The eclipse was in full force as Aang, Sokka, and Toph raced after the Fire Nation princess through the complex system of tunnels beneath the Caldera Volcano. Azula wasn't the enemy they had hoped to face on this day, the day of black sun. The plan was for the Avatar to face off with the Fire Lord and defeat him during the solar eclipse, eight solid minutes when firebenders would be rendered powerless, ending the war once and for all. However, it seemed all their planning had gone to waste. Azula had known about the invasion for months.
The day had already been trying enough as it was. Finding the secret underground bunker, winding their way through pillars of magma, flying over a river of lava, and eventually bursting through the metal doors to the throne room only to find Azula casually sitting there and the Fire Lord nowhere to be found, it was almost enough to make them want to give up altogether. Almost.
Naturally, Azula had a few surprises up her sleeve, namely two Dai Li agents she had brought with her from Ba Sing Se. The battle that followed was fierce, with pillars of rock, air blasts, earth walls, slices of wind, and nimble acrobatics all throughout the tunnels. Even without the use of her bending, Azula was a formidable opponent. But eventually, the trio was able to subdue the Dai Li agents and pursue the firebender without the help of her minions.
And so they chased her, sprinting as fast as their legs would carry them. That was until Sokka abruptly stopped running.
"Wait! Aang! Toph! Stop attacking!" he cried.
Everyone, including Azula, stopped in place.
"Don't you see what she's doing? She's just playing with us. She's not even trying to win this fight!"
"Not true," Azula responded facetiously. "I'm giving it my all."
Toph pointed angrily at her. "You're trying to keep us here and waste all our time!"
"Um, right, I think your friend just said that, genius. And since you can't see, I should tell you I'm rolling my eyes." She mockingly rolled her eyes.
"I'll roll your whole head!"
Sokka placed a hand on Toph's shoulder. "She's just baiting you again."
"Okay, so what do we do?" Aang asked. "Just ignore her?"
"We don't have a choice. We just have to get out of here and find the Fire Lord on our own somehow." Sokka turned his back toward the princess and started walking away from her, with Aang and Toph following behind him.
"It's a trap," Azula said coolly. "Don't say I didn't warn you."
Sokka waved her off dismissively. "Ignore!"
"So… Sokka's your name, right? My favorite prisoner used to mention you all the time."
Sokka turned back around, casting Azula a suspicious glance.
"She was convinced you were going to come rescue her. Of course, you never came, and she gave up on you."
Hot tears welled in Sokka's eyes and rolled down his cheeks. Snarling and growling, he charged at Azula in a blind rage.
She smirked. "Come and get it." In a swift motion, a dagger dropped out of her left sleeve and into her hand.
Toph, sensing this immediately, pinned Azula's hand to the tunnel wall with a rock aimed at her wrist.
Sokka pushed Azula flat up against the wall, staring at her with utter disdain, his face not even an inch away from hers. His palm dug into her chest. "Where. Is. Suki?!"
She matched his contemptuous glare.
Toph pinned Azula's other wrist to the wall.
"Where's Suki?!" Sokka demanded again, narrowing his eyes at her and gritting his teeth. "Answer me!" He was right in her face, ready to bite.
Smirking smugly, Azula remained quiet.
Aang placed a hand on Sokka's shoulder. "Sokka, she won't talk."
"Where are you keeping her?!" he shouted.
Her smirk widened.
Sokka took a step back from the firebender, his chest heaving with fury. "Aang, Toph, you two go after the Fire Lord. I'll take care of Azula."
Aang's eyes grew wide. "Sokka, that's crazy – "
"There isn't much time!"
"We're not gonna leave you alone with – "
"I can handle her!" Sokka insisted. "Just go!"
"Dad's all the way at the end of the hall, then down a secret stairway on the left," Azula sneered. "I'm sure he'd be more than happy to see you now."
Toph nodded at Aang and the two of them took off, leaving Sokka to deal with the defenseless princess.
Sokka took an offensive stance, wielding his sword.
"Really, Sokka?" she laughed. "You'd really attack me while I'm all vulnerable and bound to this wall?"
"You'd better believe it," he muttered, taking a deliberate step toward her. Pinning her to the wall once more with his forearm, he placed the blade of his sword on her neck.
She swallowed.
"Now start talking!"
"I must say, Sokka, I quite enjoy seeing this side of you. So savage, so merciless," she purred. "I always knew you were far more capable than your friends ever gave you credit."
"Enough!" He slowly slid the blade of his sword down her neck, settling it to rest right atop her jugular vein. "Tell me what I want to know, or else – "
"Or else what?" she challenged. "Last I checked, dead princesses can't talk."
