—" Yuya saw Rin and he was lost for words. Like him, Rin's clothes had changed. She was wearing silver armor but it was a bit revealing as it exposed her midriff and she was wearing very short shorts. She also had wings on the back of her armor and she wore a tiara as well. "Whoa…"
"This is embarrassing…" Rin tried to cover herself.
"Why? I think it makes you look cool." Yuya honestly stated. He then nervously rubbed the back of his head. "And either way, you're still beautiful."
"Yuya…you're making me blush." Rin blushed and smiled.
"If you are done be lovey dovey, can we get back to helping Ruka!" Kuribon threw a tantrum.
"Sheesh, someone's sassy." Yuya muttered.
"Argh!" Yuya and Rin heard Rua's scream.
"That's Rua!" Yuya recognized that scream.
"Don't worry about, Rua! He can handle anything. We need to focus on our own job. So, let's go!" Kuribon pushed both Yuya and Rin in the back.
"Okay, okay. We're going!" Rin wanted to calm the little furball but it kept pushing them.
Rua vs Demak
"My turn! Draw!" Rua drew his card.
Demak LP: 4200, Hand: 2, SC: 5→6
Rua LP: 2400, Hand: 3, SC: 7→8
"I activate the Speed Spell: Shift Down! By removing 6 Speed Counters, I can draw two cards!" Rua drew two more cards.
Rua SC: 8→2
Rua saw the cards. "Ruka…your monsters feel the same way I do. That's why we will win!" Rua grabbed Ruka's card. "I summon the Tuner Monster, Weed (ATK: 1200, LV: 2)!" A weed monster appeared on the field.
"I'm Tuning my Level 4 Radion and my Level 3 Boardon with my Level 2 Weed!" Weed turned into two green rings and Radion and Boardon flew through them and became seven stars.
"Gather your courage and turn it into an unbeatable power that can change the world! Synchro Summon! Appear! The embodiment of courage and justice! Level 9! Power Tool Braver Dragon (ATK: 2500, LV: 9)!" Rua summoned his evolved Power Tool to the field.
"Amazing! Rua managed to Synchro Summon a super strong monster!" Melissa commentated.
"I activate Power Tool Braver Dragon's effect! When this card is Special Summoned, I can equip 3 Equip Magics from my deck to this card!" Three cards popped out of Rua's Duel Disk.
"Since it's done via a monster effect, he doesn't have to pay Speed Counters to activate them." Demak muttered.
"Equip Magic: Break Draw! Rocket Pilder! And Life Extreme!" The three cards equipped themselves onto Braver Dragon.
"Battle, Power Tool Braver Dragon, attack Fighter's Ape!" Power Tool Braver Dragon charged. "At this moment, Life Extreme's effect activates! If the equipped monster attacks an opposing monster, that monster losses 1500 Attack Points!"
"What?!" Demak gasped.
Fighter's Ape (1900→400)
Power Tool Braver Dragon effortlessly defeated the fighting ape and Demak screamed as he took damage.
Demak LP: 4200→2100
"Due to Break Draw's effect, when the equipped monster destroys a monster in battle, I can draw one card!" Rua drew another card. "I set two cards and end my turn!"
"Alright, he took out a huge chunk of his Life Points!" Ruri smiled.
"Rua is definitely on top of his game!" Yuzu agreed.
"It's all for his little sister." Jonouchi said. "He's putting everything, including his life on the line to make sure that his little sister has a future. I understand exactly how he feels."
"That's right, you have a little sister too." Asuka recalled.
"Yeah, due to her condition, she was gonna lose her eyesight. I couldn't stand by and let her lose her light. That alone was enough for me to win multiple tournaments and use the prize money for her operation. Big brothers will do anything for the little sisters." Jonouchi grinned.
"Agreed." Rio smiled as she thought of Ryoga.
"And we help them out too." Asuka thought of Fubuki and promised to make Academia pay for what they did to him.
Shun watched from the distance and he looked at Ruri who stood beside him. Ruri felt her brother staring and she smiled at him and he smiled back. "I won't lose ever again. Next time, I'll defeat Kaiser."
