/Blah/ Kyuubi talking to Naruto through their mind link.

Sasuke knew Naruto fucking hated him! He waited five days and still no sign of the boisterous blonde. There had been measures taken above and beyond to avoid him. When Naruto threw up on his sandal-clad feet. Sasuke could only speculate if it was from illness or if it was some deep seeded hatred for him.

He thought he had made some breakthroughs however, the fact that Naruto was deliberately avoiding him made him feel unclear about everything that happened. What also made him feel lousier was that Naruto flat-out refused to leave his childhood home or his bedroom for that matter.

So, it only made sense that Sasuke believed Naruto hated him. Not even he was expecting the kiss it was a moment of weakness. The Uchiha-heir sighed; he was back to square one. He only had one day for the Spring festival.

Peered at the leather-bound book clutched between his pale digits. He needed to return it, feeling a sense of dread he raised his fist to knock on his sensei's apartment door but hesitated what if he missed something? Just then the apartment door opened, and Sasuke quickly hid the book behind his back. Kakashi hiked a silver brow at the raven.

"What seems to bring you in my good graces?" His voice was brimming with amusement.

"Nothing nevermind." His voice resonated with an urgency that peeked at Kakashi's interest.

"What's that," asked Kakashi, but Sasuke was unable to flee as his sensei grabbed the book from his back as soon as he tried to turn and flee.

"Planning on returning this?" He teased.

"Yeah, but not now, I need to do more research." He crossed his arms as Kakashi dangled the book in front of his student teasingly.

"More research you say? I'm pretty sure you have the basics by now."

Five days ago, he might have thought the same thing.

"I kiss Naruto and he threw up." Of course, Hatake should have seen that coming. He should have let his student leave... But no, he just had to go poke the hornet's nest.

"He probably ate too much." Kakashi tried reassuring that young inquisitive mind.

"At first, I thought the same, but he's been avoiding me." His arms dropped in defeat.

"Oh..." Hatake had scratched at his long spiky sterling locks in thought.

"I doubt one lousy kiss would make him avoid you..." He could have worded that better... internally he shrugged it was already said.

"You're right I don't see how one kiss could cross the line." They did much worse, but when he thought about it actions spoke louder than words it was probably for the best anyway. His onyx brows come together to form a crease.

"Here," Hatake handed him the book snapping him out of his angst.

"I don't see how you need any more research..." He wanted to pry but opted not to. He had enough nightmares to last him a lifetime.

"I must have missed something."

"Word of advice how about you do what's from the heart, see ya." He placed two fingers in a salute and with that, he sauntered past his student.

"How do you do it?"

"Huh?" Kakashi paused mid-step taking the bait.

"How do you and Iruka... You know." He trailed off.

"It's never easy relationships take a lot of hard work, and there's no secret book that has the answers to all your questions." He continued his stroll but not before giving his student an encouraging pat on his right shoulder. Teenagers, he chuckled to himself, but his mood turned serious he could only hope Sasuke would not rely on that book for relationship advice. He was worried his student would take that part about wooing with a grain of salt. He'd hoped Sasuke only used the physical aspect of the book to be his guide and nothing more. In a split decision, Kakashi walked right past the bar he frequented and continued his trek to Uzumaki's home to check on the tenacious blonde.

As it happened again the contents of his stomach unwillingly left his lips. He felt himself silently cursing not again. Naruto watched just as Sasuke's upper lip hooked in disgust, while he looked between their feet, just then the blond started to dry heave. Naruto subconsciously covered his mouth with his hands, as not a word was said.

I blew it! He ran. The blond said nothing as he pushed past both his maids and midwife slamming his bedroom door behind him and locking it. As he stared at his feet, he was repulsed. He felt a mixture of everything, all at once, and it didn't help that he had a throbbing headache.

