Corena didn't like what she smelled. After she had had a snack at a delicious meat pie vendors she had returned to where Kovu was going to wait for her and found the spot empty. Her nose told her that he had not walked away from the spot but instead simply stopped being there. She also picked up the scent of Jokul and a man, the man is what made the most uneasy. His scent was oily, like that of a dead fish mixed with something even fouler but she could not put a name to that something. She back tracked the man's sent to the forest and found he had come from under a rock, literally!

(1)"Something is not right, something is quite wrong, something is not right and so I sing this song. This night things should be calm, this night things should be still but something in the air has given me a chill." Corena spread her wings and soared above the trees. She scanned the fair and found Jokul's friends and the Guardians talking at the foot of a hill.

"In my heads a bell, a personal alarm. That warns me when someone I hold close has suffered pain or harm! I have an awful feeling, I can't say what or why. It could be I'm overthinking but I thought I heard a cry!"

She landed in a buffering barrage of wind and cried out to the group: "Something is not right, something is quite wrong, something is not write and so I sing this song."

The group looked shocked and instantly asked her what was wrong, but they all asked with different words and at the same time so it came out as a jumbled mess.

Frustrated Corena growled and shook her head as she waited to get a word in. "Everything was good, everything was fine! What is happening now to two friends of mine?"

Finally North shouted: "Quite my friends!" That Got the others to stop talking so North turned to Corena. "Please good manticore, tell us what is wrong!"

"I can't find Jokul or Kovu anywhere, their scents have vanished. I think they were caught in a trap."

"How can you be sure?" King asked.

"Because instead of leading anywhere their scents stop at a certain place. There is no water that could mask them from me and they didn't go into the air because I would be able to smell them on the wind."

"But this is a time of peace, isn't it?" Tooth asked.

"The regular fair goers all nodded.

"But that doesn't stop Zera." Chesh pointed out.

"Jokul trounced her, twice I might add. Would she still try and get an attack in?" Bunny wondered.

"I wouldn't put it past her, but it's not her scent I smell around the trap. I smelled a man, and he's dealing in some pretty dark stuff!" Corena told them.

"Lead the way!" Tiffa said.

Corena brought the group back to the spot she had last seen Kovu. (2) "Oh Dear, Oh Dear, Something is not right! Oh Dear, I fear a shiver, quiver kind of fright. There's something going wrong, so wrong that I suspect, Oh Dear, Oh Dear, Oh Dear, something is not correct!"

The Guardians, mythics, and legends all examined the area with their own abilities and started to become apprehensive as well.

"Oh Dear, Oh Dear, something is not good! Oh Dear, look here I do not like this feeling it's no good." Tooth pointed to the magic that was saturated into the grass. "There something going wrong! What is it? Qu'est-ce que c'est? Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Something is not okay!"

The group followed Corena to the rock where the man she smelled had entered the aria from. "We're searching hi, we're searching low, we've got to find you. Friends have vanished, where did they go. We'll search till we can find a clue."

Corena lifted the rock and saw nothing but ground underneath. But a sniff made her recoil back. "I should have realized, this is a danger to us all!"

"Vhat?" Asked North.

"This is the scent of the other side!"

Shock ran through everyone. But how!? Sandy's facial expression screamed.

"The man must have made a deal with them!"

Everyone spoke at once but this time it was the same thing that came from every mouth, or sand picture in Sandy's case. "Oh Dear, Oh Dear! Something is not right! It's clear our dear have vanished in the morning light! There's someone else involved, perhaps he is the one! Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! Something has to be done!"

They all rushed back to the fairground but came to a grinding halt when the saw something over the now empty stage.