Spirit World – Plains before Zeman's Castle
Kuribon led Yuya and Rin to a battle camp where multiple monsters were getting ready to battle.
"Prepare yourselves! He will definitely revive and when he does, it'll be our chance to save Ancient Fairy!" A white lion with orange mane gave out orders.
"Commander Regulus!" Kuribon approached the white lion. Regulus turned to the little fur monster and saw Yuya and Rin. He saw the marks on their arms, especially Rin's.
"Welcome, Signers, though I wish it was under better circumstances." Regulus bowed. "You must be Rin, Ancient Fairy told us about you, you're Ruka's successor." He then turned to Yuya. "I can sense them, the Four Heavenly Dragons that you wield."
Yuya's deck then glowed and Odd-Eyes, Dark Rebellion, Clear Wing and Starve Venom appeared. Almost all the monsters stopped what they were doing and they bowed to the four dragons.
"What's the situation, Regulus?" Dark Rebellion asked.
"That King Zeeman is preparing the final ritual so that his master, the Earthbound God can at last gain his full power. So, far we have been able to gather every available fighter to storm his castle, but unfortunately, we lost Ancient Fairy." Regulus lowered his head.
"It must've been when the Dark Signers took her card from Rua." Yuya recalled. "But knowing, Rua, he'll definitely get it back."
"I have no doubt that he will defeat the Earthbound God in the human world." Regulus said. "However, defeating it in the Spirit World is a different story all together. The Earthbound God managed to revive his servant Zeeman and granted him immortality with the power of darkness."
"Then we counter it with light." Rin showed her bracelet.
"I see. You plan to use this army to get Zeeman's attention while a small party infiltrates to save Ancient Fairy." Yuya realized.
"Everyone owes their lives to Ruka, it was thanks to her that we were able to work together and get a chance to save our home. Now it's our turn to save Ruka." Regulus said.
"So, how should we start our attack? Something big?" Odd-Eyes asked.
"If it's big, I know the perfect one." Yuya took out a single card.
Rua vs Demak
"My turn! Draw!" Demak drew his card.
Demak LP: 2100, Hand: 3, SC: 6→7
Rua LP: 2400, Hand: 2, SC: 2→3
"I summon the Dark Tuner Monster, Dark Ape (ATK: 0, LV: 2)!" Demak summoned another ape.
"Dark Tuner…" Rua glared.
"Next, I activate the Speed Spell: Tune Up 123! When I have 4 or more Speed Counters, I can roll a die and depending on what Level comes up, I can raise my monster's Level!" A dice appeared and rolled on the ground before landing on 4. "Four, therefore, I increase Magician's Ape's Level by 2!"
Magician's Ape (LV: 3→5)
"Next, I use a Speed Counter to activate the Magic Card: Dark Wave! This card allows me to multiply a monster's Level by negative 1! I choose Magician's Ape!"
Demak SC: 7→6
Magician's Ape (LV: 5→-5)
"I'm Dark Tuning my negative Level 5 with my Level 2 Dark Ape!" Dark Ape disappeared and it's two stars went into Magician's Ape and then 7 black stars started circling around each other.
"He born from the darkness, become the ruler who shall lead all things into the negative world! Dark Synchro! Appear! Demonic Monkey King Zeman (ATK: 2500, LV: -7)!" Zeman appeared on the field.
"That monster!" Rua recognized that monster, it was the one that Ruka defeated before she got cursed.
"When Demonic Monkey King Zeman attacks, you won't be able to activate Magic or Trap cards until the end of the Damage Step! And when Dark Ape is used as material for a Dark Synchro, I can draw one card." Demak drew another card.
"I use another Speed Counter to activate the Field Magic: Closer Forest!" Demak played a card and multiple forest trees came up around the city.
Demak SC: 6→5
"Thanks to this card, Demonic Monkey King Zeman has its Attack Points increased by 100 for every monster in my Graveyard! I have four, so it's Attack Points increased by 400!"
