"Fr.. Friend!? What do you mean?" Tooth asked ringing her hands.
"You said that is Jokul Frosti!" bunny accused.
"He is!" Jasper said putting his hands on his hips.
"You've heard of Jokul's legend right?" Chesh asked joining them.
"Yes," North nodded cautiously. "He's a Norse legend about the harshness of winter."
Chesh nodded. "Good, then I suppose you also heard of the rare instances where two spirits of similar legend merged together?"
Sandy nodded this time. He showed a Greek outfitted Being with a lightning bolt and a Roman outfitted being also holding a lightning bolt. He then brought the two images together until they became one being dressed kinda halfway between Roman and a Greek.
"Good example!" Jasper praised. "The Greek gods' legend's and the Roman gods' legend's were very similar. There were obvious differences of course, several of the Greek and Roman counterparts had completely different personalities. But eventually the two merged together creating two sides of the same coin you could say."
"What people don't know is that when the two spirits merged together it's actually a situation of giving shelter, because one is less well-known or less liked and therefore their legend is about to fade away. So the more well-known or more liked spirit can have the opportunity to offer the fading spirit a way to still exist." Chesh explained.
Sandy looked back at the figure of Jokul. Watching him hold the lion cub in his arms he saw the flicker of blue in the harsh white eyes. He showed an image of a Snowflake and the image of an icicle and merged them together then added a question mark.
The son of the Cheshire cat and the groundhog gave nods and smiles. "Jack offered Jokul this connection sometime towards the end of the American revolution. Except for in the great northern regions the Norse legends had basically faded to nothing. Jokul leaped at the chance, and ever since when Jack works in the regions of the Viking descendants Jokul takes over. But Jack is never gone. Jokul would never have really cared about that lion cub, but Jack dose. Being connected to Jack has given him a softer side and on Jack's half he's gained a more intense fighting instinct. That song you heard was both of them speaking together."
"But?" North questioned. "Jack is not in northern regions."
"You're right!" Tiffa skipped over. "Jokul also is associated with a scarier legend so when the scarier legendary spirits and myths have their time Jokul comes out to play."
"What about that whole thing with the lions?" Bunny pointed out.
"When the festival started happening and all of us gathered in one place it seemed like an opportunity to those lions. They showed up here and started making demands and threats so Jokul came out and invoked a battle agreement. Their leader Zera would fight him anytime that they were in the same area. And if Zera won She'd get Froti's strength, but if Jokul one Zera and her pride would have to leave."
"So Zera challenges Jokul every year?"
"And every time that she can find him outside of the festival. Of course since it was Jokul who made the battle agreement with her she's forced to wait for Frosti in order to take another whack at taking command. Not that that stops her from bending or outright breaking the battle agreement rules."
A whimper caught their attention at that point and everyone turned to see that Kovu was awake. The lion cub looked at Jokul and then looked around for the other lions. Seeing that he wasn't with the pride anymore he scrunched in on himself trying to be small as possible.
"Relax cub!" Jokul looked up and spotted a great Dane not far off. "Hey Scooby, want to show this kid that everything is alright."
The great Dane looked startled but took his cue. (Start Scooby Doo where are you intro) he put his paw to his mouth and gave a whistle. A colony of bats zipped out of their perches on the trees and started to surround the great Dane like a fog. When they cleared Scooby was gone.
"Scooby Doo where are you?" Someone called out.
"You got some work to do now." Another shouted.
"Scooby Doo where are you?" Sang a third voice.
"We need some help from you now." a fourth voice said.
The great Dane was found near the stage holding his paw as if it was hurting. "Come on Scooby Doo I see you pretending you have a sliver."
Scooby dropped the paw and stride to creep away. "You're not fooling me because I can see the way you shake and shiver."
The four voices moved closer to the stage as they seemed to scold the dog that they had a mystery they need to solve and Scooby Doo was an important part of it. Then they change their tune and said that if he came through on his part that he'd have a Scooby snack as a reward.
Four humans in 70s outfits complete with belt buckles, Ascots, and headbands placed comforting hands on the shivering great Dane. "Scooby Doo there you are. You ready and you willing? Because if we can count on you I know will catch that villain.
(Start the Scooby Doo show intro) Scooby gained confidence from his friends present and stood much taller. "We've gotten altogether for a brand-new show." The four people said.
Scooby took over the verse with his deep bark like voice. "Scooby Doo is here and then away we go."
The tallest of the four people scratched Scooby behind the ear as he sang: "while Scooby Doo is running from a spooky ghost, shaggy gets to doing what he does the most."
Scooby looked a little upset at the comment but laughed it off along with everyone else. One by one ghosts ghouls banshees and other monster type mythics started to jump out and startle the gang. But though they shook a little bit and gave Startled gasps they still hung around.
Shaggy hugged Scooby and shouted: "that's my pal!"
(Start a pup name Scooby Doo intro) the gang including Scooby started to snap their fingers and do a small two-step side dance. The blonde man in a white shirt and orange Ascot pointed out the crowd. "There's a mystery in town, so call the coolest pop around."
The three people and the dog jumped in with: "call Scooby a pup name Scooby Doo."
Each of the humans introduced themselves. The tall one in the green shirt was shaggy, the redhead in the purple and green dress was Daphne, the blonde man with a white shirt and orange ascot was Freddie, and the red skirted orange sweater dressed woman was Velma. And of course Scooby Doo introduced himself by pointing at his chest when his name was called.
The two girls took over for Freddie. "When the ghosts and ghouls attack, Scooby eats a Scooby snack!"
"Jinkies!" Velma cried with excitement.
Freddie started to lead the song again with: "so come on into mystery time. You can help us solve the crime!"
"With Scooby, a pup named Scooby. With Scooby a pup named Scooby Doo!" Scooby sang.
The entire crowd shouted out then: "Scooby Doo where are you?"
(Start what's new Scooby Doo intro)the gang then started to play air instruments. Scooby strummed an air guitar, Velma played the air drums, shaggy rocked with a base, while Daphne and Freddie pretended to hold microphones.
"What's new Scooby Doo? Were coming after you, we've got to solve that mystery. I see you Scooby Doo! The trail leads back to you. What's new Scooby Doo?"
Fred and Daphne change to playing instruments while shaggy and Velma pretended to have microphones.
"Don't look back you may find another clue! The Scooby snacks will be waiting here for you."
All five of them continued to play air instruments for-going the fake microphones as they sang: "Na, na, nana, na. Na, na, nana, na. Na, na, na, nana, na. Na, na, nana, na. Na, na, nana, an, what's new Scooby Doo?!"
"I can't take this anymore!" A female voice called from the crowd. Three girls dressed like witches and holding actual instruments came forward. "Let us show you how it's really done!"
(Start hex girls- what's new Scooby Doo intro) The drummer started in on the beat and the guitarists rocked right along with her."What's new Scooby Doo I'm coming after you. You're going to solve that mystery! I see you Scooby Doo, I'm coming after you. What's new Scooby Doo?"
Scooby, shaggy, Daphne, Velma, and Freddie were happily dancing to the rock band. As they one upped the gangs own song they had no qualms about it whatsoever.
However when the end of the song came on Scooby couldn't help but Howl: "Scooby-Doobie-doooooooooooooooooo!"
The rock band and the gang all bowed to the audience and Kovu was smiling a real smile.
