For a few days, Kensi had been receiving threatening postcards from David Kessler. The team had moved her and Deeks to a safehouse, but the postcards were coming directly to the office. The postcards usually had a picture of Kensi and Deeks, or Kensi alone, or the Mission, but one day, a different picture came in. The picture was of Julia's house. Kensi and Deeks both froze in terror.

"We have to get both of our moms to a safehouse. We don't know what the hell he'd do to them," Deeks whispered. Kensi nodded a little, but Deeks had already walked out. Soon, they had both Julia and Roberta at a safehouse.

"Marty, what's going on?" Julia asked. Deeks closed his eyes and tried to figure out how to brief them without causing panic.

"Look. Years ago, before I met her, Kens arrested a known rapist. Um, he recently got out and began threatening Kensi. It's under control, but we wanted to bring you guys here out of an abundance of caution. Um, we'll have agents here keeping watch before I leave. Look, I don't want you to panic, okay?" Deeks said, as calmly as he could.

"Well, what does he look like? And what does he want to do to my baby girl?" Julia asked.

"Yeah, we should know. And what do you think he wants to do, Julia? Marty already said he's a rapist," Roberta replied. Deeks closed his eyes as Julia realized how serious the situation was.

"Okay. You're right. You should know what he looks like. Um, here," Deeks said, pulling up a picture on his phone.

"No, no. You've got it wrong, he's a good guy," Julia said immediately. Kensi and Deeks looked up in unison.

"What do you mean? You know this guy? What did he say his name is?" Kensi asked.

"That's my boyfriend, David. He's a sweet guy. He even wants to meet Kensi. You have it wrong," Julia said.