Zeman (ATK: 2500→2900)
"Battle! Demonic Monkey King Zeman, attack Power Tool Braver Dragon! Cursed Flare!" Zeeman fired a spell at Power Tool.
"Due to Rocket Pilder's effect, the equipped monster is not destroyed!" Power Tool countered the attack with its rocket.
"But damage still goes through!" Demak reminded and Rua got burned by the attack.
Rua LP: 2400→2000
"Sorry, Power Tool. Endure it." Rua apologized.
"I'm not done yet! I activate the Trap Card: Zeman's Judgement! When Zeman inflicts battle damage, the opponent takes 100 points of damage for every monster in my Graveyard! Take another 400 points of damage!" Zeman fired another blast and it hit Rua.
Rua LP: 2000→1600
"How pathetic." Demak insulted. "If your father saw you now, he would be very disappointed. He's probably rolling in his grave in disappointment right now."
"My dad…my dad had hope." Rua said. "That's why as his son I can't give up hope! I will defeat you! I will save Ruka and I will save this city! Because that's what heroes do!"
"I end my turn." Demak finished.
"My turn! Draw!" Rua drew his card.
Demak LP: 2100, Hand: 0, SC: 5→6
Rua LP: 1600, Hand: 3, SC: 3→4
"I activate Power Tool Braver Dragon's effect! Once per turn, I can send one Equip Magic equipped to this card to the Graveyard to change the battle position of one monster on the field! I send Break Draw to the Graveyard to switch Zeman to Defense Position!" Zeman was forced into Defense Position.
Zeman (DEF: 1800)
"At this moment, Life Extreme's effect activates! Once per turn, when a monster's battle position is changed, I can select one card on the field and destroy it! My target is of course, Zeman!" Power Tool Braver Dragon unleashed a gold aura towards Zeman.
"I activate the Continuous Trap: Minus Curse! This card becomes a Equip Card to Zeman and as long as he's equipped with this card, he can't be destroyed by card effects!" Demak countered.
"In that case, I activate the Speed Spell: High Speed Crush! When I have two or more Speed counters, I can destroy one card on my field and one card on the opponent's field! I destroy Life Extreme and the Field Magic: Closed Forest!" Life Extreme was destroyed and so was the entire forest. "With the forest gone, your monster's Attack Points return to normal!"
Zeman (ATK: 2900→2500)
"What's the point of all this? Zeman is in Defense Position?" Demak asked.
"This!" Rua showed Life Extreme. "When Life Extreme is sent from the Magic/Trap Zone to the Graveyard, I can release one Power Tool Synchro Monster on my field to Synchro Summon Life Resolution Dragon!" Rua's Signer Mark glowed.
Power Tool Braver Dragon glowed and its armor started to crack. "The echoing courage and power that resides in your heart! Unleash it to break through your armored prison and protect the planet! Synchro Summon! Appear! Guardian of the Crimson Dragon's servants! Life Resolution Dragon (ATK: 2900, LV: 8)!" Power Tool's armor shattered and appearing was Life Resolution Dragon who let out a mighty roar.
"That dragon!" Demak's eyes widened.
Spirit World – Zeeman's Castle
"Now my brethren! The time has come to revive our god! Bring out the sacrifice!" Zeman shouted and multiple monkeys brough in the glass casket that had Ruka in it.
"God! Please accept this offering!" Zeman raised his staff and Ruka started to glow purple as the darkness was about to take her. Zeman smiled at the chance of getting his revenge. It was finally here.
However, the ritual was interrupted by the entire castle shaking and a huge lightning bolt destroying the roof and knocking everyone down.
"Lord Zeman! Lord Zeman!" A monkey came crying.
"What is it?" Zeman started recovering.
"It's-it's-it's-it's." The monkey kept stuttering.
"For the love of God, boy! What is it?!" Zeman shouted.
"Osiris!" The monkey shouted loudly.
"What?!" Zeman screamed in fear. He ran outside the castle and sure enough Osiris was destroying his forts.
"Charge!" Zeman then saw Odd-Eyes, Clear Wing, Dark Rebellion and Starve Venom leading a bunch of monsters into battles and taking out his armies.
