Song: Lions over all

There were gasps as the young spirits and mythics rushed to their parents. Kovu was left standing completely alone as he stared at Zera and Jokul. The lioness stood on Jokul's back pinning his arms with her front paws and his legs with her back paws.
Jokul didn't struggle but he turned his head to give a one eyebrow raised look at the snarling lion. "Seriously? I've never known you to be one for the dramatics."
Kovu looked confused, his experience with Zera was nothing if not dramatic.
"There is that pesky humor of your weaker self coming through. I don't understand why you settle for this partial life. You're like a lion! You could rule over Jack Frost and be so much more than this weakling lets you be."
"Jack Frost saved my life! And I must admit his humor is quite useful! In fact I find that it's downright frosty." Jokul let out his predatory laugh and zera snarled again.
Zera turned then to look at Kovu. "It is time for your next lesson my prince, come over and win your victory against Jokul! By doing so you will claim his power and we will rule over all!"
Kovu backed up shaking his head. "Mother, he was nice to me. He doesn't seem so bad, can't we just-"
"ENOUGH!"Zera's roar was loud enough to shake several of the branches of the surrounding forest.
Kovu shrank and curled up, tail tucked close to his paws and ears flat against his head.
That's when zera found herself literally bucked off of Jokul. The winter spirit had slowly but surely gotten his limbs into a position where he could quickly push himself off the ground. In doing so Zera, while completely focused on Kovu, now found herself flat on her back. But quickly she was back on her feet and just like before she and Jokul circled each other.
"Jokul, Kovu! Listen to me! We are better than any of them! It doesn't matter what form we may take we're all lions at heart! That, especially in times of disagreement, is whats really most important. (1) There is no greater power then to rule over the land! We have it inside us, it's here where we stand. You know that it's true, look close and you will find, ruling is What's destiny for our kind! So if we join together, we will never fall. Lions must rule forever! Lions over all!"
The circling stopped as Jokul and Kovu seem to listen to zera.
"No animal is more grand! That's why we should rule the land. We'll crush any resistance so enemies will keep there is distance, it should be lions, lions over all!"
Jokul stared zera down! "All you care about is power zera! I've been where you are. But you know what, I learned that what you describe has the opposite effect that you're looking for. In the end, all of my believers decided to let my legend fall to the wayside. And then, just when I was at my lowest I came across a young boy by the name of Jack Frost. He was corny, cheeky, had a big head, more than enough mischief to overflow the North Sea! And he offered me a way to preserve my legend and stay alive. We actually started out with me in control most of the time."
The guardians gave a gasp that was audible even from way back of the crowd but Jokul was completely focused on zera. "I felt his influence on me yet I pushed it back and then he got a bad rap! Even now after gaining believers in his true self, there are those who see Jack Frost as nothing but a monster of winter! It was only after I gave him control that things started to shift back into balance."
"Are you done with your sob story?" Zera yawned. "I'm not here to talk about your past Jokul I'm here to talk about your future!"
Jokul shook his head sadly. "If we do as you suggest we'd be evil and cruel! Using force and threats that is no way to rule! I know from experience."
"But if we join together we will never fall! We must rule forever, it's lions over all!"
The circling returned as Jokul turned his staff back into a synth.
"No animal is more grand!" Zera proclaimed.
"Staying noble is grand!" Jack countered.
"It's why we should rule the land!"
"We must protect the land!"
"We crush any resistance,"
"Friendship and kindness,"
"So enemies keep their distance!"
"Will always find us,"
The two merged for their final proclamation. Zera to hammer home that ruling was their destiny, Jokul to talk sense that the gentle way was better.
"Lions, lions over all!"
"If talking to you won't end this then we'll just go back to plan A!" Jokul said with a sarcastic shrug.
Zera pounced and landed on Jokul once again! But as she brought her teeth down towards his neck Kovu leapt in. His roar was less than intimidating but his accuracy was spot on. He head butted zera directly in the middle and knocked her off balance. When she was on the ground he grabbed onto her throat from below. His small size made him impossible for her to reach and if she moved his sharp little teeth squeezed titer on her windpipe.
"Vou vave vne vhance vo vurrender! Vou vnow v'll vo vt! Vou vre vhe von vho vrained ve vfter vll!" The muffled threat was nonetheless spine chilling.
Jokul walked over and placed a gentle hand on Kovu's back. "Let her go Kovu. Don't become like her!"
Kovu looked at Jokul for a minute then did as he was asked.
As soon as zera felt Kovu's teeth removed from her throat she crawled backward. "Your weak!"She scolded the cub but her voice had a shake that had nothing to do with anger.
Jokul's synth aimed at Zera who flinched backward. "You're beaten again zera! You come back again and I may not hold Kovu back!"
Zero took his advice and ran away with her tail between her legs.
The threat Kovu gave Zera was: "You have one chance to surrender! You know I'll do it! You are the one who trained me after all!"
