Mr. Brown was hurrying down the hall. It was his day for dismissal duty and he didn't want to be late. As he stepped outside, he saw Agent Booth and his partner standing next to an SUV, chatting as they were waiting for Parker. Mr. Brown seized the opportunity and walked up to them. He quickly explained what had happened in class that day and then asked, "Would it be possible for you and your partner to come to class tomorrow and talk about what the children saw? It would really help them to see that you are OK and to understand what they saw." Booth and Brennan glanced at each other before Booth replied, "Of course we can be there."
Just then, Parker stepped out of the building, saw them and started running toward them. "Dad! I'm glad you're OK." He started asking questions, a mile a minute. Booth and Brennan both smiled at him and they all turned to get in the SUV.
The next day, Mr. Brown was able to introduce Agent Booth and Dr. Brennan to the class. Agent Booth told the class, "We can't really talk about what happened yesterday because it is still an active investigation. However, we can try to answer some of your questions." The questions from these junior reporters came fast and furious. What happened? Was anybody hurt? How did you shoot the gun out of his hands so fast? How did you get to be an FBI agent? Both Booth and Brennan tried to answer as best they could until the students finally wound down and had no more questions to ask.
Mr. Brown was very appreciative of them spending their time with the class. "Thank you both for taking the time to talk to the class today. I'm sure we all are glad you were able to come." The entire class agreed with their teacher. As the bell rang, Mr. Brown reminded the students that it was a short day today and they were all free to go home. Booth, Brennan and Parker all left together, with Parker taking a moment to hug his dad. "Dad! Thanks for coming today. Thanks for not getting hurt yesterday. I love you." Booth and Brennan smiled at each other as they all got into the SUV to go home.
The End
A/N: I had always intend this to be a short vignette with different POVs. If you would like to take this idea and create your own story, please feel free to do so. I would love to read the imaginations of others. Thanks.