"Oh, come on! This is my chance! I've earned the right to win! How could it get any worse?!" Zeman shouted. The sound of monkeys crying in pain caught his attention and he saw Yuya, Rin and Regulus taking them out.
"You…stop getting in my way!" Zeman fired a spell at them.
"Odd-Eyes!" Yuya's armor changed and his skin turned into scales. "Pendulum Dragon Roar!" Yuya used his power that he unleashed in his last Duel with Reiji back in Standard. The two attacks clashed and canceled each other out.
"Then how about this!" Zeman unleashed dark spell.
Rin's bracelet glowed and she swung her arm and the wind was encased with light and it overpowered Zeman's spell and knocking him backwards.
"Yuya! Rin! I got her!" Regulus had Ruka on his back.
"No!" Zeman grumbled but Yuya and Rin cornered him.
"It's over, Zeman!" Rin declared.
"Well, you know what they say, if Plan A doesn't work." Zeman raised his staff. "Then go to Plan B!" Zeman then pointed his staff at himself and cursed himself.
"What?" Yuya gasped and the entire ground shook.
"My god! Take my soul as the final offering and be reborn with all of your power!" Zeman disappeared in purple light and shot towards the sky.
Rua vs Demak
"I activate Life Resolution Dragon's effect! When my Life Points are lower than my opponent's, I can increase this monster's Attack Points by the difference! The difference between our Life Points is 500, therefore, Life Resolution Dragon gains 500 Attack Points!"
Life Resolution Dragon (ATK: 2900→3400)
"Battle! Life Resolution Dragon, attack Zeman!" Life Resolution charged with the blade on its arm.
"Your moves were useless! Zeman is in Defense Position, therefore, I don't take damage!" Demak shouted.
"If Life Resolution Dragon attacks a monster in Defense Position, it deals piercing damage!" Rua revealed.
"What?!" Demak shouted.
"Go! Blade of Courage!" Life Resolution Dragon stabbed Zeman and destroyed it, making Demak take damage and losing control.
Demak LP: 2100→500
"Wohoo! He beat that ugly monkey!" Sawatari cheered.
"You're almost there, Rua!" Aki shouted.
"He's almost defeated." Rua thought. "If he wants to win, he has to bring out his Earthbound God, but it'll be weak because Yuya and Rin will have already defeated it." Rua was snapped out of his thought when he heard Demak chuckle. "What's so funny?"
"I must thank you for completing the ritual." Demak answered. "Thanks to your last move, my Earthbound God is now ready to be fully revived!"
"What?" Rua gasped.
"When Minus Curse is sent to the Graveyard, I'm allowed to set two monsters from my deck to the field!" Demak set two monsters.
"He's gonna summon another one of those Earthbound Gods." Shun narrowed his eyes.
"Geez, this guy is prepared for anything." Rio complained.
"I end my turn. At this moment, Life Revolution Dragon's effect ends, and its Attack Points return to normal." Rua finished.
Life Revolution Dragon (3400→2900)
"My turn! Draw!" Demak drew his card.
Demak LP: 500, Hand: 1, SC: 6→7

"I release both my monsters!" Both monsters soared into the sky and the giant heart appeared.
"Oh no, not again!" Melissa panicked and so did the audience.
"Do not worry, this Earthbound God doesn't need human souls! It needs the souls of the Duel Monsters!" Demak revealed. "Descend! Earthbound God Cusillu (ATK: 2800, LV: 10)!"
"Hey, my cards!"
"They're going blank!"
"What's going on?!"
Everyone who had Duel Monsters cards saw that their images were being blanked out and they were just plain white cards.
Spirit World – Zeman's Castle
The monkey geoglyph appeared in the sky. "That's Demak's mark!" Rin recognized it. They all heard screaming outside and they went out to see some of the Duel Monster spirits turning into souls and going towards the geoglyph.
"The Earthbound God is being summoned in the human world." Yuya said.
