As Jokul chowed on the candy he started to gaze off into the distance.

"What you thinking about?" Jack asked in his head.

"Wondering if the Halloween crew will ever be able to chill like this the rest of the year?" Jokul replied.

"That's something I dream of and wish for. One of the reasons that when we started the festival we invited them. To give them a chance to chill and for others to get to know the real them outside of the bad reputations."

"Sure but have we made any progress?

"Are you kidding?!" When Jokul didn't answer Jack syed. "Go over to Davy Jones."

"Why?"

"Trust me!" Once Jokul was nearing the ocean legend Jack told him: "Ask Davy what his dream is."

Confused but intrigued Jokul decided to go with it. He tapped Davy Jones on the shoulder, being careful not to frost over his sopping wet Jacket. Davy turned from his conversation with a siren and smiled a pointed toothed greeting.

"Jokul, what can I do for you lad?"

"I was told to ask you what your dream is?"

Davy Jones looked shocked then stared at the winter spirit intently. (1) He leaned down so they were eye to eye. "My Dream! I'm malicious, mean, and scary, my sneer curdle dairy, but despite my evil look," He made a path to the stage and took Kam's place at the piano. Then Davy started to send the key's into a flurry of beautiful music. "I always yearned to be a constentenist!" He performed with practiced ease and his solo sparked others to step up and declare their dreams.

Something told Jokul that Jack had known this would become a thing and decided to see where it went. Though he doubted it would answer his question about the future.

A Gargoyle hopped onto the stage. "I've got clacks and chips and bruises," He opened his mouth wide to show off his leaky throat "Plusss ssssomthing heeeer thaaaaat ooooosssssessss. And let's not even mention my complexion!" He gestured to himself or more accurately his moss covered stone skin. He pointed out his seven clawed toes on each foot, the lump on his neck, and his pig like snout. But then he got dreamy eyed as he stared at a seder in the audience. "Can't you see me with a special little lady, rowing in a rowboat down the stream. Though I'm one disgusting blighter, I'm a lover not a fighter. Cause way down deep in side I got a dream!"

The seder smiled and batted her eyes. The Gargoyle's wings fluttered and he seemed to float on air as he made his way to her. "Though my face leaves people screaming there's and child behind it gleaming. Like everybody else I got a dream." The Seder kissed him and the Gargoyle fainted in love!

"I'm Toll, and I want to be a florist!" A bridge troll said.

"Names Gunther and I like interior design." A swamp beast added.

A weeping angel mimed being in a box. While a haunted suit of armor showed off his fresh baked cupcakes. Twin banshees demonstrated their knitting and sewing, one talent for each, at the same time as a crocodile-man performed a sock/stick puppet show. The most stunning however was when a Minotaur gently displayed his ceramic unicorn collection.

A monster bird squawked at everyone's display, earning him a few raised eyebrows and a glare or two.

"What about you? What's your dream?" Davy Jones challenged.

"What are you talking about?" The gargoyle asked just recently having come back from his faint. "That prehistoric reject doesn't have dreams!"

The monster bird took it as a challenge. He soared into a high tree and called down incredulously: "I have dreams like you, yes really! Just much less touchy-feely! They mainly happen somewhere warm and sunny. On cliff all of my own, baked red stone and open ground where pray all roam." He liked his beak, "Surrounded by meat and wild honey!"

Davy Jones picked up the tune again, then pointed to Jokul. "Your turn!"

Not wanting to be rude Jokul decided to voice his early thoughts. "I got a dream, I got a dream! I just want to see all of us happy and free! With no more bias rumors to cage us or fear to chain us. Like all of you I got a dream!"

Everyone cheered! The Phrase "I got a dream" coming from one mouth after another building to a shout. "Yes way down deep inside I got a dream!"

"Well said!" Davy Jones slapped Jokul on the back. "Your dream is well on the way to coming true! When we all started to get together I know that no one would have had the confidence to speak of their dreams. After all, let's face it, they don't exactly fit our legends and stories- except maybe the monster bird's."

The two looked at the pterodactyl like creature of Mexican legend. It turned its meat ripping beak 180 degrees, like an owl, and preened the sparse feathers on its shoulders. Then it lifted a horribly sharp claw to that beak and picked at a piece of bone caught on the edge. Blood red eyes all the while scanning the ground like everything was pray!

"Any way, what I'm trying to say is that this is just the start! We'll always be scary, that's what we are, but we are starting to be accepted for who we are outside of our legends and stories as well." With one more slap the sea captain walked back to the water pool.

Jokul smiled, happy that his previous thoughts were now calmed.

Demi Clayton: I like that song, any suggestions of a story to go with it?