The kiss was not expected but it was welcomed as he reminisced on the whole thing, his heart picking up speed at the thought that was different from the accidental kiss they shared those years back. The movement and the heat, at the time he felt lightheaded as their mouth melded together, and here he remained in his bedroom moping about and missing a few meals. His maids had given up on knocking and just left his meals by his bedroom door. I shouldn't have eaten all that ramen. He quietly berated himself.

/ You ready to listen now? /

He cupped both his ears as if that would stifle out his grandfather's words. What did he want now? More good news he wagered.

/What now Ojiisan/ He sighed visibly pouting of course he had to throw up anything else would have been too easy.

/I'm sorry your night was ruined little one, but we have a much serious matter at hand/

/ And what's that? / Now he was worried the grim tone in his grandfather's voice was enough to worry him.

/I'm afraid you're-/ There was a knock on his bedroom door. Who the hell is it now?

"Hey, thought I would swing by and check up on you."

His ears perked as he knew that muffled voice. "Kakashi-sensei?" He walked over unlocking his door to poke his head out.

"What are you doing here?" His mood turned from curiosity to sour quickly. He didn't need a babysitter.

"I heard you been held up in your room. Just making sure you're alright." Kakashi smiled at the blond-haired kitsune.

He sighed scratching at the nape of his neck. "I... I have been sick."

"You're a terrible lair Naru'," Kakashi shook his head but remained firmly planted in the doorway. "Alright, what's the issue?" His sensei was not budging from his spot until he got a suitable enough answer.

He sighed and turned plopping down on his mattress like a starfish. "The look he gave said enough he hates me."

Kakashi was glad his mouth was covered. Seriously, it was DeJa'Vu all over again.

"He doesn't hate you I recall him talking about you."

In an instant, Naruto had shot up clutching Kakashi's vest between his hands. "What the hell did he say? Tell meeee!" His nostrils were flared, and he bared his canine which reminded Kakashi of a wild animal.

"Hmmm, let me see. You know what it must have slipped my mind. You might want to ask him yourself."

"NANI!" He started to shake his sensei back in forth but the sterling-haired Jonin was unaffected by this point.

"Look I can reassure you that you both are idiots." The shaking stopped.

Kakashi was greeted by a bright smile that was before he got ambushed by projectile vomit. Yup, he probably deserved that. "How long have you been sick?" stared at the front of his vest he hated doing laundry. He had to keep it together, the smell alone had his stomach turning.

"It has been ongoing for a few days now." He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.

"Have you told anybody?"

"No?" He gave Kakashi a look cross between confusion and suspicion.

"You should tell somebody like the midwife or Tsunade."

"Why?" Why did it feel like it was hard to catch his breath?

/That's what I been trying to tell you/

/Don't say it. Please don't say it/

/Sorry kit/

/How is that even possible? /

/You're a kitsune, your body is different from a normal human and so is your gestation period / He felt like he was gonna be sick again.

"Naru... hello?" Hatake began to tap on the blonde's forehead. "You there? Earth to Naruto." Naruto had a far-off stare but blinked a couple of times as he came back to reality.

Kakashi watched as those big bright blue orbs stared up at him with fright and the Jonin just knew whatever the news, he had gotten was what Kakashi had been implying. "Oh shit." These brats were going to drive him to chain smoke just as Sarutobi Asuma did.

"'Kashi," He sniffled staring up at his sensei helplessly.

"It's going to be alright." He placed a palm on top of the blonde's head.

"I'm not ready." His voice cracked.

"I know Naru but who is... to be honest, you're gonna make a great father. This kid is going to be lucky to have you." Now for the other parent that was another story. No, he was being unfair, Sasuke just needed a chance even if his parents weren't the best role models.

"Please don't tell anybody just yet I need time to process."

His sensei gave him a stern gaze.

"Don't wait too long."

"I know Kakashi-sensei."

In a dark gray yukata and clutching Naruto's aquamarine-dyed yukata under his right arm, Sasuke marched up the dirt path to his spouse's home the next morning of the festival. People at the festival began setting up shop in the streets and stringing colored lanterns from shop to shop as the streets began to get crowded. The vendors were preparing delicious street food at the time. He was greeted at the door by a huffy-looking Natsuko, blocking the doorway.