"And it'll be coming here! Get ready!" Regulus prepared himself as the glyph glowed brighter and soon enough, Earthbound God Cusillu appeared in the Spirit World. It's monkey appearance towering over everyone.
The Earthbound God pounded its chest and a groan from Ruka alerted everyone as she was starting to lose color. Rin went to her and put her fingers on her neck. "She's getting really cold. If we don't do something soon…"
"Osiris!" Yuya shouted. Osiris rammed himself into the Earthbound God and the two began to wrestle.
"I will not lose to a pathetic being of the Netherworld!" Osiris shouted.
"And I will not lose to the weakest of the gods and pathetic spirits!" Cusillu and Osiris kept fighting.
Rua vs Demak
Earthbound Cusillu towered over the entire city as it looked down towards Rua. "Let me tell you my Earthbound God's effects. This card can attack you directly and in addition, it cannot be affected by Magic or Trap effects!" Demak revealed.
"You should be thanking me. You will be reunited with your family." Demak grinned while Rua growled. "Battle! Earthbound Cusillu! Direct Attack!" Cusillu raised its fist in the air.
"If that hits, Rua will lose!" Rio got scared.
"Rua!" Jonouchi shouted.
"I use a Speed Counter to activate the Quick-Play Magic: Quick Summon! This allows me to summon one monster from my hand! Come! Deformer Lighton (DEF: 200, LV: 1) in Defense Position!" Rua summoned his flashlight.
Rua SC: 5→4
"Useless! Die!" Demak shouted. Cusillu struck Rua and he screamed as he was blown off the track.
Rua LP: 1600→0
"Oh no! Someone help him!" Melissa cried and the audience were all shocked as Rua was falling towards the ground fast.
"Rua!" Everyone cried.
Spirit World
Cusillu was pushed back. "We have him cornered! Keep going!" Odd-Eyes shouted.
"Charge!" Clear Wing shouted as all monsters continued attack Cusillu with either swords, magic or other special abilities.
"Argh!" A scream echoed all over.
"Rua!" Yuya looked up the sky and there was a portal that showed Rua being blown off the track by Cusillu.
"Oh no!" Rin covered her mouth.
"Rua…" Ruka muttered. "Rua…"
Rua vs Demak
Life Resolution Dragon flew fast and caught Rua in its hand. Lighton then hovered over Rua and the lights on its side started rotating between yellow and green. "What is this?" Demak asked.
"Lighton's effect…when I have 0 Life Points, a roulette happens… If the light lands on green… I gain 100 Life Points… but if it's yellow I lose…" Rua weakly stated as his body began to fade into darkness. The roulette kept spinning. Everyone watched with suspension.
"Please, land on green!" Yuzu prayed.
The light slowed down before it stopped fully on green. Lighton's light turned on and it flashed down on Rua, preventing the darkness from taking him.
Rua LP: 0→100
Life Stream took Rua back on the track, but Rua was still battered and bruised from the direct attack that his vision started to wane.
"So, you live for another turn. I activate Netherworld Highway's effect! By removing 7 Speed Counters, I draw one card!" Demak drew another card. "I set one card and end my turn!"
Demak SC: 7→0
"My turn…" Rua weakly reached for his deck.
"I activate my Continuous Trap: Cursed Prison!" Demak interrupted. "This card will Special Summon one Synchro Monster to my field, ignoring its summoning conditions, in Defense Position! I Special Summon this one!" Demak showed Ancient Fairy Twilight Dragon. "Appear, my prisoner Ancient Fairy Twilight Dragon (DEF: 3400, LV: 8)!" Ancient Fairy Twilight Dragon appeared in a cage wrapped in chains.
"Ancient Fairy…I promise…I'll save you…and Ruka…the world. Draw!" Rua drew his card.
Demak LP: 500, Hand: 0, SC: 0→1
Rua LP: 100, Hand: 2, SC: 4→5
"I activate the Speed Spell: Angel Baton! I draw two cards and then discard one." Rua drew two cards and then discarded one. "I set one card and end my turn."
"A pathetic display until the end. My turn! Draw!" Demak drew his card.