He scowled, his breaths heavy with rage.
"And besides… why would I willingly tell you where your little girlfriend is when I could keep you here all for myself?"
Taken off-guard by her comment, he cocked an eyebrow. But her intentions soon became clear.
"Oh," she remarked, tilting her ear in response to an explosion in the distance. "Sounds like the firebending's back on." She suddenly kicked a fire blast in his direction, nearly striking him down before bursting through the rock binds on her wrists.
The next blast was aimed at Sokka's sword, which she sent flying away from him. He desperately scrambled after it, but it was too late. Azula cornered him against the opposite wall with a barrage of fire bullets and pounced on him like a lion-vulture about to tear into its prey.
His back lay propped up against the wall, the menacing firebending princess straddling his waist. Unarmed and out of ideas, he closed his eyes, seemingly accepting his fate.
She formed a fire dagger in her fist and held it to his throat.
His blue eyes flashed open, where he was met with the princess's ruthless gaze. "You won't do it," he whispered.
"And what makes you say that?"
"Because." He paused, softening his features. "You have a heart."
"You'd be foolish to assume such a thing. And here I thought you were supposed to be the smart one."
"I'm not assuming anything. I know you have a heart… because I've seen it."
She narrowed her eyes at him, her brow furrowing.
"When Aang burst through the doors, I saw it in your eyes. Relief."
Her lip twitched ever so slightly.
"You were happy to see him. Alive. Knowing that you didn't kill him after all."
"Stop this nonsense," she spat, her breaths shallow. "Appealing to my emotions isn't going to work." The flame of her blade grew stronger.
Sokka winced. "Are you sure?" he asked, leaning in closer to her, such that his lips lay a breath away from hers.
"What are you doing?"
"What do you want, princess?" he breathed against her lips with a hint of a smile. "Do you really want to kill me, or…" His eyes flickered to her mouth and then back up to hers. "…something else?"
"I…" she drawled, her voice breaking. "I…"
"Let me help you out with that." He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her closer toward him, capturing her lips with a heated kiss.
She instinctively quenched the flames in her hand and cupped his cheeks, kissing him ardently.
Tongues crashing, they kissed each other over and over as if their lives depended on it, mouths separating and reconnecting, finding their way back to each other again and again, the intensity growing hotter with every passing second. Making out right then and there beneath the volcano, their hands roamed and explored each other's bodies, groping, pawing, pulling each other's hair. They were needy. Desperate. Perhaps searching for an escape from all the chaos that surrounded them. Hips rolled and grinded against each other, their burdensome armor the only thing keeping them from taking things too far. Their armor and time, time which simultaneously stood still and moved too quickly. And sure enough, it didn't take long before their time had come to an end. Footsteps were approaching. It was either Aang and Toph coming back for their friend, or it was the Dai Li agents proceeding with their mission to protect the princess. Either way, time was up.
Azula pulled back, breathless. "You need to go."
"But – "
"Now," she urged, rolling off his lap and jumping onto her feet. "Or else you could be – "
"I know." He allowed her to help him up, looking into her eyes with so many questions, gently holding her hand.
"Go!"
He nodded and took off, feeling her fingertips slide off his own as he sprinted away.
Back in the privacy of her bedroom, Azula paced, her head spinning as she tried to comprehend everything that had happened that day. She thought she'd have everything all sorted out after a long, hot bath, but alas, she had no such luck. This was an unusual feeling for her indeed. She was normally so calm and collected. Generating lightning generally required an absence of emotions and peace of mind, and despite everything going on around her, she was always able to clear her head and conjure lightning when needed. But right now, she wouldn't even dare try.
It was all so stupid too. She should have been thinking about what her father told her after the failed invasion. She should have been thinking about her good-for-nothing brother confronting Ozai during the eclipse and abandoning their great nation to teach the Avatar how to firebend, the absurdity of it all. Zuko was such an idiot. And a traitor. And while admittedly she was hurt by his departure, after she had done everything to restore his honor in the eyes of their father and bring him home, Zuko wasn't the one occupying her mind.
It was Sokka. The Water Tribe peasant. What a twisted world indeed. She should have been above this! She was the princess of the Fire Nation, one of the best firebenders to ever grace this earth, and yet here she was, unable to sleep because she was thinking about a boy. Had she really grown soft for him? It was pathetic. She was ashamed of herself. Getting wrapped up in these thoughts like your average schoolgirl at the Royal Fire Academy. Tch.
It was pointless too. Not only did Sokka have a girlfriend – who she currently had imprisoned at the Boiling Rock – but in all likelihood he was just manipulating her. She saw the look in his eyes. So contemptuous. So feral. He despised her. He contemplated killing her. And when the tables turned and she had the upper hand, he acted in desperation. "You have a heart," she repeated in her head. Did he really mean that? Did he get anything out of kissing her at all?! Or was he just afraid for his life?
