Chapter 13

The next morning…

I woke up refreshed and ready for the day. It was a sensation that I had not felt for a long time, or maybe I'd never even felt it before.

"Well," said Ash, yawning, "I guess we'd better head out today, from what Arceus said, Team Galactic could be getting stronger by the minute, and think of all the pokemon they might have captured already!"

"Calm down Ash," said Latios, "I know you're worried, but we can't just head straight off for them. We don't even know where they are yet."

"Oh, right," said Ash.

"How are we going to find them?" I asked.

"That's what we'll have to figure out." said Latios, "But before we do that, we should probably tell the others what we're going to do. After all, they don't know what happened last night."

"Right…" said Ash.

Later, at Lorenzo's house...

"You guys sleep well last night?" asked Lorenzo.

"Yeah," said Latias, "we slept fine."

"There is something that we need to tell you though," said Latios.

"What is it?" asked Bianca.

"Well you see," said Ash, "we kinda got a visit from Arceus last night…"

"Who's Arceus?" asked Misty.

"Would you believe that he's the god of Pokemon?" asked Ash.

"Knowing you, probably." said Misty, "So, what do you have to do this time?"

"How did she know?" I wondered.

"Apparently, me, Latios, Latias, and Michael have to stop this group called Team Galactic," replied Ash.

"Well, try not to die this time," said Brock. "and you might want to learn how to get food for youself knowing that huge appetite of yours."

"Hold on," said Bianca, "you guys are doing what?!"

"Don't worry Bianca," said Latias, "we'll be fine,"

"Wait," said Ash, "how ARE we going to get food?"

Everyone laughed. "Don't worry Ash," said Latios, "I'm sure we'll be able to find some berries along the way,"

"Well, I guess you have to go now huh?" said Lorenzo.

"Yes, we do," said Latios, "we'll come back as soon as we finish our mission,"

"Well," said Ash, "Misty, Brock, I guess this is goodbye,"

"It's ok Ash," said Brock, "we know you have to do what you have to do."

"Just be sure to take care of yourself," said Misty, "and don't die too much!"

"I'll try not to," replied Ash.

"What does she mean, 'don't die too much?'" I asked Ash.

"It's a long story," said Ash, "how about I tell you later?"

"Ok, sure," I said.

"Uh, Latios," said Ash when we got back to the garden, "is Altomare going to be safe without you two guarding it?"

"Don't worry Ash," said Latios, "the whole time we've been here, Altomare been threatened only once. Besides, the whole reason that it was threatened was because we were here. With me, Latias, and soul dew gone, nobody would have any reason to attack the city."

"Then why does Altomare need guardians?" asked Ash.

Latios hesitated, "To be honest, I have no idea, but it might have something to do with our father, who was the first Lati to save Altomare."

"I guess, if Arceus said it was fine to go, then it probably is," I said.

"Good point," said Latios.

"This is going to be fun!" said Latias, "Now we get to explore the world without worrying about Altomare!"

"Don't forget," said Latios, "we still need to defeat Team Galactic,"

"Yeah," replied Latias, "but after that, we can just focus on having fun!"

"I wonder which region Team Galactic is in," wondered Ash, "are they in Kanto or Johto? Or maybe they're in Hoenn…"

"You know there are more regions than just those," said Latios, "there is also Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, and the recently discovered Alola."

"Wow really?" asked Ash.

"Yep," said Latios.

"How are we going to find Team Galactic then?" I asked.

"Considering all the chaos they'll be causing, I don't think it will be too hard," replied Latios, "but even so, I think we should start searching as soon as possible,"

"Can we start now?" asked Ash, "All those poor Pokemon…"

"Yeah," said Latios, "but we should probably go back and grab those Z-rings first,"

"Right," said Ash, "speaking of that, I was wondering, Michael, how come you wanted me to catch you? I mean, I'm not complaining or anything…"

I thought about it for a moment, 'Why had I?' I knew that I knew why, but I just couldn't think of it. "I'm not sure," I replied, "but I know something made me want to do it…"

As we flew off to get the Z-rings, I kept thinking about the question. 'Why? There's got to be a reason…"