Demak LP: 500, Hand: 1, SC: 1→2
Rua LP: 100, Hand: 1, SC: 5→6
"Battle! Cusillu! Direct Attack!" Cusillu raised its fist once more and brought it down towards Rua.
"I activate the Trap Card: Ultimate Kuriboh Defense! This card allows me to Special Summon a Kuriboh monster from my hand by releasing one monster on my field and end the Battle Phase! I release Lighton! I Special Summon Kuribon (ATK: 300, LV: 1)!" Rua summoned Ruka's monster and Cusillu had to stop its attack.
"Still being lucky, huh? I end my turn!" Demak finished. "Just accept your fate and surrender! Why waste your time with someone so weak and pathetic!"
"You're wrong…Ruka is…strongest person I know." Rua said.
"What?" Demak questioned.
"For the past years, she fought to protect the Spirit World. She managed to bring Duel Monsters of all kinds together to save their world. She's done more than anyone in this city has ever achieved in their life! That's why, as her older brother…as her hero…I will not lose! This turn will contain all of my life! My turn!" The top card of Rua's deck glowed and so did his Signer Mark. "Draw!" Rua created a crimson arc.
Demak LP: 500, Hand: 1, SC: 2→3
Rua LP: 100, Hand: 1, SC: 6→7
"I summon the Tuner Monster, Crimson Angel (1200, LV: 3)!" Rua summoned an angel with crimson wings and hair. "I activate Crimson Angel's effect! Once per turn, I can select one monster on my field and treat is as a Tuner Monster! I choose Kuribon!"
"Burn heart, burn! Roar, soul roar! Even if it kills me, let me protect the people I love!" Rua was encased in crimson aura.
Jack stood up from his throne in surprise. "That's…"
"Burning Soul! I'm Double Tuning my Level 8 Life Stream Dragon with my Level 3 Crimson Angel and Level 1 Kuribon!" Rua shouted. Both Crimson Angel and Kuribon turned into crimson rings instead of green and Life Stream Dragon flew through them and his eight gold stars appeared.
"Double Tuning?!" Demak gasped
"The power to turn despair into hope! To create harmony in a dystopian era! Resonate with my heart and become a symbol for endless possibilities! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 12! The heroic champion of the Crimson Dragon, Scar Gold Nirvana Dragon (ATK: 4000, LV: 12)!" Appearing was a yellow and brown dragon dressed in gold armor and unleashing a rainbow light from its four wings.
The light shined all the way out of Neo Domino and beyond.
Spirit World
Scar Gold Nirvana Dragon's power entered the Spirit World and it hit Cusillu. "What? No, this power, no I can't go back! Not when I just revived!" Cusillu began disappearing as the spirits that were absorbed by it were coming back.
The light shined on the group back in Zeman's castle and color started coming back to Ruka's face and she started to wake up. "This…light…"
"Ruka!" Yuya, Rin and Regulus went to her as she sat up.
"I feel…so much better. How?" Ruka looked up at the sky and saw Scar Gold Nirvana Dragon and Rua. "Rua!"
"He never stopped fighting for you. You were giving him strength in order to perform this miracle." Regulus explained.
"No, this power is all Rua's." Ruka stated. "All I did was just believe that he could do it. Because he's my hero."
"Then let's go see him." Yuya held out his hand to Ruka and so did Rin. Ruka nodded and took their hands and the three of them disappeared.
Rua vs Demak
"But your dragon cannot attack thanks to Earthbound God Cusillu's Monster Effect!" Demak shouted. "And I know you won't destroy your sister's favorite monster! Your efforts are all for naught!"
"Is that so?" Rua smirked.
"What?" Demak gasped.
"Scar Gold Nirvana Dragon's effect activates! It negates the effects of all monsters on my opponent's field and lets me Special Summon one banished Synchro Monster!"
"Banished Synchro Monster?!" Demak gasped. "You can't mean!"
"That's right! This was a strategy that was used by Team Ragnarok! I Special Summon Rin's dragon, Supreme Queen Dragon – Shinatsuhiko (ATK: 3500, LV: 12)!" Rua brought back Rin's dragon.
