Song: Monster in me

Zera spun but didn't see anything. Then ice started forming on her tail and she looked up. Floating above everyone stood Jack Frost but he wasn't the Jack Frost of snowballs and fun times. His blue hoodie seemed to have lengthened into a long cloak that was made of frost spun fabric. Icicles hung from his staff making it far more menacing than the shepherd's crook it ordinarily resembled. The eyes that shone out of the darkened hood looked far more like burning white coals then the spheres of blue of the guardian of fun.
"Well Zera? Do you think that you'll have your cub long enough to have him grow into this so-called power grabbing leader?"
"Why don't you come down and see?" Zera challenged.
As the two of them squared off Sandy was pointing at Jack and running a series of symbols above his head so fast they were little more than a dust cloud.
"Calm down!" Jasper said as he walked towards the group of Shocked and disturbed guardians. "What you're seeing happens every year. Jokul Frosti will send zera packing."
The guardians processed what the groundhog had just told them and all breathed a sigh of relief. That being may look similar to Jack Frost but he wasn't their Jack. Jokul Frosti landed about 2 feet from zera and the lioness' pride created a fight circle around them.
Jokul smiled and chuckled, "it's as if they know that you're going to need backup."
"As always I will fight you alone." She growled at her pride: "I am his only opponent."
(1)The two of them circled each other the icicles on Jokul's staff seeming to grow longer and almost merged together creating some kind of blade. Zera's claws extended all her muscles tensed and ready to lash out.
Jokul started talking not necessarily challenging Zera but egging her on in away. The guardians listened as descriptions of bullying reached their ears. The robed figure spoke about how he was never hurt physically and yet the emotional and verbal pain he experienced started to build inside him. Every time he got back up brushed himself off and kept going. The building consequences however didn't go away they instead created something like another being altogether.
There apprehension returned when Jokul said: " I found the other me lurking underneath the stairs. Like another jackal that was hyding in the kicks and snares. A combination of my blood mixed with sweat and tears. Was the potion that release the anger from my deepest fears."
Now the spirits staff had become a scythe of ice and his cloak looked to be spreading a choking freeze on everything it touched. He stared the lioness down and now clearly challenged her. "So flip the switch and push my buttons for a deadly ride! Because I've been looking for a reason to release the beast inside! Come on if it's a fight you need, I'm all in, I am the nightmare when you dream. If you want to hear the sirens screaming well... Step up and meet the monster in me."
Zera launched and the fight was on. Claws met ice scythe and Cape brushed against Wiping tail. It was harsh and it was loud but most of all it was terrifying to watch. When they broke apart and started to circle again Jokul didn't even look like he had been in a fight he looked like he had just won a race.
Jokul continued to proclaim his position. Clearly stating that his kindness was anything but a weakness. How lies and deceit only made him angry. And how you did not want to cross him in just the right way. The moon shone brightly down upon the fighting circle and the spirit grinned even wider.
Zera started to mumble quietly, so quietly that if her mouth wasn't moving you wouldn't know she was talking. That only made Frosti point his scythe at her. "Don't talk behind my back if you can't say it to my face. Like mistakes in my past I can have you erased. Hurt the ones that I love I'll introduce you to pain." His smile returned as he deliberately advanced on the lioness while still continuing to circle her. "So crawl up in your bed and hide under your sheets. I'll be the terror that takes you when you slip off to sleep."
He made a come on sign with his hand toward her practically begging for her to lunge again. "Come on if it's a fight you need, I'm all in, I am the nightmare when you dream. If you want to hear the sirens screaming well... Step up and made the monster in me."
The lioness lunged and the battle was back on. This one lasted even less time than the last round. With Frosti holding Zera on her back while he stood on her chest her exposed belly at the mercy of his fluttering cloak and her neck held close to the ground by the icy scythe.
"All right all right!" Jokul let the lioness up but the scythe was still held out in a warning. The pride of lions began to stalk back towards the trees.
As the one on the stage went to pick up Kovu he was stopped by a warning shot of ice. "Leave the cub."
Zera growled but nodded and turned away. When the rest of the pride had entered the trees and disappeared into the shadows zera turned around. "You're lucky our agreement only lets us fight when you're in this form. Make no mistake this bad girl will come after you and I will win! Your power, all of your powers," she roared at the watching crowd. " Will be mine!"
"Leave Zera, you know threatening me won't get you anywhere!"
With that the lioness leader walked away. Jokul walked to the stage and cradled the cub in his arms.
After seeing how fierce and scary this being was the guardians were inclined to intervene in this but were stopped by Jasper. "He'd never heard that cub, seriously you don't trust your own friend?"
