Jakul took the stage and nodded at the band giving them a hint at the song he wanted by subtle pointing out the lion cub and Manticore. They smiled and a smooth slow dance song filled the clearing. Corena let Kovu off her head and the young lion nervously looked at all the audience paring up.
"Um, what is…."
"A slow dance." Corena answered.
"I don't know how…."
The manticore came right up to him. "Just let the rhythm guide you and stay close to me."
If he wasn't covered in fur Kovu would have been red from nose to tail, but did as Corena told him.
Jokul put the mic right up to his mouth and began. (1) "When a vampire queen locks her thirsty eyes on a Pimpernel, and the music casts it's ghostly spell!"
Kovu and Corena criss-crossed and then slid around each other. The couples all around bobbed a bit then snapped their fingers to the sound of Castanets.
"It's like waving a blood red cape in front of a vampire bull! It's a feeling we all know so well!"
Those with capes on their outfits moved so they flowed through the air as lines of couples started to circle.
"I find that I am haunted by you! And you are haunted by me too!"
Kovu stared into Corena's eyes as they spun around each other, he didn't want this song to ever stop!
"It's a story as old as time. Vampire queens dig Pimpernels."
The couples walked backwards away from each other, then came together again. As the music faded away Kovu bowed to Corena and she did likewise.
Just had to put the cub on the spot! :)