"Amazing! Rua not only negated the Earthbound God's effect, but he successfully brought back his partner's strongest monster!" Melissa smiled.
"Damn it!" Demak cursed loudly.
"You may be a powerful Duelist, but you made one big mistake and that was messing with my family!" Scar Gold Nirvana Dragon unleashed gold aura. "This attack is for my dad, mom, grandpa and Ruka! Battle! Scar Gold Nirvana Dragon, attack Earthbound Cusillu! Nirvana's Hope!" Scar Gold Nirvana Dragon and Rua charged with full speed and Nirvana Dragon pierced right through Cusillu's chest as Rua grabbed the Ancient Fairy Twilight Dragon card from Demak's Duel Disk.
The Earthbound God exploded into pieces and Demak screamed as the destruction of the god caused his D-Wheel to catch on fire and explode.
Demak LP: 500→0
"It's over! Defeating the assassin Duelist is the new hero of Neo Domino City, Rua Godwin!" Melissa cheered.
"Alright!"
"Way to go, Rua!"
"You made your family proud!"
The light from the destruction of the Earthbound God went back to the cards of the Duelists and they were returned to normal.
"Thank goodness, Rua." Asuka smiled in relief.
"That's two down." Rio cheered.
"Wait, since Rua won…" Jonouchi remembered what happened after Rin won.
"STOP GETTING IN THE WAY OF MY PLANS!" Roget shouted as he pressed the bomb button and bombs started going off where Rua was.
Rua was really tired, the Duel used up almost all of his energy. He closed his eyes and prepared for the worst…
"RUA!"
Rua's eyes widened and he saw the entrance to the pit and standing there was Yuya, Rin and in a wheelchair…
"RUKA!" Rua shouted and he accelerated towards the explosions. He didn't flinch when the bombs almost destructed near him because that didn't matter. He had to get to the pits. The most important person in his life was there.
Rua roared as he made it back to the palace and he rode up the track wall and flipped over the remaining bombs before landing back at the pits.
"DAMN IT! WHY CAN'T YOU ALL JUST DIE!" Roget had officially lost his mind.
Rua quickly took off his helmet and got off his D-Board. "Ruka!" Rua ran to his sister.
"Rua!" Ruka smiled as her brother quickly pulled her into a hug and she hugged him back. "I knew you could do it. You're my hero after all."
"Well, I couldn't let my little sister down, could I?" Rua smiled; he was just happy that his sister was awake once more.
"What hero? You failed!" Roget appeared once more. "Did you forget that I'm in control of this Duel! The field will reset and your cards will be banished!"
"No, they're just going to the future." Rua smirked.
"What?" Roget questioned.
"Scar Gold Nirvana's Dragon's other effect activates! By banishing this card along with all Synchro Monsters on my field, they will be Special Summoned at the Standby Phase of Yuya's Standby Phase!" Rua revealed as both Scar Gold Nirvana and Shinatsuhiko disappeared.
"Whoa! Rua banished his monster and Rin's, but they will be Special Summoned to Yuya's field during his third turn!" Melissa commentated.
"A hero also has faith in his friends to carry on his wishes." Rua smiled. "I believe in Yuya! I'm putting my hope…my wishes…into my friend…" Rua took off the team sticker and held it to Yuya. "I leave the rest to you…"
"I won't let you down." Yuya took the sticker and Rua passed out.
Yuya went to his D-Wheel and put on his helmet. He placed the sticker on his arm. "Rin…Rua…you both fought your hardest! I promise to carry your wishes to save Neo Domino and defeat Roget!" Yuya glared at the other pit as Sergey smiled at him.
"No need to hold back, I'm going all out!" Yuya's left eye changed green and he unleashed darkness. Yuya sped onto the track with Sergey beside him.
"Sergey, kill him! Make it beautiful!" Roget ordered.
"Despite winning two Duels, Team Guardians are down to their last Wheeler! It's Yuya Sakaki vs Sergey Volkov! The winner of this Duel will win the Friendship Cup!" Melissa commentated.