It wasn't fair. It just wasn't fair. She was obsessing over him, overanalyzing every little detail, trying to get answers to questions that were impossible to obtain, and he probably wasn't even thinking about her at all. If an insipid, vapid man like Chan could kiss her and run away, there was no way Sokka paid her any mind at all. It was her curse and her curse alone. It must have been a cruel punishment for her weakness that every single time she closed her eyes, all she saw was Sokka. His ocean blue eyes. His mouth, oh his mouth. His mouth that had claimed her own not too long ago. The feeling of his rough hands on her body, touching her like no man had ever touched her before. And she wanted him to touch her. She wanted him to touch her right between her…
Her heart was racing just thinking about it. Well of course she couldn't sleep! Not when she was having these unsavory thoughts. That was it. She had to purge him from her system once and for all. And she knew exactly how to do it. She got into bed and crawled beneath the satin sheets, rolling onto her stomach. From there, she closed her eyes and let her imagination run wild.
The peak of the eclipse. Sokka pinning her to the wall. She struggles to break free, weakened from the lack of sun, unable to bend. She's completely at Sokka's mercy. But Sokka is not a merciful man. No. Sokka is out for blood.
Mm, she slipped a hand inside her underwear, rubbing herself slowly in small circles as her thoughts continued to play out.
"Tell me where she is, or I'll kill you right where you stand!"
"I'll never talk. You're wasting your time."
"Oh, you'll talk. I'll make you talk." He forcefully pinches her cheeks together in his unforgiving hand.
"What are you going to do to me?"
"Anything I want." His eyes darken as lips curl into a cruel smile. He glares at her for a moment before forcing her mouth up for a rough kiss. There's no kindness behind the kiss. Only anger.
"You savage!" She tries to pull away from him, turning her head to the side. "You'll never get away with this."
He presses her cheek to the wall and licks her neck all the way from her collarbone to under her jaw.
Thrusting her hips against her hand, she shuddered with pleasure just thinking about his wet tongue on her neck.
He bites and sucks on her neck like a vampire viper-bat; she knows she'll struggle to hide the marks later. If she makes it out of there alive.
"Think you'll talk now?" He smirks diabolically at her.
"You'll have to try harder than that."
"Oh, I fully intend to." He captures her neck with his greedy mouth once more, kneading his tongue in the crook, as if he were licking somewhere else, somewhere far more forbidden. He paws at her chest, squeezing her over her armor.
She moans instinctively.
His tongue, his lips, his mouth… all unyielding as they assault her delicate skin.
Enveloped in the fantasy, she rubbed herself faster and faster, rocking her hips against her desperate wriggling fingers.
"I'm starting to think you're enjoying yourself, princess."
"I could say the same for you, peasant."
"You know what I would enjoy?" He pauses. "Hearing you beg for more." Grinning sadistically, he yanks her pants down, letting them hang by her boots.
She gasps. "You wouldn't dare."
"Don't test me." His mouth is back on her neck and his hand slides unapologetically into her underwear.
"I'll scream. You'll be a dead man."
"Yes, you will scream. I'll be sure of that." His fingers start rubbing her clit, slowly and teasingly at first, and gradually building speed and tension.
Her body writhes against the binds on her wrists.
Her hips crashed repeatedly against the mattress as she brought herself closer and closer to her sweet release, her breaths strained and shallow. If only her fingers could be his fingers…
Without warning, he shoves two fingers up inside of her.
"Ngh!" she cries out.
Slipping his fingers in and out of her, he begins vibrating his palm against her clit.
She slipped two fingers deep inside. She was dripping wet. Her legs began to shake as she thrust her fingers in and out of her over and over again.
"So wet, Azula. You must really be liking this. Who would have guessed the mighty Fire Nation princess could be undone so easily by a mere Water Tribe peasant."
"Shut up."
"Tell me where she is!" Without easing up with his fingers, he slams the wall next to her head with his other hand.
"Never!"
"Am I going to have to fuck the information out of you? Am I going to have to make you beg for my cock?"
"I w-won't, I'll never – "
Her body rose and seized against the mattress as she came hard all over her fingers. She left them there, curling them slowly, feeling her wet walls pulse around them. Her breaths shot out in short, erratic bursts. Spirits, she couldn't even make it to him fucking her in her own fantasy without coming. Fortunately, she still had at least one more in her. So she collected her breaths and started again, picking up right where she left off.
To be continued on Week 7: I am your punishment, but you are mine too…