As he tried to slip by, she stuck her arm out. "I don't know what you did, but he's been in there for nearly a week." She said through gritted teeth.

"I'm trying here." Before she backed down, they stared silently at one another.

"Fix the mess you caused." She snapped.

He nodded. Making a beeline to Naruto's bedroom. The first knock he received was an angry go away as his response.

"Open up brat." He began to beat on the blonde's bedroom door.

"Sasuke?"

"Yeah, who else would it be." His knocking continued.

"Go away," Naruto exclaimed. Sasuke's frustration took over. "If you don't open this door, I'll kick it down!"

"Pft," was his answer.

"Alright smart ass," He adjusted his obi and lifted his right leg until his knee and leg slipped through the slit of his robe focusing all his chakra into his right foot, he kicked the bedroom door causing it to break off its hinges.

"What the fuck you do that for asshole!" He freaked out staring at the dangling door.

He heard the midwife say what in the word but she did not dare come and see.

"I told you I was gonna do it. Didn't I?" and with that Sasuke had tossed the aquamarine-dyed yukata at the blonde. "Get dressed."

"What for?"

"Get dressed and you'll find out." He felt his frustration wane away.

"Errr...Fine." The blonde grumbled and paused in removing his shirt to peer over at his spouse.

"I'm not leaving." He watched Naruto turn several different shades of red. Sasuke sighed for crying out loud they saw each other naked, but he decided to humor the blonde just this once, and turned so his back faced him.

"Okay, I'm ready."

"Took you long enough." Sasuke received a tongue directed at him, but the color suited the blonde he made a good call.

"C'mon we been here long enough," he grabbed Naruto by his wrist pulling him from his room, hallway, and right out the front door.

"Bye everybody I'll be back soo-"

"-There's not enough time." Sasuke began to run.

They winded up at the market place there were swarms of people shopping, dancing, and celebrating. The air was filled with music and dancing as the performers marched down the village streets in colorful garments to celebrate Spring. At first, Sasuke stopped at a nearby Takoyaki vendor the aroma of fried food was all too appealing to the blonde and he began to drool.

"You can have as many as you like."

"Really!?"

"Of course." Sasuke's voice was warm. That day they hit every vendor known to mankind. Somehow between those five days, the blonde's appetite had increased tenfold. At this rate, Sasuke was going to be broke.

This time Sasuke was dragged around by the blonde who had grabbed his wrist. Naruto was like a kid again pointing at everything his excitement rubbing off on the raven. He felt his face softening at those bright blue pools. Unexpectedly, he felt small digits sliding between his own, glancing down at their entwined fingers.

He felt his heart picking up speed as they strolled down the dirt road. They were taking in all the sights and sounds, even though hours had passed. It felt like only seconds. It also felt like they had all the time in the world to just enjoy each other's company. Even though the sun began to set causing the horizon to shimmer in warm hues they still remained hand in hand the entire time. There was a scheduled fireworks event that night but as Sasuke tilted his head up to the stars, he saw the clouds and somber sky above a storm approaching. He realized he'd do anything to have all that attention focused on him and him alone.

Subconsciously, he squeezed the hand that was holding his own. There would have been a spectacular firework display but the rain ruined that. It started off as a light sprinkle before coming down harder and harder. Seeing couples and families flee the water, they watched people around them start to clear out.

"C'mon let's take cover." Sasuke had led the way. They took refuge under a Sukiya-zukuri-style teahouse.

"That was a close one," Naruto had removed his hand smiling as he shook the extra moisture from his shaggy blond locks. A force that Sasuke could not explain was taking over as he stepped closer. He could not recall what page- fuck it the damn book, Sasuke realized he wanted this. It was like he was waking up from a dream Naruto had a hold on him.
