"Boy, those guys sure are full of themselves! I mean come on I've done way more than them!"
The boisterous voice belonged to a large man with flowing black hair. He wore nothing but a grass skirt and a necklace of various animal teeth. The brown skin of his chest, shoulders, arms, back, and legs were covered in dark tattoos depicting many different scenarios, and at least one of them seemed to be alive or at least moving.
There were a few growns and some laughter at his comments.
"Hello Maui, good to see a fellow traveler of the sea." commodore B. Bedbug greeted.
"Hey there beetle, give me some 4." With a wave of his huge fish hook Maui transformed into a copy of the commodore and the two of them exchanged a complicated 'handshake' with their top 4 legs.
"Oh please!" The older bedbug from the commodores group complained. "The last thing we need is two narcissists."
"Narcissists? I believe you mean Crusaders and awesome story creators. I mean look at me." Maui flashed and became his human self again. "Look at all I've done." he indicated his tattoos where a small Maui was showing off the various scenes like a tour guide. (1) "So what I believe you are trying to say is 'Thank you.'"
The older bedbug gave a gasp. "Thank you!?"
"Your welcome." Before the angry older bedbug could reply Maui started dancing to the stage and the band picked up on his rhythm. "I see what's happening here, your face to face with greatness and it's strange." The little Maui flexed his muscles and bumped fists with the real Maui. "Open your eyes lets begin, yes it's really me, it's Maui breath it in." He swished his hair and did jumping jacks to show off every part of his physik. "Look you're staring at a demi-god!"
As Maui bragged about being the reason for the tide of the ocean, the sun, and even the sky, Tooth looked a bit put off. "Is he always like this?"
"Yep!" Said all of those within earshot of her question.
"When the nights got cold who stole fire from down below?" The tattoo on Maui's belly showed the little Maui stealing fire from Mahuika. "Your looking at him Yo. Also I harnessed the breeze, Your welcome, to fill your sails and shake your trees." The tattoo on Maui's right back shoulder showed Maui convincing the holder of the winds to release them from their gourd so that he could fly his kite. "So what can I say except you're welcome. For the islands I pulled from the sea." On his back, just about in the middle of his spine, the little Maui cast his huge fish hook tide with a rope into the sea from his perch on a sailboat and pulled up an island to stand tall and strong where only water had been before. "There's no need to pray, it's ok, your welcome. I guess it's just my way of being me."
"Cough, cough, egotistical! Cough!" joked Chesh, causing many to giggle and nod in agreement.
"I could go on and on, explain every natural phenomenon. The grass, the ground oh that was me just messing around. I killed an eel, I buried its guts, it sprouted a tree now you got coconuts." On Maui's right arm showed tattoo Maui fighting and killing Te Tuna, the great sea Eel, then burying the creature. In moments, from the hole the eel was buried in, a large palm tree grew.
"That makes no sense!" Bunny protested.
"It's claimed that the face on the coconut shell is the eel's." shrugged Jack in response."
Maui was showing off his tattoos with great pride. And the tapistry here on my skin is a map of the victories I win. Look where I've been, I make everything happen!" He flexed his arms and popped his pecks. "Look at mini Maui just a tippity Tap tap tap tapping." The little Maui performed a tap dance to the tapping on a coconut, courtesy of the real Maui, for a cheering tattoo crowd. "Well any way, let me say, you're welcome. For the wonderful world you know. Hey it's ok, it's ok, your welcome. And thank you!" With a dramatic bow Maui left the stage.
"That was...zomthing." North said.
Thanks everyone for reading!
All the information about the Maui legends came from Zalka Csenge VirĂ¡g'sblog, The multicolored diary. Thank you to her for the info.
Demi Clyaton: Thank you for the clarification on the song 'If only' from Descendants. Listening to the song I got an idea for another songfiction I plan to write from the Danny Phantom fandom. So here is my question: Which would you like more? Waiting till the other songfiction is out(after I finish the songfictions I have already started), having it in this songfiction(Party), or me writing the other songfiction right now?
