My silent promises run through my head,
Promises that I swear to keep,
But once I see your face, I forget,
Forget the promises I made,
Forget that we live in two different worlds,
Forget that you belong to someone else,
All that I know and all that I remember is
The feeling I get when I'm near you,
But then I remember,
I remember her,
And I would not feel so guilty had it been someone else,
But it's not,
And she's my friend,
So I do nothing and say nothing,
And try to smile and pretend,
And think maybe I just imagined them,
Just imagined the looks you gave me,
Or how you acted different around me,
Trying to tell myself
That I'm looking way to far into something that isn't there,
Nothing.
That's what I say when she asks me what's wrong,
That's what she knows,
And that's what I pretend to feel when I see you two, together.
