From below, above, and all around humanoids with animal heads started walking towards the stage, with a particular stride and posture. Their left foot was always in front and they moved their hands in a serpentine striking manner.
(1) Gongs and maracas rang out in perfect time with their walk. The first to sing was the one with a hippo head. "Teweret." Jack provided her name.
"All the old paintings on the tombs, they do the sand dance don't you know."
Next the one with the crocodile head. "Sobek." King introduced.
"Gold crocodiles, oh way oh, they snap their teeth on your cigarette.
All of the Egyptian 'gods' called out together then. "Way oh, way oh, way oh, way. Walk like an Egyptian."
The walk was spreading, first with the kids and then growing in popularity from there.
"All the school kids so sick of books, when the buzzer rings, their walking like an Egyptian." The cat headed Bastet sang.
"All the kids in the marketplace say, way oh, way oh, way oh, way." The Ox headed Khnun added before:
"Walk like an Egyptian." Was called out by the whole group.
By now more than half of the crowd was doing the walk. Whistling along with the music.
Now all together the pharaoh of the Egyptian 'gods' Raw struck the pose and started directing everyone in the movements, his falcon beak calling piercing words like the bird he looked like. "Slide your feet up the street bend your back, Shift your arm then pull it back."
Now it was nearly impossible to find someone who wasn't: "Walking like an Egyptian.
Something sounding like rain resounded around the clearing, then it and the maracas and gong began to fade till all was quiet.
The Egyptian 'gods' stood proud and in regal control as they received their applause. Then they walked their way out the same ways they came in.
