Prolouge

12 Grimmauld Place, May First 1999

Every night Harry's dreams were plagued by one memory. Harry watched as Ron left, unknowingly dragging Hermione with him. Harry knew he should've gone after them, but he couldn't drag himself up there to do it. Harry wondered why he didn't do it sometimes. After that he immediately went to Grimmauld, never to emerge again. He had practiced the dark arts, as Phineas Nigellus had bugged him to. Harry always wondered what would've happened if he had delved deeper in to the dark arts. Would he be a death eater? Or would he be dead? Would he still be fighting for the light? Or would he be fighting for a different side?

Grimmauld Place, May Third 1999

Harry woke up to a startling silence, though the silence gave Harry more headaches than Ron and Hermione's constant bickering. Fear plagued Harry as he read the Muggle newspaper, which depicted the gory death of the Prime Minister. Detectives were either dying or getting seriously injured when close to the sighting. It also showed the CEO of Microsoft, a Muggle called Bill Gates, had his house burn down. After eating a rather bland breakfast, which consisted of a poached egg, toast, and two pieces of turkey bacon, Harry went in to the living room for his monthly cleaning.
